The BBHQ Midweek News Round-Up ~ Who's On The Roof Again - Fudge, Smooch, Pandora, Melvyn and Fudge, and Melvyn's Taken Over The P.A.s New Office Chair ~ **PLUS** Melvyn's Modelling

A colourful and whimsical blog post banner featuring ten cats from The B Team arranged in a row at the bottom, each with unique fur patterns and expressive faces. Above them, a festive sign with red and blue ribbon accents reads: "Midweek News Round Up with The B Team @BionicBasil®". To the right, Basil has has his mouth open as if speaking, with a speech bubble that says, "WHAT'S THE GOSSIP THIS WEEK?" The background includes trees, bunting, and floating newspapers labelled "NEWS", creating a cheerful and playful atmosphere. At www.bionicbasil.com

Pawesome Greetings Furbulous Furiends

Welcome to the BBHQ midweek news round-up!

Let's start with the weather report: It was cold, wet, squally and damp until  Monday, then yesterday it got drier and a bit more sunny, so that was quite nice to get a couple of sun puddles.

Remember on Friday, as part of the Fill-ins from 15 and Meowing, asked when the Catmas Tree goes up.

And then we found a picture of this, from 2023!

A festive Christmas tree at BBHQ is adorned with whimsical ornaments, including a standout felt mouse dressed in a red sweater. The mouse holds a small bunch of red berries with green leaves and hangs from the tree by a twine loop. Surrounding it are green pine needles, glowing string lights, and other decorations such as a red circular felt ornament and a white ornament with red dots. The scene radiates holiday cheer and cozy charm. The bottom of the image reads "copyright www.bionicbasil.com"

Yes, we have Catmas Mice on our tree, and no, they have nothing to do with the library mice

We did ask, but they refused! MOL MOL

Last week, the epically epic Tabbies of Trout Towne asked:

Iz de PA gonna get de tardiz box stiker 😸😸😸‼️🤎🧡

Well, now there's a thing, especially since she actually installed that Tardis wall sticker and saw how good it was. She just needs to find a space! MOL

Who's On The Roof Again - Fudge

Fudge, a ginger cat with a blue collar, stands alert on a moss-covered tiled roof. His wide eyes gaze upward with curiosity and intensity, capturing a moment of feline focus and adventure. The sky above is mostly cloudy, adding a dramatic backdrop to the rooftop scene. The image is framed with a white border and includes the text "copyright www.bionicbasil.com" at the bottom

Fudge couldn't help himself the other day and had to get on the roof again!

Smooch, Pandora, Melvyn and Fudge

Smooch, Pandora, Melvyn, and Fudge are gathered indoors, viewed through a glass door from outside. Smooch, a white cat with black markings, sits directly in front of the door. Pandora, a fluffy dark-colored cat, stands slightly behind Smooch. Melvyn, a white cat with black patches, lies further back in the room. Fudge, an orange tabby, sits near the left side of the door. All four cats rest on a woven rug over light wooden flooring, gazing outward with curiosity. The image includes the text "copyright www.bionicbasil.com" at the bottom

Four sneaky cats are watching the wood being fetched in for the fire.

They said, and I quote, "Fluff me, it's cold in here, any chance of getting it totally tropical?"

Yep, it got so tropical that we all moved into the catservatory where it was pawsitively Baltic! MOL

In other news...

Melvyn's Taken Over The P.A.s New Office Chair

Melvyn, a tabby and white cat, is curled up asleep on a plush grey cushion atop a grey upholstered swivel chair. The chair sits in front of a desk with a pink mouse pad, white computer mouse, and a small potted plant. To the right, a fluffy pink cushion or blanket adds warmth to the space, while a colorful patchwork quilt is visible to the left. The room exudes a cozy, peaceful vibe with soft textures and pastel tones. The bottom of the image reads "copyright www.bionicbasil.com"

The P.A. bought a new office chair, as her old one is supurr old, the gas lift no longer works, and it's literally on its last legs.

So this one arrived a couple of weeks ago, and after she built and put it in place, Melvyn decided that he really liked it, and now the P.A. is using her old chair again, as she can't wake him up when he's catnapping! MOL

Finally this week

Melvyn's Modelling The Top Bandana Pick

Melvyn's getting festive wearing the Candy Canes bandana, so here's BBHQ's furry own supurr meowdel in action.

Melvyn, a white and tabby cat, sits elegantly on a round cushion near a window, modelling a festive red bandana adorned with peppermint candies, holly leaves, and swirling designs. A small yellow tag featuring a black cat illustration hangs from the bandana. The cushion has a white base with dark floral patterns, and the background reveals a cozy indoor room with furniture and a view of a brick wall outside. The image exudes seasonal charm and feline poise. The bottom reads "copyright www.bionicbasil.com"

Fudge was on the catwalk again this week and even tried to beat Melvyn by taking a detour around the kitchen island! MOL

Pawesome Sunday greetings furiends

Welcome to another BBHQ selfie selection. This week, we decided to head north again and visit the Lake District.

The B Team's Castlerigg Stone Circle Selfie

A photoshopped image of a surreal pastoral landscape featuring all The B Team the foreground. Behind them, a large stone circle in a wide open field. Snow-capped mountains stretch across the horizon under a blue sky with scattered clouds. On the far right, a red British-style telephone booth adds a whimsical touch to the rural scene. The text "www.bionicbasil.com" appears at the top centre of the image.

We loved the Castlerigg Stone Circle, and even though the stones aren't as big as the ones at Stonehenge, it's still such a truly pawesome place to see. The views, well, they are just beyond words!

