Many happy greetings fellow biblio-cats

*waves paw*

Oh boy am I happy, I bought 3 x box sets of books already and another one which I'm sharing today.

Mew have no idea how ecstatic I am to have unlimited credits at Audible, this means I can indulge as much as I like...  hang on a sec.... wait there... I can hear someone shouting...

"What did mew just say P.A.?"

"Mew can have as many as mew like within reasonable limits!" The P.A. answered.

"What devilry is this?" I spluttered.

"No more than 75 books," The P.A. replied.

"What... mew're capping my limit?" I almost choked the wurds out.

"You had 56 last year alone," The P.A. explained. "That's fair, besides the spring and summer are coming and mew know Basil will be having an epically epic adventure again and 75 books a year equates to 1.4423 new books per week, I'm sure that's enough!"

"Hmmmmmm," I muttered. "This is true, our adventures do eat into my reading time, especially in the summertime too..." I paused and thought about it some more. "Ok, but if I do need more, like fur instance my fav authors release new books and then I find other books I'd like, would it be possible to have a 25 book contingency plan?"

The P.A. looked at me, eyes narrowed assessing my effury move as I casually moved next to the log basket so she couldn't see my grin, "OK you can have an extra 25 emergency credits, but no more, that is your limit!"

"YES!!!!" I hollered as the P.A. shook her head and left the room.  "That equates to 1.9231 books a week, which means I get 0.4808 more books a week now... woo hoo!"

Don't mew love it when a plan comes together! MOL

And now I think we'll get to this week's fab new novel that I bought the other day with one of my shiny new credits.

Witch Is When It All Began

A Witch P.I. Mystery Book 1

by

Adele Abbott

Here's a little snippet of the book blurb:

When the going gets tough...

Private investigator, Jill Gooder, has been hired to find a serial killer because, as usual, the police can't buy a clue. Jill, the not so proud owner of a crazy, one-eyed cat, probably can't expect too much help from her PA/Secretary, Mrs V, who spends all day knitting.

*    *    *

I know this probably seems a lot similar to last weeks book, with its witchy vibe but believe me when I say this one is by far a more enjoyable/superior beast altogether.

Winky the cat talks fur a start, and though in this book his role isn't as large, I have it on excellent authority that as the series continues it does - so that's a five paw rating already!!!

There are some furry funny moments, it is very English and if mew don't know what a custard cream is - it is a delicious biscuit made fur dunking appurrently, I just asked the P.A. she knows all about them... appurrently - nuff said!

What I can say about this book without spoilerizing anything fur mew, is that it's my favourite book of this year thus far, and I'm about to start binge-listening to the next four in the series.  There are in total 18 books, so that is definitely a huge plus fur me, I just have to wait fur them to be released on audible.

I think mew'll like this so much more than last weeks book, do it, it's great and I'm sure mew'll love it.

Wordy on Wednesday with Biblio-Kitty Amber #27 featuring A Spirited Tail

Welcome To

With Amber ~ The Self-Appointed Biblio-Kitty

Wunderpurr greetings fellow book lovers

Here's hoping mew've had a truly fabulous week thus far.

Last week, mew may remember that I had a little issue regarding buying more credits from Audible and the P.A. was most unsympathetic to my plight.

Anyhoo the other day the P.A. decided to buy this:

Mew can read all about the Tank on Fridays post, but while Basil and the guys were off doing something else I decided that critical action was needed to get my point across regarding my 'zero' credit position at Audible, so I got my furry caboose in that tank, drove it into the lounge and faced the P.A. who was sitting on the sofa watching some Ancient Aliens show on the TV with her headphones on.

Please turn your speakers on to get the full effect

So there I was sitting in my tank, the P.A. completely riveted to watching something about some pyramids in a dry and dusty desert a gazillion years ago and completely oblivious to the fact that I was in the room, in my tank, fully armed and highly and most unequivocally dangerous!

Well, I couldn't believe it when she finally glanced my way, took her headphones off and said. "Oh wow Amber, don't you look completely adorable in the little tank!"

This was so NOT the reaction I was expecting, and then she had the utter nerve to say. "You're just so cute!"

CUTE! CUTE! CUTE!

ARE MEW FREAKING KIDDING ME???

I AM A HIGHLY SKILLED AND DANGEROUS KITTY COMMANDO AND I HAVE A FULLY ARMED TANK POINTED AT MEW AND MEW CALL ME CUTE,  ARE MEW RETARDED OR SOMETHING?

Then... then, she had the gall to laugh, yes mew heard me, she laughed in my face, like what kind of nutjob is she?  Who would be laughing when the barrel of a tank was aimed at them, LIKE OMC!!!  Mew know I really do sometimes wunder about her sanity, or lack thereof as obviously she has no sense of danger at all.

