Hello gorgeous library guests
and
Welcome to the Mewton-Clawson Library at BBHQ
Thank mew for joining me in the stacks today, and this week I've been spending my time in the catservatory as the P.A. was finishing the Christmas Crafting with Cats Special in the craft room, which also doubles up as my library.
So do stop by tommorow as we're sharing the epically epic festive project and mew can watch the P.A. make this years project from start to finish in a series of videos.
So we do hope mew enjoy seeing that.
1. ________________made me smile recently.
2. I am looking forward to seeing ___________________over the holidays.
3. During the holiday season, my home _________.
4. _________ is my favorite way to get in a festive mood.
The P.A.'s answers are...
1. Seeing the local Young Farmers Annual Tractor convoy made me smile recently. They cover their tractors with lights and festive decorations and then go on a convoy around the local villages to raise money for the YFC, I think there was about 50 tractors in total, and yes we donated to the cause as part of our Christmas donations. I did video the entire thing, though sadly I can't share it, next year I'll go to another village to get the footage! LOL
2. I am looking forward to seeing my parents over the holidays, they are coming for Christmas lunch. Well, that's unless the government decides to lock everything down again because of Omicrom!
3. During the holiday season, my home is rather peaceful apart from marauding cats trying to decimate the decorations.
4. A vodka or two and some festive music is my favorite way to get in a festive mood.
Let's see what I've got to show mew this time!
This week's top book pick is...

A Friend Called Alfie
by
Rachel Wells
Here's a little snippet of the book blurb:
Alfie and his kitten, George, have always known that a human is for life and not just for Christmas. So when George learns that one of the residents of Edgar Road has been taken into hospital, he realises it’s up to him to provide some comfort at this difficult time of year.
The only problem is that they now have a little puppy in tow – Pickles the Pug, who is convinced he can be a cat if only he sticks with his new found friends.
I've never read any of the Alfie books before, so was delighted when I got this in my Feline and Fiction subscription box a while ago.
There are five books prior to this one, so I think I need to do a little bit of catching up!
This is a charming, delightful read and the author really does paint a vivid picture of all the characters and antics of Edgar Road. Alfie who is a doorstep cat and floats from home to home is such an intelligent cat and does his best to keep the kitten George and Pickles the Pug on the straight an narrow! MOL
It is light fiction, a heartfelt story which has a few plot twists and turns from the previous books.
I really enjoyed it, and think any cat lover would love it too.

I really hope mew enjoy the book as much as I did if mew decide to read it.
It's time fur me to say BFN or bye-for-now as mew know the drill, so many books, so little time and I'll be back next week with another specially paw-picked book just for mew, and don't furget that all my previous reviews can be found on my Book Review page.
Until next time...
Keep calm and read more books

THose were good answers and Alfie sounds like a pretty good read sweet Amber!
ReplyDeleteAmber, you are looking purrfect!
ReplyDeleteTo match my book total for 2020, I must finish 24 books by 1/1/22...do you think I can do it?
I can! Especially since I've got almost two weeks of holiday and NO WORK...woohoo!
Hopefully y'all won't get locked down again!
ReplyDeleteLets pray for your area to stay open...lockdown is so horrid.
ReplyDeleteYou sure look like you are thinking about this Christmas season we are in, Amber. You look so prettily thoughtful.
That seems to be a charming book!
I hope your parents are able to come for Christmas lunch. I think there will be another lockdown but not until after Boxing Day. He should never have lifted all the final restrictions all at the same time! Like everyone, I really want to get some sort of normal back.
ReplyDeleteEveryone should have a friend named Alfie
ReplyDeleteLove your fill-ins. Looks like they are trying to shut down Christmas again this year in the U.S. Not all the states, but many. I'm not thinking it's going to work well this time. People are starting to rebel.
ReplyDeleteI'll have a vodka or two with you.
Thank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.
