Welcome to the BBHQ midweek news round-up!

Happy Wednesday, and thank mew so much for dropping by. Pull up a chair, get comfortable, and let’s dive into what’s been happening at BBHQ over the last few days.

The Weekly Weather Report

Good news, it's stayed just under the mid-twenties for the last few days, and over Caturday night and Sunday morning we did get a few brief showers, which was nice to put a little moisture back into the ground, as a lot of the potted trees are really suffering due to this long dry spell.

Yesterday, the heat started climbing again and was hovering around 29 Celsius, peaking at 30 in the mid to late afternoon. And it will be the same today, but then it will go back to the mid-twenties again for the next few days. So very manageable, unlike recent weeks.

This week's flower offering is a furbulous fuschia, one of two; this is the pink and white one, and the one opposite - not shown - is pink and purple.

Grampaw Update

Thank mew all so much for the prayers and good wishes for Grampaw. On Monday, he went into the nursing home for a 2-week stay... the P.A. and her family have got a rota system going so Grampaw gets visitors all the time. We'll let mew know more soon...

Fudge's Flat Out ... Again

Smooch's Hanging Out in The Shade

And we will say this: thank COD the P.A. planted them, as when she first moved in a bazillion years ago, there weren't any.

Some she grew many from seed, and others were tiny saplings; now we have a little bit of a woodland vibe happening, which is so nice in the heat to have a leafy canopy.

Melvyn's Modelling The Top Bandana Pick


This week, Melvyn is modelling the last bandana of July. 

Mew voted for Cactus Crazee, but he thought, what the fluff, let's do both, as this is his last modelling assignment for the summer, as Amber has another job for him. (See Mews Flash below).

He really enjoyed modelling the Cactus Crazee bandana.

MEWS FLASH


As it's Amber's last book review of the current season on Friday, and she's due to go on her annual jollies next week, Melvyn is being left in charge of the Library Archive on Level 6 again, and as he did such a meowvellous job in 2025, Amber is also letting him run the main Mewton-Clawson Library in the BBHQ courtyard, too...

So would mew like a second season of Melvyn's Mewsings every Friday until Amber returns?

He said he'd really like to share his journey with mew, as he's come such a long way since last year! MOL

Supurr Floofy Greetings Pawesome Furiends

Welcome to the BBHQ midweek news round-up!

Happy Wednesday, and thank mew so much for dropping by. Pull up a chair, get comfortable, and let’s dive into what’s been happening at BBHQ over the last few days.

Firstly, we have to apologise for not doing our usual commenting and blog-hopping over the weekend, as we normally do on a Caturday and/or Sunday; there is a reason... Grampaw is not well; he has gone downhill over the last few weeks... the stress for the P.A.'s family is high. Grampaw keeps falling over too. Luckily, Cat Dad was there last Friday and got him up off the floor. Grampaw was uninjured, thank cod, but it's a tough time for all.

Please don't think we're being rude; we're not. Sometimes the P.A. just needs a break from everything and has to go hide out in the garden to decompress. But then she feels horribly guilty for not commenting and joining in the hops. Just know she's doing her best to post and will hopefully catch up on your posts this weekend.

The Weekly Weather Report

Let's tell mew about the weather this week. Well, we're not complaining; it's been hovering around mid-twenties for the last few days, so a welcome respite from the previous weeks' scorchio inferno from hell.

And allegedly we could even get rain on Caturday and Sunday, which would be rather welcome right now; the garden is in need of a big drink, so we're quite excited about that if it happens, but we're not holding our breath! MOL

This week's flowering offering is...

A garden planter overflows with bright flowers in shades of pink, purple, yellow, and orange. A metal plant marker labelled “Parsley” sits among the blooms, adding a humorous touch as the pot is clearly filled with colourful ornamentals instead of herbs. These snapdragons are glorious, and no doubt mew noticed the Parsley sign stuck in the back; it keeps moving around the garden. The P.A. tried to get a matching Basil one, but failed; she'll come across one at some point on one of her garden centre excursions!

Fudge and Melvyn's Afternoon Siesta

 Pandora's Flat Out in The Catservatory 


Pabdora, a long‑haired dark‑furred cat lies stretched out on her side, fast asleep amid soft patterned pillows and blankets decorated with pink and white bird and floral designs. She’s nestled on a fluffy cream rug in a warm, comfortable catservatory setting, completely relaxed during her BBHQ afternoon snooze at BBHQ.

Supurr floofy Pandora got snuggled in the catservatory; she was zonked out on the sofa. And yes, before mew ask, she does get brushed most days in the summer, but this was a pre-brush pic! MOL

It took her a long time to accept being groomed, but now she loves it and has the choice of around six different types of brushes. Her favourite is the one upstairs, the pink angel tangle teaser; that one is also Parsley and Melvyn's favourite too.

And most evenings before bed, there's a queue for pre-bed brushing! MOL
