Hello gorgeous library guests
and
Welcome to the Mewton-Clawson Library at BBHQ
Thank mew for joining me in the stacks today, and did mew miss me? I know I missed mew all terribly, but I did have my books to keep me company and I did manage to acquire, and mew notice I use the wurd acquire, some new reading material to share with mew and what a line-up I've procured.
Melvyn will be sharing a few carefully curated posts as part of his ongoing internship, well if I don't let him do some reviews then I won't have any free help and I'm not getting any younger and the library keeps getting bigger, well mew what I'm trying to say.
I have no budget for staff, in fact, I have no budget for books either!
Mew know it's quite tiring for a cat of my advanced years to be constantly having to come up with ingenious ideas for library funding and book buying, especially since Parsley has now invested in Crypto-Currency and his password to his digital wallet is something like 28 characters long, so I've got no chance of cracking that, and I tried all the usual things like;
parsleyisabigsoftyreally
Ilovefriskiesonfridays
whatthefluffispuse
mycarisahummerwitharocket
idriveatankontuesdays
fudgeisatotalgingernutter
smoochpeesonrandomthings
whostuckacarrotupthechimney
melvynlikespinkandglitter
pandoraisacovertspyforthemilitary

It's not like the good old days when some cat would just leave their credit card about, and I could go shopping as and when I liked and it was all ok, (well until the credit card statement arrived).
Now I'm having to think of scams, and if I'm honest they don't always wurk and I really don't enjoy it. It's very wearing and there's only so many times I can call up B Team memfurs pretending to be an overseas charity running an orphanage for kittens in Katmandoo or wherever, and can they donate via our PayPal account to help the starving orphans... I know shame on me, but how else am I supposed to keep the library going? **ashamed ears**
Mew know it wouldn't be so bad if I could get a literary agent and publishing deal for my incredible memoirs, but sadly literary agents and publishers don't seem to be taking real library cats very seriously right now. Shame on them!
So if any of mew know any literary agents, do send them my way.
But all that aside it's EPICALLY EPIC to be back!
1. Every fall I _________.
2. It is never too early to _________.
3. I would describe my lifestyle as _________.
4. _________ requires a lot of patience.
The P.A.'s answers are...
1. Every fall I love to watch the changing colours, I always promised myself that I would visit Canada in the Autumn/Fall, and go on a trip through the Rocky's but sadly thus far I have never made it in that season.
2. It is never too early to start thinking about Catmas, I know we haven't even got to Meowoleen yet, but that will be here in the blink of an eye.
3. I would describe my lifestyle as moderately eccentric, and at other times intensely boring.
4. Sewing requires a lot of patience. Especially if you sew a seam wrong and have to unpick it all, and particularly if it's silk or another delicate fabric. I used to make evening gowns and there was many a time when I could have quite literally thrown the dress on the floor and jumped on it when things didn't go according to plan! LOL
Today, as it's the last Friyay of the month, we're also joining in the furrbulous
This is my epic Photo Fails offering!
Obviously this wasn't my favourite cat in a hat picture! MOL
Let's see what I've got to show mew to kick off the new season!
This week's top book pick is...

Death Overdue: A Haunted Library Mystery
by
Allison Brook
Here's a little snippet of the book blurb:
Carrie Singleton is just about done with Clover Ridge, Connecticut until she is offered a job as the head of programs and events at the spooky local library, complete with its own librarian ghost. Her first major event is a program presented by a retired homicide detective, Al Buckley, who claims he knows who murdered Laura Foster, a much-loved part-time library aide who was bludgeoned to death 15 years earlier. As he invites members of the audience to share stories about Laura, he suddenly keels over and dies.
Now my regular readers know I'm a big fan of Miranda James, so I was delighted when this was recommended to me, and what was even better I got to listen to it for free with my Audible subscription.
So what did I think of this new cozy mystery discovery? Although a little slow to start, once it got going I was pleasantly riveted with good action, nice plot pacing and plenty of red herrings, which of course are mandatory in any cozy mystery.
There were plenty of interesting characters, including Smoky Joe the library cat and a ghost, all in a nice country town setting. And I'm looking forward to further books to see what happens next in the series, and there are five so far which pleases me immensely, as mew know I love a series which goes on and on and on.
In my humble opinion, a great start to a new series. Try it and let me know what mew think, or if mew've already read it, tell me your thoughts?

I really hope mew enjoy the book as much as I did if mew decide to read it.
It's time fur me to say BFN or bye-fur-now as mew know the drill, so many books, so little time and I'll be back next week with another specially paw-picked book just for mew, and don't furget that all my previous reviews can be found on my Book Review page.
