Furbulous Greetings Supurr Furiends

Welcome to the BBHQ midweek news round-up!

Happy Wednesday, pawesome furiends, and thank mew so much for dropping by. Relax, get comfortable, and let’s dive into what’s been happening at BBHQ over the last few days.

Well, as we said on Sunday, it's been dull, duller, and pawsitively dulling until yesterday, when we actually had a sunny, warm day instead of wind and frigid gusts, with rain just as an added mood spoiler! MOL

The forecast for the next few days is warm, warmer, much warmer and perhaps even scorchio, but we'll let mew know if that prediction actually comes to pass! MOL

What’s the weather like in your corner of the world this week?

>^.^<

 The Bottle Brush Tree

This is the P.A.'s latest garden purrchase. Now there's a little story here. Way, way, way back in 2011, she was in Tasmania, way down under, and she saw many bottle brush shrubs and instantly loved them. She went and bought some seeds, brought them all the way back to the U.K. and gave them to her dad to grow.

They didn't - it was a huge fail! MOL

Anyhoo, last week at the garden centre, she peered up the rise (it's on a slope) and sticking out above everything was this tree.

The P.A. was like a moth to a flame, and before Cat Dad knew what had happened, said tree was winging its way to BBHQ!

A vibrant red bottlebrush plant in full bloom stands beside a wooden lattice in a sunny garden. Numerous cylindrical flower spikes and dense green foliage fill the scene, with other plants and a partly cloudy blue sky in the background.

 Super Fairy Rambling Rose

This is the new rambling rose, bought for the garden arch; it'll take a couple of years to really cover it.

We shared it last October, not long after it had been planted.

And it's grown quite well, so it must like where it is. We'll give mew updates as it rambles over the arch, we are so excited to see how it will look... eventually! MOL

A cluster of soft pink roses in full bloom hangs from a leafy green stem in a lush garden. The flowers range from pale to medium pink, with delicate layered petals and visible centres, set against blurred greenery in the background

 Raspberry Ripple Roses

This is still one of the P.A.'s favourite roses in the garden. Yes, all the roses are all meautiful, but this striped one is next level!

A vibrant raspberry‑pink and red variegated rose in full bloom stands out against lush green foliage. The petals display striking striped and swirled colouring, with a small rosebud nearby and a dark fence in the background.

She bought a yellow version last year, but until she goes into one of the flower beds and does some severe weeding, we're not sure if it survived. We'll let mew know.

Something weird happened on Monday, Fudge's Magical Menagerie post seemed to be missing, then it appeared later, so if mew missed meeting Glimmer, one of Level 16's supurr cute magical creatures, click here to catch up!

Anyhoo, let's look at this week's top headlines.

First up in the news this week

Tea Time with The B Team

“Four cats eat from individual bowls lined up along a wall on a wooden floor. From left to right: Parsley, a black cat; Smooch, a white cat with black patches; Fudge, an orange tabby; and Pandora, a tortoiseshell. Additional bowls of water and dry food sit nearby, with striped rugs beside the feeding area.

Tea time with four of The B Team, and just look at Fudge, eyeing Pandora's dish, rather suspiciously, the little snack monster!!! MOL

That's so Fudge!!!

Next up in the news

Amber's in The Basket

An orange‑and‑white cat named Amber is curled up in a woven basket lined with a grey plaid blanket. The basket sits beside white wooden railings in a softly lit indoor space, creating a warm and cosy scene.

Meanwhile, Amber was reclining upstairs in her favourite basket... she'd already had tea ealier while the heathens were outside, and then the P.A. carried her upstairs! MOL

In Other News

Pixie Near The Duck Pond

A black‑and‑white cat named Pixie lies on a flat stone slab that extends over the edge of a small blue garden pond. She looks down toward the water while surrounded by lush greenery, garden ornaments including a stone duck, and natural outdoor textures

Well, here's a nice surprise, this is Pixie, Smooch's mum. She lives with Nanny and Grampaw, and this is the little pond, aka paddling pool, that the P.A. put up last year for the ducks.

Pixie was just checking that the on- and off-ramps were still in good order before the pool was emptied and refilled, ready for the imminent arrival of the ducks.

If mew click the link above, mew can see the ducks. They are so funny, they waddle about everywhere. Cat Dad sometimes has to get out the lollipop on the forecourt so they can cross safely!!! MOL

Finally this week

Melvyn's Modelling The Top Bandana Pick

Bugs and Bugs won by a landslide, and here's Melvyn doing his supurr meowdel thing! MOL

“A white‑and‑dark‑brown cat named Melvyn sits on a reflective countertop wearing a bright red bandana with green trim and a colourful cartoon bugs‑and‑cars design. The background shows a softly lit kitchen with cabinets and a window.

Please don't ask us what this pose is, we don't know, but we think, maybe, that Melvyn is entering his 'experimental phase!' MOL MOL MOL

We asked him, and he told us to fluff right off, because we wouldn't understand... fair enough! MOL

Check out Melvyn strutting his stuff on your preferred social media channel:

  1. The plants with "bottle brush" style flowers are amazing. Then again, you seem to work great magic in your garden there.

How nice to have a pond for ducks at Nanny and Grampaw's house.

Melvyn, you are just being you, which works well. I hope we get to see mice cream next time.

  2. You all have so very much going on in your lives. What fun you must have in your garden with those beautiful roses. I'll send over my herd of deer and they will not get rid of your weeds but they will truly enjoy the flowers. Love seeing that Amber had her tea before everyone else and she should and she's pretty much the queen.
