Epic Wednesday Greetings Furiends
Welcome to the BBHQ midweek news round-up!
How's your week going?
It's been very rainy here the last few days and has felt colder because of the endless dampness. The P.A. let the fire in the woodburner go out last week, but luckily yesterday she lit the stove again, so we're back to supurr toasty and totally tropical in the sitting room! MOL
We hope mew all are warm and toasty and not experiencing any severe weather phenomena, as we've seen several things from around the globe in recent days, from flooding, snow storms, an earthquake and high winds. So we'll keep our paws crossed that none of mew are affected.

The Garden Winter Clear Up Begins
Smooch was on paw to check the progress of the garden winter clear up. Dad got the chainsaw out and did a spot of tree trimming, as some were getting far too tall and causing the lawn to be in too much shadow. Hence the lawn is now not a lawn but just covered in moss.
We are undecided about what to do as every company we have out to look at the lawn comes up with a totally ridiculous price, so we may just rip it up and just lay new turf again as that will be the cheapest option.
The P.A. is a little fluffed off as when the turf was originally put down in 2017, the chap who used to come and do the mowing brought a lawn disease and the new turf never really recovered. Little did we know at that time that an issue like this could occur. Basically, the lawn chaps mower had cut grass which had a contagious fungus on it, and then that fungus was transmitted to our lawn, and here we are today.
But whatever, we may leave it mossy for this year and do nothing; we haven't decided yet.
Anyhoo, dad will get the chainsaw out again this weekend and cut up any of the trees that will be ok for logs, and the rest will go on the bonfire down the field.
And finally this week
Melvyn's Modelling The Top Bandana Pick
The Llama Drama and Steampunk Cats bandanas tied last week, so we flipped a coin, and the Llama Drama won!
Check out his video on TikTok, Smooch got on the catwalk first and Melvyn lost the plot and forgot what he was doing! MOL
Which one should he model next?
January's choices are below.
The options from the top left in a clockwise direction:
1. Steampunk Cats
2. Mr Sunshine
3. Llama Drama
4. Pink Flamingos
Let us know in the comments, and Melvyn will model it on next week's post
That's us done for today. Amber will be back on Friday with another fab book just for mew and if mew missed Monday's post click here to catch up on a Little bit of Brain Training, and see Melvyn's Going Green post on the Sunday Selfies here.

Nice, Melvyn! We are excited to see you in Llama Drama. You certainly wear it well! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd Smooch, good job checking stuff out. Grass diseases are such a pain -- they most certainly can be spread from blades that have cut infected grass. We are sorry that happened.
Love the Christmas cards. You got lots and lots.
ReplyDeleteLots of clean up all over California. So many trees down and so much damage in so many places. We're fine here.
Love llama drama bandana. I think the flamingo one should be next.
Have a fabulous day. Scritches all around and a hug to mom. ♥
ReplyDeleteWe need more sunshine, so we pick Mr Sunshine as our fave Bandana.
Right now our weather is calm, but who knows what may be in store, there is still plenty of time for winter to rear an ugly side...
We have a bunch of trees that need trimming or other more severe attention, can you send your Dad here after he's done in your yard?? LOL!
At least that moss covering is nice and soft for kitties to lay on...
Nice Christmas cards and fun cat walking! Melvyn sure looks dashing in Llama Drama! I hope your lawn can recover! I'll vote for the sunshine bandana next. We could use some too, tomorrow we have a chance of severe windstorms.
ReplyDeleteI vote for Mr Sunshine next. One side of our garden has a leyland hedge and the grass is full of moss because it is in the shade. Last spring Ivor raked all the moss out and put down grass seed. The birds enjoyed it any way. It must have tasted better than their own seeds and peanuts!
ReplyDeleteLooking good Melvyn. I like the Smiley faces for next time. I never heard of that happening. The company should replant, XO
ReplyDeleteI hope you get some better and less rainy weather and that you keep plenty warm too. Melvyn, you look Llama Drama terrific!
