Hello gorgeous library guests
and
Welcome to the Mewton-Clawson Library at BBHQ
Thank mew for joining me in the stacks today, and this week I was fortunate enough to discover the catnip hearts in the conservatory. They'd been hiding in the bottom condo of the tall cat tree in the corner, and I was the lucky finder.
After I'd nodded off on the sofa, Melvyn then found them and promptly slobbered all over them, rendering them extremely icky and most definitely untouchable!
Oh, and he started to rip the bottom out of the snuggle buddy the other day too, the P.A. just managed to save it before this happened again. #thuglife
I'm going to have serious wurds with Basil next time he pops in from the RB about his great, great, great-nephews issues, anyhoo enough of that, I do hope mew're all having an epic week, and I can't wait to share this week's books, so let's hop to it.
Today the P.A. is also joining in Friday Fill-ins Blog Hop with the pawesome 15 & Meowing and Four-Legged Furballs.
1. I look forward to _________ every spring.
2. The highlight of my week was _________.

The P.A.'s answers are...
1. I look forward to lighter nights, daffodils & tulips etc, cherry blossom and the trees budding in anticipation of summer every spring.
2. The highlight of my week was getting a notification for my covid vaccine.
3. I think eccentric is the word that best describes me.
4. Nothing melts my heart like my cats.
Let's see what I've got to show mew this time!
This week's top book pick is...
The London Eye Mystery
by
Siobhan Dowd
Here's a little snippet of the book blurb:
11.32am. Ted and his sister Kat watch their cousin Salim get on board the London Eye. The pod rises from the ground, high above the city.
12.02am. The pod lands and the doors open. Everyone exits - everyone but Salim.
Has he spontaneously combusted? (Ted's theory.)
Has he been kidnapped? (Aunt Gloria's theory.)
Is he even still alive? (The family's unspoken fear.)
Even the police are baffled - so it's up to Ted, whose brain runs on its own unique operating system, to solve this mystery and find Salim.

Today for a change, I'm sharing a young adult novel with mew, which has a really well thought out plot and is a superbly executed book; even Fudge wanted in on the action, his tail nearly managed to engulf it and sneak it away - steady on there dude!
Ted, our protagonist is autistic and is utterly brilliant in his reasoning, and deduction skills, an ability which others don't possess; mew know I don't do spoilers though I will say his character is tremendously well written, as are all the characters in this novel. The story is very compelling and a proper page-turner as Ted slowly puts the pieces together of his cousin's strange and seemingly impossible disappearance.
It is a really intriguing mystery with excellently crafted suspense, so if mew love a roller coaster ride, then mew'll really enjoy this. And I can definitely say I want to read more by this author.
