Hello gorgeous library guests
and
Welcome to the Mewton-Clawson Library at BBHQ
Thank mew for joining me in the stacks today, and oh my gosh, I can't believe it's World Book Day again so soon! MOL
World Book Day Secrets Revealed
In celebration, I'll impart a little bookish secret, well more of a confession in honour of such an auspicious day, but mew can't tell anyone, ok? Take a breath and say it quickly... right, in total, I have 500+ audiobooks on my iPod; I've got about 15 on there that are in the queue to be listened to next, but the rest are finished. I'm sure that's not so many, but then I have no clue what other cats reading/listening habits/book addictions are like.
Swiftly moving on from the confession zone, I think a nice little distraction is in order; as it was such lovely weather at the weekend, I thought I'd share a lovely, vibrant throwback photo from the summer of 2015 when I didn't mind going outside. Well, only if it was 23 degrees and above! MOL
Appurrently, the temperatures are going to drop dramatically this weekend, oh joy and vinegar, mew'll find me next to the woodburner for the next few days!
**Mews Flash**
Oh, mew'll never believe what happened on Wednesday; Smooch was supposed to go for his tooth out, only it was discovered that he'd smuggled a bag of Dreamies into his bedroom Tuesday evening and scoffed them all during the night, so he couldn't have the surgery as it needed to be nil by mouth from 8pm.
So he's there this morning, and paws crossed all goes well; we'll have an update on Sunday.
Today the P.A. is also joining in Friday Fill-ins Blog Hop with the pawesome 15 & Meowing and Four-Legged Furballs.
1. Nothing is better than _________.
2. I _________ my _________ in _________.
3. _________ makes me feel energized.
4. I would advise others to _________.
The P.A.'s answers are...
1. Nothing is better than cats; it really is that simple! Books are pretty epic too and crafting, and sewing, and making stuff! LOL
2. I like my coffee in the morning. Only I have to have decaf now as caffeine doesn't like me anymore and causes anxiety. It took me 3 years of endless pursuit trying to overcome crippling anxiety only to finally discover that caffeinated coffee was the culprit/cause/trigger - strange but true, so if you have anxiety, maybe try not having caffeine and see how you go.
3. Working out makes me feel energized. I love to exercise, always have from being a kid, and I'm slowly rebuilding my strength after my accident, but as I'm older, it's taking more time.
4. I would advise others to try and be as happy as they can in the circumstances we're in, and hope the vaccine can bring some normality back to us all.
Let's see what I've got to show mew this time!
This week's top book pick is...

Cat in the Stacks Mystery Book 4
by
Miranda James
Here's a little snippet of the book blurb:
The Ducote sisters are in a tiff with Vera Cassity over the location of Athena, Mississippi's annual library fundraising gala, and Charlie would rather curl up in a corner than get into the fray. It seems everyone—even his housekeeper Azalea—has it in for Vera. And at the gala, she gives them good reason, with a public display of rancor aimed at anyone who gets in her way.
Good gravy, I can't tell mew how delighted I was to see more books in The Cat in the Stacks series land at Audible; I've waited for ages for these to be added to the UK platform, and a couple of weeks ago when I checked new ones were there ~ WOOOOO HOOOOOO!
I really enjoyed the furst three and was quite hissed off when I saw that I couldn't get the audio versions aftur I'd finished those three, but more of the series were available on the US platform, obviously something to do with book rights.
So anyhoo, book 4 continues on from book 3 - I've just realised I didn't review book 3, File M for Murder, so I'll do that one in a couple of weeks. So back to book 4, it's another great read/listen with oodles of suspects, plus lots of twists and turns and red herrings to find the real culprit.
I think Miranda James has such a great formula for an easy read/listen cozy mystery; they never disappoint or fail to entertain. There's always a gaggle of interesting characters, and the main cast gets more interesting as we learn more about them.
If mew love a cozy mystery, this is definitely for mew!
Audio: 8 hours 10 mins

Overall Enjoyment
I really hope mew enjoy the book as much as I did if mew decide to read it.
It's time for me to say BFN or bye-fur-now as mew know the drill, so many books, so little time and I'll be back next week with another specially paw-picked book just for mew, and don't furget that all my previous reviews can be found on my Book Review page.
Until next time...
Keep calm and read more books.

Good answers to those fill-in questions and that was a mighty good review sweet Amber! Okay Smooch, ya gotta get it over with pal, no more sneaking snacks!
ReplyDeleteAmber if petcretary was clueless about what to read, she for sure would have to consult you, you sure know your books!
ReplyDeleteSmooch, what a little rascal!! Its not funny, but it IS funny:)
I enjoyed reading your fill ins. Wisdom is there:)
Smooch, how could you!
ReplyDeleteGreat review, Amber. That does sound like a good series of books.
Love your fill-ins as always. You're all so very smart.
ReplyDeleteI love to read. There's nothing better than the smell of a good book. We have two large bookcases and they are loaded to the brim with books.
Have a fabulous day and weekend. Hug to mom and scritches all around. ♥
Smooch that was a bad kitty and you should do what doctor says and be brave and smart like we know you are. Great answers
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop sweet friends!
ReplyDeleteSeems like most of our friends so far have felt like Dad (He did the first two.)
ReplyDelete500 Wow! That is a LOT. Dad may give that a go. We actually have an early Joe Gray book on Cassette. Can you imagine! Dad says that if it was 50 years ago we may have books on 8-tracks whatever they were. Purrs Amber. We read this one and liked it a LOT
Oh my...it sounds so very chilly where you are!!
ReplyDeleteMama does love reading, and sometimes she plays her books on her phone so we can "read" too!
Thanks for joining our Nature Friday Hop!
xoxo,
The LLB Gang
Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I totally agree about cats, not so much about exercise. :) Amber, that is a lot of books- good for you. And this one you reviewed sounds fantastic. XO
ReplyDeleteWe love the Cat in the Stacks books !
ReplyDeleteOddly enough, our human finds that exercising increases her anxiety. She is much happier with a cup of coffee, a donut and a book !
Smooch, I hope everything went well for you today. Sending healing thoughts. Amber, that book sounds fun.
ReplyDeleteYou're one clever kitty, Smooch! We love the Cat in the Stacks series, and that's quite a book collection!
ReplyDeleteCaffeine is not my friend either; gives me severe pain!
ReplyDeleteI drink herb teas and some green teas, but I learn quickly when I've gone over my limit.
Thank you for sharing your fun and fantastic library with us! And thank you for joining in on the Friendly Fill-Ins! You sure are right about cats being the best, as well as books, crafts, and all those wonderful things. I'm like you and I actually really enjoy working out. A couple years ago I discovered a love for kickboxing, thought exercising in any way can help a person stay healthy, and that's what matters. Have a wonderful week!
