The BBHQ Midweek News Round-Up **Rambunctious Roses!!!** ~ Fudge's on Garden Pawtrol, Smooch's Chillaxing Under The Gazebo, and Parsley's Deep in Flower Garden ~ **PLUS** Melvyn's Modelling

Roses are booming, the weather’s cooled, the veggie garden’s planted, and the cats are living their best outdoor lives. Melvyn rocked the Psychedelic Feline bandana ~ vote for next week’s pick! MOL

Furbulous Greetings Supurr Furiends

Welcome to the BBHQ midweek news round-up!

Happy Wednesday, supurr furiends, and thanks so much for dropping by. Relax, get comfortable, and let’s dive into what’s been happening at BBHQ this week.

Here's the weather report: Well, after last week's supurr scorchio heatwave, it cooled down on Caturday, then even more on Sunday, the heavens opened Monday, and it rained all night. 

And yesterday it was a mix of clouds and sun all day with a high of 19 Celsius, which is much more tolerable than last week.

Those high temperatures in the U.K. are suffocating, as it's so humid and unpleasant. We even got the portable air-con unit out, as the bricks warm up and then the house gets hotter and hotter until it heaves with heat due to the extra-thick walls.

Anyhoo, we like this week's weather better, and on Sunday we helped snoopervise in the veggie garden as the P.A. and Cat Dad planted: runner beans, peas, broad beans, lettuce, courgettes, tomatoes, mini cucumbers, all types of peppers, more tomatoes, more lettuce, shallots, and beetroot. 

Plus nasturtiums as sacrificial plants, oh, and there was some basil, not me MOL, and coriander planted too, as the older herbs had wilted too much in the heat.

Cat Dad is planning to set up an irrigation system once the planting is finished. There are a lot more empty pots, and the P.A. will hopefully get some more compost and a few more plants next weekend, and we're done there.

Here's this week's flower offering, this time we're sharing the rose in the courtyard and the one at the back of the summerhouse.

We'll share more flowers next time, and if mew're wondering where this week's jigsaw puzzle is, there isn't one as last time's absolutely crippled them emotionally!!! MOL MOL

Mew know when mew wake up on your birthday and the air just feels different? Like the Bunker itself is humming a little tune, vibrating with anticipation, and pawsibly hiding a few surprises behind every corner?

Yeah. That was today.

My 24th birthday pawty had officially arrived, and the Nip Nirvana Lounge was calling my name like a siren made of disco lights and catnip sprinkles.

As I padded down the corridor, I noticed the first clue that tonight was going to be something special: a trail of paw‑painted arrows, confetti, and a suspiciously sparkly banner that read:

“THIS WAY TO THE BUNKER BLOWOUT!”

I grinned. My furmily had been busy.

Inside the lounge? Oh My Cod. They’d transformed it.

Not into a rave. Not into a cosmic circus. Not into a magical anomaly zone (thankfully). Just… a proper, pawsome, heart‑thumping, whisker‑twitching BBHQ birthday festival.

Festoon lights zig‑zagged overhead. Cushions were stacked into lounging forts. Banners fluttered. The bar sparkled. And the music? Classic BBHQ bangers… upbeat, nostalgic, and guaranteed to get everypawdy’s tail swishing.

I strutted in like the birthday commander I am, wearing my brand‑new pawty hat, whistle at the ready.

“WELCOME TO THE BUNKER BLOWOUT!” I announced, blowing the whistle with dramatic flair. The crowd erupted. As they should.

THE BAR ~ AMBER’S “TOTALLY SAFE” CREATIONS

Amber was behind the bar again, looking suspiciously proud of herself.

“I’ve made a responsible menu this time,” she declared.

I raised an eyebrow.

She slid me a drink topped with an edible star.

The bottle behind her fizzed, rattled, and exploded into a fountain of foam.

Amber sighed. “Okay… mostly responsible.”

The drinks were delicious, though:

Basil’s Birthday Shot ~ The Floofinator ~ this is self-explanatory ~ Potent. Fluffy. Legendary.

