Hello gorgeous library guests
and
Welcome to the Mewton-Clawson Library at BBHQ
Thank mew for joining me in the stacks today, I can't stay long as my epically epic birthday pawty is still raving in the bunker and even if I do say so myself, it's the best pawty ever! MOL
I did take a little break to do a spot meowga the other day, as I've eaten far too much cake and drank far too many niptini's but then at my grand old age, I need to celebrate as much a pawsible!
So let's dive into what's happening in the library this week.
1. My main concern right now is _________.
2. I plan to _________ for Halloween this year.
3. If I saw a ghost, I would _________.
4. This time of year, _________ is a personal tradition of mine.
The P.A.'s answers are...
1. My main concern right now is trying to find staff to hire for my business. Apparently, nobody wants a job.
2. I plan to do nothing for Halloween this year. Sadly I'm not feeling a vibe for it at all.
3. If I saw a ghost, I would - funnily enough I live in a haunted house, so ghosts don't bother me. Now if it was a big, hairy scary monster I'd probably run away very fast! LOL
4. This time of year, collecting pine cones is a personal tradition of mine.
Today, as it's the last Friyay of the month, we're also joining in the furrbulous...
This months fail is from October 2016 when I really didn't want to be a witch, and I was trying to shake the hat off.
Let's see what I've got to show mew this time!
This week's top book pick is...

Spells and Spiced Latte

Here's a little snippet of the book blurb:
Can a witch who can only cast one spell solve a murder?
Maddie Goodwell, Trixie, her Persian cat (who might also be her familiar), and Maddie’s best friend Suzanne Taylor, run their coffee truck, Brewed from the Bean, in the small town of Estherville, Washington state.
Maddie always thought it was a sleepy kind of town, apart from the fact that when she was seven, she found an ancient book, Wytchcraft for the Chosen.
Now, twenty years later, she can only cast one spell successfully from the book – the Coffee Vision spell.
As mew know I supurr partial to a cozy mystery, especially one with a cat and a dash of magic, so this book ticked all the boxes.
A really fun little story, not overly complicated but enticing enough to keep mew reading. The main characters are interesting, and the kitty, Trixie is very cute. The plot rattles along with some interesting twists and turns.
If mew're looking for a new cozy series to try, this one has six to read, so even though the actual book-length isn't too long, mew can get another helping straight away. A purrfect Sunday afternoon read.

I always have a birthday week, but I have a friend that has a birthday month. I think she has a better idea than I do.
ReplyDeleteLove all your fill-ins. You're right there are so many that don't want to work. So sad.

ReplyDeleteI am dying to hear more about your haunted house!
ReplyDeleteI've encountered a few spirits in my time, and my sister is keenly sensitive; I try to help her deal with her gifts, as she's afraid of what she sees.
You didn't look at all happy wearing that hat, Amber.
ReplyDeleteLove your answers.
ReplyDeleteAmber, that photo is too cute to be a fail. You are a beautiful witch. Nice review too, the book sounds interesting. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. That seems to be a problem everywhere with finding workers, I hope you can find some. I just picked some pine cones for a project at Cat Scouts. Have a nice weekend. XO

ReplyDeleteWorkers seem to be the latest thing that no one can find...too bad we just cannot go to the employee store and get as many as we need, sigh...
ReplyDeleteAmber we think you look so cute in that witch hat! Way better than us...LOL!
Coffee Vision, huh, I wonder if that is a bit like decaf? MOL
ReplyDeleteAnyways, that does sound like it has potential to excell in the cossy reads section of our stack, so I'll get Mrs H to spalsh for me. ;)