Trying to keep my composure because at this point I was bristling all offur, my paw was shaking just above the fire button and I said, my voice as cold as ice. "I need more credits or else!"

What do mew think the P.A.'s reaction to that was?

And if mew could meme my picture, what would it say?

We'll finish this story next week...

Anyhoo it's time to get stuck into this weeks book pick.

A Spirited Tail

(Mystic Notch Cozy Mystery Series Book 2)

By

Here's a little snippet of the book blurb:

Middle-aged bookstore owner Willa Chance is looking forward to the opportunity of appraising a valuable private library that hasn't seen the light of day for fifty years ... until she finds a dead body in the backyard and the ghost of the home's previous owner anxiously waiting for her inside.

Can Willa discover the identity of the killer in time or will she end up being the fourth victim?

*    *    *

I reviewed Book 1 & then  Book 5  don't ask me why I was doing a 'backwards road-round' thing because I have no idea! MOL   But here we are with book 2, which is totally pawesome, Pandora is back with all her usual gusto trying to train Willa to help keep evil away from Mystic Notch.

As in the previous novels, it is furry hard to put down, furry hard as the story is so well plotted and mew just can't help but have to see what happens next.

I love this series so much and can't praise it enough.  I do prefer the audio versions as the narrator brings the story to life in such a fabulous way and each character has their own voice so mew can just see the action unfolding in your mind's eye as mew're listening to it.

Brilliant, read it, but my advice is to listen to it!

Wordy on Wednesday with Biblio-Kitty Amber #26 featuring The Cat, the Professor and the Poison

Welcome To

With Amber ~ The Self-Appointed Biblio-Kitty

Wunderpurr greetings fellow book lovers

I do hope mew've had a great week, mine was progressing well until I went to buy a new book from Audible and saw that I had no credits left.  Well mew can imagine my utter horror at this discovery.

Now mew see I'm on the 24 books a year package, which I probably eat through in the furst 2 - 3 months.  I wish they did a '52 A Year Book Package + Extra Credits' as this would be much more to my liking.  Anyhoo, so once I've used all my 24 credits, Audible allows me to buy another 3 credits fur £11.99 at a time. So that was fine until Monday evening when I thought, I really need something new to listen to, so I got my ipad out and found a book I wanted knowing already that I had used my last credit last week, but I thought oh it's no purroblem I'll just get 3 more credits - wrong!

It would appear that I have reached my maximum credit limit and there's no more until my subscription renews on the 12th of February.  Can mew imagine I have to wait 2 more weeks before I can get anything new - it's SHOCKING, A COMPLETE TRAVESTY in fact!

I feel sick... light headed... dizzy in fact... with palpitations... hot and cold sweats... the room is spinning...

What on earth am I going to do????

SHOCK!

DENIAL!

I raced into the kitchen and found the P.A.

"I can't get any new books!" I blurted. "And I can't buy anymore credits!"

The P.A. stared at me as she was dunking a double choc chip cookie in her coffee while sat at the kitchen island.  The coffee-sodden cookie broke and splashed into the cup.

"Oh flipping flip Amber, that's terrible!" she said using a teaspoon to fish out the soggy cookie.

I stared in horror as she ate the now really soggy cookie off the spoon and thought, she's really not taking this critical crisis seriously.

Taking a deep breath, I said as calmly as possible. "What are mew going to do about my desperate dilemma?" Then added. "This is a DEFCON 2 situation!"

The P.A. dunked another cookie and ate it before she replied. "Amber you have probably more books than anyone else I know, also you have your very own private library and I don't know of any other cats that have that facility, go find something to read among the stacks and don't forget there's more boxes of books in the shed that we still haven't unpacked yet, so don't tell me you haven't got anything to read." She sipped her coffee and then continued. "You have over 500 books on the kindle too, read one of those!"

That was so NOT the answer I wanted!

Then to add insult to injury the P.A. said whilst eating another cookie. "You should have managed your credits better!"

Jeez, what does a kitty have to around here to get some sympathy and some new books????

Anyhoo enough of my book buying issues, let's get stuck into this weeks book pick.

Mew may remember that a while ago I reviewed the furst book in the series,

Click the link fur a quick recap if mew need it! MOL

Anyhoo I thought it was about time that I shared the second one with mew.  Quilter, Jillian Hart and her three kitties, Chablis, Syrah and Merlot are back in the midst of a new murder mystery, this book is equally as entertaining as the furst, if not more so because mew already love the characters!  It has endless plot twists and turns to keep mew listening right to the furry last wurd.  When I start one of these novels I usually listen to it in a day, let's just say I'm a binge listener and probably get through at least 6 novels a week.  It's true I am a book'a'holic! MOL

If mew enjoyed Book I, mew'll certainly enjoy this too.
