The Sunday Selfies and Caturday Art Blog Hops at BBHQ **FEATURING** Fudge's Spidery Basket Selfie

Four illustrated cats pose together in front of a bright field of yellow tulips. From left to right: Fudge, a ginger cat; Parsley, a black cat; Smooch, a white cat with black markings; and Melvyn, a brown, black, and white tabby. Around them are scattered black‑and‑white Polaroid‑style cat selfies, and above the group is a white sign with a paw print and the text “Sunday Selfies ©BionicBasil®.

Lazy‑day lounging at BBHQ; red‑blanket snuggles, wicker‑hamper shadows, and Fudge perfecting his smug ginger‑selfie aesthetic!

Pawesome Sunday greetings furiends

Welcome to another BBHQ selfie selection. Today, the ginger maestro himself is here!

Fudge's Spidery Basket Selfie

A close‑up of an orange tabby cat with bright green eyes lying on a red blanket, wearing a collar with a small orange bells. Behind him sits a wicker log basket and part of a door, creating a cosy outdoor scene. Featured in the Sunday Selfies Blog Hop at BionicBasil®, this is Fudge’s “spidery basket” selfie moment

Yep, the spidery blanket in the basket under the gazebo is still unwashed and still extremely spidery.

The P.A. keeps going to check if Sydney is still living his best life, and yes, he is. Utterly unbothered and fully committed to his outdoor zen space.

(Though in reality, she just peeks in, sees the long, hairy, spidery legs, shudders, tries not to scream, and walks ... sorry ... runs away at speed!)

And now it seems that Sydney and Fudge are having deep and meaningful conversations too, not just Smooch!

Sydney is really making new furiends and expanding his tribe! MOL

Plus Fudge has banned Melvyn from the basket, as Melvyn has a 'taste' for spiders, yes, there's evidence, and several chalk outlines around BBHQ.

Click here to dive into this cat-tastic puzzle starring furbulous Fudge, taking a little time out in the spidery basket. It’s a floof-tastic test of feline finesse, and guess what?

We crushed it in just 9 minutes and 40 seconds. Can mew beat our time?

Of course, mew can! MOL

Anyhoo, it's time for us to go and do the usual Sunday vibe, lunch is on, and gardening is temporarily postponed due to blustery and rather inconvenient rain. That has also ruined all our pre-planned pawtrols! MOL

But so it goes ... though we did ask Humphrey if he could build a weather-manipulating machine, aka W.M.M., but he said they are already being deployed, so he heard, but don't quote him, and if he built us one, it could possibly make the weather even worse.

We're having a weather summit this week, and we may look at building a biosphere over BBHQ. We'll keep mew posted; planning permission will likely be an issue due to the conservation caveat on the village.

Anyhoo, we'll see mew bright and breezy in the morning when we're back with a supurr fun, Crafting with Cats post that has an Easter twist.

We do hope mew have an epic day, and remember to ...

  1. Fudge looks like he is warning all comers away! Maybe when the basket is empty, the PA should tell Melvyn what a wonderful place it is for a nap, and a snack. The art is lovely.

    1. Thank mew so much!
Fudge absolutely does look like he’s issuing a formal warning to all who dare approach “his” spidery domain!!! MOL
He takes guarding duties very seriously … even if he’s guarding a basket he refuses to sit in half the time. 😹💛

And ohhh, telling Melvyn the basket is a wonderful napping spot?
Brilliant idea, but also a guaranteed eight‑legged snack‑fest!
That ginger floof has no shame when it comes to spiders, and the chalk outlines around BBHQ prove it. The P.A. is still traumatised!!! MOL

We’re so glad mew liked the art too, thank mew!

Sending purrs and sunshine from all of us at BBHQ!

  2. I wonder if Sydney is a girl. Maybe Fudge and Smooch are simply trying to keep the babies warm while Sydney goes off looking for things to eat. Interesting situation they have going there.

