Hello gorgeous library guests
and
Welcome to the Mewton-Clawson Library at BBHQ
Thank mew for joining me in the stacks today for my furst book review of the current season. I have to say I really did miss mew all while I was off on my jolly's, well not really a vacation but more of a staycation due to the current wurld-climate. Though it did give me a chance to overhaul the library and make a few new graphics, which I think are really nifty and I was even kind enough to even include the library mice, well actually they threatened me with months of strike action unless they got a pay rise, some really nice cheese and more blog time, the little squeakers literally had me by the whiskers!
Howeffur, in a most serendipitous turn of fortune for moi, one of Parsley's secret cash stashes appeared just when I needed it the most.
He'd hidden a bundle deep within the Politics section; well who wants to read books about that, nopurrdy here that's for sure but sadly for poor Parsley in a really bizarre turn of events when the mice started their micro picket-line in the 'P' section, they accidentally knocked a book off the Politics shelf. The insides of that purrticular book had been hollowed out to make a secret cash-stash, very clever of Parsley but not sneaky enough! MOL
So like any good employer, I said to my extremely disgruntled and ready to revolt staff.
"Hark, the great mouse gods have heeded your call and bestowed upon mew much wonga so pack your picket-line away and get back to wurk NOW!"
So if mew see any mice scurrying about, don't wurry they're probably chasing up overdue books and looking for Melvyn who's usually shirking off in the Weapons Section; mew know these young interns just don't want wurk today, they want to be the director within the furst week with a salary to match! 1. _________ was a very good year.
2. Whenever I _________, I
_________.
3. I look forward to ________
this time of year.
4. _________ creeps me out.
The P.A.'s answers are...
1. 2017 was a very good year, I got to go to Blogpaws in South Carolina and meet the most wonderful peeps ever!
2. Whenever I look at photo's of Basil, every day, I smile to myself as I can't believe what he has inspired and then I feel so sad that he didn't have more time, though at the same time I feel so blessed that he waited for me to rescue him and I got to be his mum for 14 years and we created all this crazy catness together. It's very bittersweet for me.
3. I look forward to Halloween this time of year, I love autumn/fall. And I love to see the changing colours of the trees although I must admit I'm not a fan of the cold winter days ahead and will look forward with much vigour to spring again in the new year.
4. Clowns and mime artists creep me out, especially the ones that want to get right in your face.
Let's see what I've got to show mew this time!
This week's top book pick is...

If It Fits, I Sits: The Ultimate Cat Quote Book
by
Brooke Jorden
Here's a little snippet of the book blurb:
Cats are known (and loved) for their peculiarities, from the predictable to the utterly perplexing. The world's greatest minds pay tribute to the world's most peculiar pets. Quotes from cat-lovers and cat-toleraters alike, If It Fits, I Sits is a new kind of quote book about what these feline friends and fiends bring to our lives.
This particular book was recommended to me by our fabulous friends Crystal and Daisy Mae early in the summer and I was supurr eager to get my mittens on it, thank mew both so much for the tip!
So what did I think to; If It Fits, I Sits: The Ultimate Cat Quote Book, in a nutshell, I really really enjoyed it.
The photo's and cute illustrations are awesome and the quotes are funny but oh so true, as any cat lover will tell mew if they have read this book too, one of the P.A's favourites is;
Cat Lovers Turn Into Cat Collectors by Greg Kinnear, never a truer phrase was spoken! MOL
If mew're looking for a small but fun and colourful coffee table book, this has got your name all over it. It would also make an epic gift for any cat lover mew may know, so if mew're looking for a gift this would be purrfect.

I really hope mew enjoy the book as much as I did if mew decide to read it.
It's time fur me to say BFN or bye-fur-now as mew know the drill, so many books, so little time and I'll be back next week with another specially paw-picked book just for mew, and don't furget that all my previous reviews can be found on my Book Review page.
Until next time...
Keep calm and read more books

That sounds like a really good book sweet Amber and your library looks fantastic! Tell your P.A. those were good answers and we were so happy to meet her in 2017!
ReplyDeleteGreat new header and artwork you have there. Is there an image of a ready to pounce (or as is more likely around here, a sleeping) cat too? Thank goodness those mice are gamefully employed! Now, as to the book, well it sounds a great Christmas treat, though I doubt it'll fit Mrs H's Christmas stockings without putting a ladder in them, MOL

Amber that book is a must have, I think!! It would make the peeps here MOL, they need more of that! I think your mice came here to look for more pay in the form of free nibbles...they got into the pantry...yikes! This old house is a mouse magnet when the weather gets colder and wet...
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop sweet Amber!
ReplyDeleteWe never get enough time with our furry friends, do we?
ReplyDeleteAmber, nice graphics, and those mice may be a pain, but they certainly helped you this time!
Well done, Amber. You did a great job on this review.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.
Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend. My best to your mom. ♥
Great review, Amber. And I love yoor new look. And the library looks fascinating. I bet it smells really good in there too. Autumn is my momma's favorite color, so she's feeling cranky cuz there isn't an autumn at our new home. So her friends are sending her photos of trees they see in their neighborhood. Loved the answers to yoor questions too! Hugs, Dori
ReplyDeleteWe love the new library look and P.A. your answers made Dad reflect on me and myself and how our lives together have also caused a blog and others to come into the fold. Oh and this fine blog was a great influence on us too. Thanks. Amber this looks like one we need to add to our library. Purrs my friends
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a lovely book, Amber, and well done on finding Parsley's stash.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the PA, clowns really creep me out!
I have Eric and Flynn's photos all over the place and constantly talk to them and give them a smile. I never go to bed without looking out thee window at their graves and saying goodnight to them, so I know how the PA feels.
Welcome back Amber! I missed you. You should just eat the mice and be done with them. I have that book, it is cute. Thank you to the PA for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I am sorry she didn't have more time with Basil, there is never enough time with those we love. XO
ReplyDeleteGreat review, Amber. That sounds like one we'd like to check out, for sure.
ReplyDeleteWe love your new Book Reviews with Amber header photo!
