Hello gorgeous library guests and welcome to my private library.

I do hope mew are all staying and home and staying safe if mew can, and for all those on the front-line we at BBHQ salute mew, and give much thanks for your continued fight in this war against covid-19.

Today the P.A. has temporarily closed her garage business for the next few weeks.  Her grandfather started the business in 1924 and in all those years it hasn't ever had to close for anything even when its been flooded its still been open with business as usual happening, in fact in WWII the war office tried to confiscate all 6 petrol pumps off the forecourt as fuel was severely rationed, but Grampa Fred still stayed open.

A completely contactless service has been operating for the last two weeks with extra PPE [purrsonal protection equipment] and cleaning implemented to keep staff and customers safe, and the staff still wanted to continue to work and to stay open next week.  So it's been a real hard week with tough decisions to make, and the P.A. and dad decided that today at noon the gates will shut to keep everyone safe as cases are on the increase; last night in Nottinghamshire the number was up to 94, double what it was a few days ago.

Therefore we will be holed up in our compound at BBHQ for the next few weeks, only venturing out locally on short recon missions for necessities, such as; cat food, kibble and catnip, oh and food for the P.A. and dad too!

We've been watching how some peeps are just carrying on as normal without a care, refusing to comply with our Governments rules.  What selfish, stupid flufftards; these are the morons spreading it around.  We can only stop the spread when the virus doesn't have any more hosts to infect, and the way to do this is to stay the fluff away from everyone, STAT!

1. My favorite outdoor activity is walking/hiking and then gardening.

2. One positive aspect of social isolation is it helps stop the spread of this deadly virus.

3. It’s fortunate that I really like my own company, actually I am a bit of a recluse under normal circumstances.

Discover the answers to these and an awful lot of other brilliant questions frequently asked at the Science Museum in this wonderfully funny and informative book.

I was a little skeptical when I furst picked up this book, but aftur getting snuggled in my nest and getting started I found it to be seriously pawesome!
Book Reviews with Amber and Melvyn #126 ©BionicBasil® Amber reading Why is Snot Green
Not only does it explain why snot is green, it is full to bursting with fun facts about space, sciency stuff, weather phenom-a-nom-noms, human anatomy, anipals, robots plus AI and oodles of other interesting things.

So if mew're looking for a fun book to entertain the youngsters in your family or even yourself during this lock-down, I would really recommend this.  Plus it makes learning fun for the youngsters with its informal approach and it has illustrations throughout.

There are more books in the series, so if mew like this one, mew can get your mittens on several others too.

Thanks Melvyn, mew picked a really great book!

Give it a whirl, mew'll be surprised at what mew might learn.

  1. I bet the unfurs around here would have loved a book like that when they were still here at home and in middle school...I bet the younger one would still have a good giggle....or maybe even the residnets where petcretary works.

*She* was able to get an oil change last Tuesday, but the hair salons are all shuttered.

Life is strange these days, and the traffic is noticeably less...but they must be out there, cause the store shelves are still bare for many things, and the senior shopping hour was as crowded as at Christmastime...social distancing?? Oopsie...

We don't need anything for now, other than fresh foods...and as far as fruit and veggies, there is plenty of that. Flour?? Forget it. Peanut butter...gone. TP? well you know! MOL!

Petcretary does have to go to her work, the nursing homes do not stop...and the peeps there need us more than ever since they cannot have visitors...the doors are locked to all but staff at the moment...try explaining that to peeps with dementia. Sigh...

Glad you are all well, and hunkered down! Hope you can open your business again, sooner than later...

  3. Do they do one called "Why is nip green?" MOL
So sorry to hear about the increase in cases in your area. It isnt as high as that around Much-Mousing, and we prey desperately each day for the staff and folks at the front line of it all, and for those that are ill or have lost friends and family.
Keep calm and stay the distance, in more ways than one. Can we do it? YES WE CAN!

  5. It is a shame that the business has had to shut for the first time in nearly 100 years, but the priority in these times is for everyone to stay safe.
I had to go to the hospital for an MRI scan yesterday and was amazed that we were the only 2 people wearing masks. We didn't see a single other person wearing them and we know they have confirmed cases, and 2 deaths in the hospital.

  6. It's bizarre to think that your peeps have had to go to more extreme measures for this, than for a war!!!!
Please keep safe, and keeping your employees and customers safe is paramount.
We too are in that spike of cases; it makes me anxious but The Hubby talks me down each time, bless him.

  9. I'm so sorry to hear about the increase in COVID-19 cases in your area. I at this point, living in an area that only has a few cases, still laugh a bit at the war comparisons. However, I do realize Iery lucky in this respect.

    The book sounds very cool!

  10. Your library must be such a wonderful place to be. The concept of "So many books, so little time!" really sums up my to-read list. And thank you for joining in on the Friendly Fill-Ins! I really relate to your #3. Isolation isn't something that causes me much issue, if I'm being honest. I love spending my days inside, with just my furbabies. Well wishes!