Pandora’s Sparkle Cooler ~ A shimmering magical waterfall in a glass, topped with a misty, glittering haze.

Fudge's Catnip Tropicana ~ Tropical chaos with an umbrella, a neon stirrer, and a whole lot of attitude.

Parsley’s Shadow Chaser ~ Dark, smoky, mysterious... like Parsley himself. Handle with caution.

Snowie’s Spritzy Swirl ~ A swirling white cloud of frosty fizz. Light, bright, and deceptively refreshing.

Posie's Rainbow Dream ~ Prismatic layers of colour with a glitter sparkle finish. Tastes like joy.

Humphrey's Happy Hour ~ Relax. Just do it. The drink equivalent of a deep, satisfied sigh.

Melvyn’s Mostly Harmless Catnip Surprise ~ The surprise? Absolutely no catnip whatsoever. Melvyn cackled for a full five minutes.

The Smooch Slammer (dangerous) ~ Comes with a safety warning for a reason. One slammer and mew’ll be dancing on the bar. Two slammers and mew’ll think mew invented dancing.

I sampled them all. For quality control, obviously.

THE SNACKS ~ HUMPHREY’S CLASSICS

Humphrey burst out of the kitchen like a chef possessed.

“I HAVE RETURNED TO TRADITION!” he announced.

No floating snacks, or transcendent mousse, and defo no dishes that whispered the secrets of the universe.

Just good, pawesome pawty food:

Tuna sliders

Nip pretzels

Salmon bites

Cheese puffs

Fish biscuits

And a giant cake shaped like… me

The cake blinked.

Humphrey shrugged. “Old habits die hard.”

THE MUSIC ~ SMOOCH & FUDGE TAKE OVER

Smooch and Fudge were DJing together.

Smooch handled the playlist. Fudge handled the vibes.

Every time the bass dropped, Fudge’s tail floofed like a ginger firework. It was magnificent, and Melvyn burped as he tried another of Amber’s new drinks, while Posie and Snowie tried to convince him that his next drink needed to be plain old milk!

They played everything from retro dance anthems to BBHQ classics. Everypawdy was on the dance floor within seconds.

THE GAMES ~ PANDORA’S GENIUS

Pandora had organised a whole lineup of games:

The Great Cushion Dash

Pin the Hat on Basil

The Nip Toss Challenge

Musical Boxes

The Bunker Treasure Hunt (Parsley hid the clues, so it was mildly terrifying)

Every game had ridiculous prizes. Everypawdy was laughing. It was purrfect.

THE MOMENT – MY BIRTHDAY TOAST

Later in the night, I hopped onto the bar, raised my glass, and looked around at my furmily and furiends.

“To everypawdy here,” I said, feeling my heart swell. “To another year of adventures, chaos, laughter, and love. Mew make BBHQ the best place in the universe.”

Amber sniffled. Fudge floofed. Pandora sparkled. Humphrey saluted with a spatula. The B Team whooped with joy.

And I felt… happy. Properly, deeply, whisker‑tinglingly happy.

THE FINALE ~ A PAWTY TO REMEMBER

The lights dimmed. The music softened. And the giant Basil‑cake lit up with candles.

Everypawdy gathered around. We sang… we laughed… we celebrated.

I made a wish, and I’m pretty sure it came true.

Because as the night rolled on, with dancing, games, snacks, and laughter echoing through every corridor of the Bunker…

I realised something:

This pawty didn’t need magic. It was magic.

WOOO HOOOOOO DUDES & DUDETTES - RAVE ON!

We do hope mew all have an EPIC time at the pawty, and if mew need to chill, we have allocated the Crystal Room as the zen zone, which is now located next to the nightclub; just head back out into the corridor, take a left, and it's the next door along, so mew can have a snooze, take five or just crash completely.

Thanks furry much for coming! I love a big get-together at BBHQ with all my epically epic furiends and mew all make it so very special!!!
