Hello gorgeous library guests
and
Welcome to the Mewton-Clawson Library at BBHQ
Thank mew for joining me in the stacks today and Happy St Patrick's Day.
The P.A. wanted me to wear the Lucky Clover bandana which Melvyn modelled on Wednesday, but I said and I quote, "My name is NOT Melvyn, and I DON'T do modelling!"
So in the spirit of St Patrick's Day, here's Melvyn wearing said bandana... again.
And as mew can see, I chose a purrticulary flattering photo to feature today! MOL MOL MOL
Also on Wednesday, click the link above. It was mentioned that I was in a deep, deep sleep and the P.A. had to check if I was still on the earthy realm, and a few lovely furiends asked if I was purrhaps a little deaf?
Well, I must admit that I am a little hard of hearing these days, however I'm not totally deaf, and I do have a bit of arthritis, and my eyesight isn't what it was, but that's to be expected at 20+ years, and that's why I really love audiobooks as I can sit back, relax and be read to! MOL
All things considered, I'm bumbling along as well as can be expected at my age.
Today the P.A. is also joining in Friday Fill-ins Blog Hop with the pawesome 15 & Meowing and Four-Legged Furballs.
1. If one doesn’t ________________ then one doesn’t deserve _____________________.
2. What happens at _________________ stays at ______________.
3. One day I will _________, but for now _________.
4. If you ask me _________, I _________.
The P.A.'s answers are...
1. If one doesn’t act with kindness and compassion, then one doesn’t deserve kindness and compassion. I'm a firm believer in treating others how I would like to be treated.
2. What happens at BBHQ stays at BBHQ. Well, that's unless it's in one of The B Team adventures! LOL
3. One day I will decorate the library with a new colour palette, but for now, I'm just thinking (LOL) about it. And those thoughts could take eons in my current phase to emerge into action.
4. If you ask me to give up my cats, I would tell you most politely to fluff right off.
Let's see what I've got to show mew this time!
This week's top book pick is...

A Not So Purrfect Murder
A Cotswolds Cat Familiar Cozy Mystery Book 1
by
D. Watts
Here's a little snippet of the book blurb:
A little heartache. A lot of sass. When starting over leads to murder, can a jilted witch catch a Cotswold killer?
Felicity Knight wishes she’d never got engaged. Hightailing it out of London to the English countryside after being dumped, the heartbroken woman is doubly flustered when she finds a wounded white cat and takes it to a handsome veterinarian. But her confusing feelings for the cute animal doc come to a dead halt when she stumbles on the friendly village tearoom owner stabbed to death.
Driven to solve the senseless killing, Felicity is shocked when a ley-line triggers her magic, and her new four-legged companion starts talking to her. But between learning the witchy secrets of her bloodline and struggling to control her newfound abilities, she despairs of ever finding the elusive culprit.

This is my first D. Watts novel, and I'm so happy I discovered these books on Kindle Unlimited, and the good news there are five in the series so far.
So what do I think of A Not So Purrfect Murder?
Felicity, our main character has had a bit of a crappy time recently, and a trip to a small village called Agnes in the Cotswolds to perhaps meet her birth mother leads to more than murder.
After helping an injured, stray cat, Atticus, Felicity discovers that he can speak, then it emerges she is from a powerful line of witches and just as she's about to get answers, a murder takes it all away from her. But she is determined to discover who the culprit is while trying to clear her name from the crime with her new feline furiend.
Atticus is quite the cat, he's a no-nonsense kind of kitty and I'm interested to see how his character develops in the subsequent books.
This is a charming, lighted-hearted paranormal cozy mystery with a tiny splash of romance, and several species of paranormals. The plot is good and rattles along at a fair pace, with plenty of suspects to be highly suspicious of. There are some not-so-friendly characters, which is a must for balance and to show how nice our heroine really is.
I really enjoyed it, and it only took me a couple of sittings to read it, so it's not a saga and is easy reading, I would say this is a purrfect Sunday afternoon book to curl up with in front of the fire.
Also, I am very interested to carry on with the series and see what happens next. A really great start to a new series.