    1. Thank mew so much, Lynn and Precious!
We’ve wondered the same thing about Sydney, the P.A. still isn’t entirely sure, and Sydney certainly isn’t volunteering any personal detail!!! MOL

Your theory actually makes a lot of sense!
Fudge and Smooch do act like they’re on some kind of babysitting rota … sitting nearby, watching the basket, looking very serious about their duties. If Sydney is a girl, she’d definitely be the type to pop off for snacks while leaving the boys in charge of childcare. 😹

It really is an interesting little situation we’ve got going on, the BBHQ wildlife diplomacy programme is thriving!

Sending hugs and purrs to mew both!

Fudge does have some truly magnificent whiskers, he likes to think of them as his built‑in accessories, always ready for a dramatic selfie moment!!! MOL 😹💛

We’re delighted mew enjoyed Fudge’s selfie, he was feeling very handsome and dramatic in his spidery‑basket domain!! MOL 😹💛

And thank mew for the lovely words about the arty version too, the P.A. had great fun giving it that extra bit of flair!

  5. That is absolutely pawsome art, Fudge.
Now, as for spiders - Mummy isn't too keen on them, but She doesn't want to harm them because there's a Mewish tradition that a spider saved the life of King David when he was being hunted down by King Saul. The spider spun a web over the entrance to the cave where David was hiding, and so King Saul's soldiers thought there was nobody there, because anyone going in would have broken the web.

Fudge is absolutely delighted mew liked his arty selfie, he says it really captures his “don’t‑even‑think‑about‑touching‑my‑spidery‑basket” energy!!! MOL 😹💛

And what a fascinating story about the spider and King David.
We love that, it’s such a meautiful reminder that even the smallest creatures can play a huge role in the grand scheme of things. No wonder your Mummy prefers not to harm them.

The P.A. tries to follow that philosophy too …
… but when Sydney’s long, hairy legs suddenly appear in the basket, she tends to follow a different ancient tradition:
The Loud Scream and Rapid Retreat!!! MOL

Still, Sydney is safe, respected, and clearly thriving, and the boys seem to enjoy his company, so all is well in the BBHQ peace accords!

Will go off to puzzle in just a tick.
I understand why spiders are important in the world, but I don't want to see them!!!

We’re delighted mew enjoyed the image and the arty version, Fudge was feeling very pleased with himself, as only a ginger floof in a spidery basket can!!! MOL 😹💛

And have fun with the puzzle!
It’s a good one, lots of whiskers, floof, and suspicious basket‑shadows to keep things interesting.

As for spiders… ohhh, we hear mew!
We fully respect their place in the world, nature’s little pest‑control experts, but actually seeing them? Especially when they’re large, leggy, and lurking in a basket under the gazebo?
The P.A. would very much prefer not to, thank mew kindly!!! MOL

Sydney, however, is living his best life and shows no signs of relocating, anytime soon!!!

  8. Didn't beat your jigsaw time, but love the artwork. Super cool the B Team are all down with the spider. Maybe they could do a DNA swap to get extra spider skills in return for sullying spider with a winter coat???
Have a fun, warm and happy week

We’re thrilled mew enjoyed the artwork, Fudge says it captures his full ginger‑drama vibe. MOL 😹💛

Great job on the puzzle too, even if our time still stands!

As for the spider situation … some of the B Team are embracing Sydney, and the P.A. is embracing the ancient tradition of Scream and Run!!! MOL

Spider DNA swaps sound fun, but Melvyn would probably just eat the results.

And honestly … we don’t blame mew about staying 10 feet away!
The P.A. won’t go near it either, Sydney’s long, hairy legs are enough to make her teleport in the opposite direction!!! MOL

    1. We know, right?!
Chalk lines are never a good sign, especially when they mysteriously appear around Sydney’s last known location!!! MOL 😹

Things are definitely getting serious in the BBHQ Spidery Crime Division … but don’t worry, no actual spiders were harmed. Just a very dramatic P.A. with a piece of chalk!
