Supurr Festive Sunday greetings, epic furiends

Firstly, many apologies for dropping off the planet, and no, it wasn't the new B Team adventure, the P.A. has the most fluff-awful flu, she came down with it a week last Friday, and nine days in, she's just starting to feel a bit better... but not great... stick with us as we try to resume normal blog service.

Welcome to another BBHQ selfie selection, and as Catmas is fast approaching, Parsley went out in the wilds to find the purrfect snow scene before he went and spread a little festive cheer on his way back to BBHQ! What a dude!

Parsley's Festive Cheer Selfie

He's got such a kind nature and is always thinking of those less fortunate than himself. He loves nothing more than helping others; he is such a little sweetie.

However, he did have a bit of trouble wrapping some of the gifts because the sticky tape kept getting stuck to his fur! OH DEAR! MOL

Anyhoo, it's time for us to go and snoopervise the P.A., as she's a complete sneeze-ridden liability!!! MOL

Smooch, as always, is in the kitchen snoopervising lunch as Cat Dad is cooking, and hopefully, this afternoon, we'll be watching something festive while the P.A. slinks back into zed-land! MOL

We'll see mew in the morning when we're sharing a furbulous Catmas Crafting with Cats post.

We do hope mew have an epic day, and remember to...

The background is filled with orange leaves, sunflowers, and pumpkins, evoking a cozy fall vibe. Surrounding the title are black-and-white Polaroid-style snapshots of other cats, adding a nostalgic and playful touch. Pawesome Sunday greetings furiends

Welcome to another BBHQ selfie selection. This week, we decided to head north again and visit the Lake District.

The B Team's Castlerigg Stone Circle Selfie

A photoshopped image of a surreal pastoral landscape featuring all The B Team the foreground. Behind them, a large stone circle in a wide open field. Snow-capped mountains stretch across the horizon under a blue sky with scattered clouds. On the far right, a red British-style telephone booth adds a whimsical touch to the rural scene. The text "www.bionicbasil.com" appears at the top centre of the image.

We loved the Castlerigg Stone Circle, and even though the stones aren't as big as the ones at Stonehenge, it's still such a truly pawesome place to see. The views, well, they are just beyond words!

Mew know how much we love ancient standing stones and stone circles, see our previous trips to:

Here's a little bit of info from BBHQ's Historical Travel Guide, Smooch:

Hello, epic travellers and history lovers!

The Neolithic Castlerigg Stone Circle is a breathtaking sight to behold. Located outside meautiful Keswick in the Lake District, this incredible site overlooks the Thirlmere Valley, and to add to the drama and magnificence, the backdrop of Helvellyn and High Seat mountains adds such atmosphere and presence.

We gazed upon the 38 towering stones, some only 3.25 feet or 1 m tall and others reaching over 7.5 feet or 2.3 m in height. Initially, there were 42 stones, though we don't know what happened to the missing four! The circle has a 97.5 feet or 30 m diameter, so it's pretty big. And we were in awe of the immense skill and dedication it must have taken for the ancestors to construct such a remarkable site over 5,000 years ago, or 3000 BC, in such a location on a hill.

There are various theories, but nopawdy knows for certain why the circle was built or what its purpose was. Some speculate that it was a place of spiritual or religious significance, while others believe it may have been used as an ancient astronomical observatory.

As we wandered around the circle, we felt as though we should be unravelling the mystery, and we did, for just a brief moment, ponder hopping into the TTTB and going back 4,500 years to see what it was really used for. But then, that would destroy the mystery and the magic, wouldn't it? MOL

Regardless of its true purpose, the Castlerigg Stone Circle stands strong and proud, a testament to the ingenuity and resourcefulness of the industrious ancestors. Its preservation is a marvel, and we were immensely grateful for the opportunity to witness its grandeur firstpaw. We highly recommend this pawe-inspiring destination to anyone with an interest in history or a desire to experience the wonder of ancient architecture.
Plus, in the Lake District, there are so many other fantastic places to see, and maybe we will visit another one of them soon!

We really like this effect for today's selfie!

A stylized, watercolour-like painting of a surreal pastoral landscape featuring all The B Team the foreground. Behind them, a large stone circle in a wide open field. Snow-capped mountains stretch across the horizon under a blue sky with scattered clouds. On the far right, a red British-style telephone booth adds a whimsical touch to the rural scene. Smooch is camped out by the oven right now in anticipation of lunch at 1pm. And this afternoon, we may watch a movie, or, if the weather is clement for the time of year, we may go on a little garden safari as the P.A. has got a few gardening jobs to do.

Do join us again tomorrow, when we're back with another episode of Cats Have Problems Too, and check out this week's Despurrate Dilemma.

We do hope mew have an epic day, and remember to always...

Happy Sunday supurr furiends

Welcome to another BBHQ selfie selection, and today I am here sharing an epic selfie from 2009 when I was in my mega chonk'a'licious phase:

 Wing Commander Basil

An image of Wing Commander Basil, a tabby cat with white, brown and black fur perched gracefully on a leafless tree branch. The cat wears a collar with a tag and gazes into the distance with an alert expression. Snowflakes rest on its fur and the surrounding branches, suggesting a serene winter setting. The background features a clear blue sky, enhancing the peaceful and adventurous mood of the scene. Text at the bottom reads copyright www.bionicbasil.com

Ah, the good old days when I was in my prime, or as I like to call it, my epically epic era! MOL

Remembrance Sunday

[Wing Commander Basil and his 1943 Ford Jeep]

Today we give thanks to all the brave soldiers and anipals who lost their lives.

If it wasn't for them, our future today would be furry different.

We salute mew all

Battle of Passchendaele: 31 July - 6 November 1917

The P.A.'s Grandfather fought in the Battle of Passchendaele; he was shot by German soldiers who thought he was dead, and he was thrown in a mass grave. Luckily, another German soldier saw him move and pulled him free. He was then taken to a German POW camp, where his leg was amputated below the knee. He got gangrene, and a second amputation was carried out; he was finally released after many months as part of a prisoner exchange.

Upon finally returning home, the remainder of his leg was removed almost to the hip, and he used a wooden leg, enabling him to walk, but he did more than walk; he literally built a business from nothing, had a family, and left a legacy.

Though he never spoke much about his ordeal, the P.A.'s Great Aunty learned of the horrors he suffered, which is why we know his history today.

Grandpa Fred & Nana

Grandpa Fred died in 1946, when the P.A.'s mum was only 3, and the P.A.'s Grandmother was left with 5 children under 10 and a business to run. The P.A. gives thanks daily for her Grandpa's grit, courage and determination.

In honour of Grandpa Fred 1886 - 1946

On that note, we'll wish mew a blessed day, and we'll be back on the morrow, so do join us then as mew know how much we love your company.

Sunday Purrs, and don't forget to...