Mew know how much we love ancient standing stones and stone circles, see our previous trips to:

Here's a little bit of info from BBHQ's Historical Travel Guide, Smooch:

Hello, epic travellers and history lovers!

The Neolithic Castlerigg Stone Circle is a breathtaking sight to behold. Located outside meautiful Keswick in the Lake District, this incredible site overlooks the Thirlmere Valley, and to add to the drama and magnificence, the backdrop of Helvellyn and High Seat mountains adds such atmosphere and presence.

We gazed upon the 38 towering stones, some only 3.25 feet or 1 m tall and others reaching over 7.5 feet or 2.3 m in height. Initially, there were 42 stones, though we don't know what happened to the missing four! The circle has a 97.5 feet or 30 m diameter, so it's pretty big. And we were in awe of the immense skill and dedication it must have taken for the ancestors to construct such a remarkable site over 5,000 years ago, or 3000 BC, in such a location on a hill.

There are various theories, but nopawdy knows for certain why the circle was built or what its purpose was. Some speculate that it was a place of spiritual or religious significance, while others believe it may have been used as an ancient astronomical observatory.

As we wandered around the circle, we felt as though we should be unravelling the mystery, and we did, for just a brief moment, ponder hopping into the TTTB and going back 4,500 years to see what it was really used for. But then, that would destroy the mystery and the magic, wouldn't it? MOL

Regardless of its true purpose, the Castlerigg Stone Circle stands strong and proud, a testament to the ingenuity and resourcefulness of the industrious ancestors. Its preservation is a marvel, and we were immensely grateful for the opportunity to witness its grandeur firstpaw. We highly recommend this pawe-inspiring destination to anyone with an interest in history or a desire to experience the wonder of ancient architecture.
Plus, in the Lake District, there are so many other fantastic places to see, and maybe we will visit another one of them soon!

We do hope mew have an epic day, and remember to always...

Epic Greetings Furbulous Furiends

Welcome to the BBHQ midweek news round-up!

The BBHQ weather has been damp, with a bitter wind chill during the day, and even colder in the evenings. I have to say, we're not loving it ... where's the sunshine and the warmth?

But we are supurr lucky it wasn't like this last week.

A night-time winter scene at BBHQ (Bionic Basil Headquarters), featuring a snow-covered garden with a pathway leading to a small illuminated summerhouse. The ground, plants, and trees are blanketed in fresh snow, creating a serene and peaceful atmosphere. A bright light above the door casts a warm glow, highlighting a large red decorative wheel mounted on the building’s side. Potted plants and neatly trimmed bushes line the path, adding charm to the well-maintained garden. The image includes the text "copyright www.bionicbasil.com" at the bottom

This was this time last year, yep, that white stuff can stay fluffed right off, we ARE NOT ready! MOL

Well, here's a thing!

A lifesize wall sticker designed to resemble the TARDIS from the British TV series "Doctor Who." Painted deep blue with paneling and windows, the top reads "POLICE PUBLIC CALL BOX." Below the windows is a sign with detailed text about public use and emergency assistance. A circular emblem appears on the right panel, and the bottom includes the website "www.bionicbasil.com." The design evokes a nostalgic and imaginative tribute to the iconic time-traveling spacecraft

Who knew that mew could buy a life-size wall/door sticker of the Tardis?

It comes in two pieces, and it's really easy to apply - even on slightly textured walls like this one!!! MOL

Anyhoo, let's look at this week's top headlines.

First up in the news

Fudge's Wearing Melvyn's Bandana

An orange tabby cat named Fudge sits indoors on a textured beige carpet near a glass door. Fudge has a white chest and face and wears a light blue bandana decorated with colorful mushroom designs and a small yellow tag featuring a black cat illustration. To the left of Fudge is a large geode or crystal formation. Outside the glass door, a red blanket or rug is visible on the patio, with green bushes in the background. The image has a cozy, serene atmosphere and includes the watermark "copyright www.bionicbasil.com" at the bottom

Yep, Fudge sneaked one of Melvyn's bandanas on the other day. Melvyn is still grumpy about it. Fudge thought it was hilarious! MOL

Four For One

Four cats—Fudge, Smooch, Parsley, and Melvyn—relax together on a woven herringbone-patterned rug laid across a wooden floor. Fudge, an orange tabby with a white chest, sits upright. Smooch, a black and white cat, lounges nearby. Parsley, a sleek black cat, lies comfortably, while Melvyn, a tabby and white cat, rests close to the others. The cozy indoor setting includes glimpses of surrounding furniture, capturing a peaceful moment of feline companionship. The bottom of the image reads "copyright www.bionicbasil.com"

Treat time at BBHQ is usually around 10.30pm, so a mini snack session before bed.

Amber and Pandora don't eat treats, don't ask why; they never have, but that means all the more for everpawdy else! MOL

Melvyn's Not Happy

Melvyn, a tabby and white cat, sits calmly on a woven rug in a warmly lit indoor space. His coat features a mix of white fur with black and gray tabby markings. Melvyn gazes to the right, alert and composed. The background includes wooden flooring, a white upholstered piece of furniture with nailhead trim, and other household items. The lighting highlights Melvyn and the rug, while the rest of the room remains softly shadowed. The bottom of the image reads "copyright www.bionicbasil.com"

Well, mew know why he's not happy, Fudge stole one of his bandanas, and a Catmas one he was preparing to wear at the beginning of December - oh fluff, siblings hey?!!! MOL
