What a scorchio few days. It's been so hot that not a lot has been really happening at BBHQ other than staying indoors and keeping cool, and we've been working on our latest craft project, which will be revealed later this week.

The winner of Melvyn's Birthday Giveaway

Jumping Juniperberries it's Fluffing Scorchio
He said, "Jumping Juniperberries it's fluffing scorchio. Any chance mew could carry me back indoors?"
The P.A. promptly snaffled him in her arms and hurried back inside, where he spent the afternoon in front of the fan, having his fur ruffled by a gentle breeze.
Finally this week
The Garden Has Dried Up
Fudge was outside later on Monday evening when it was a litter cooler and was really sad to see that all the plants and flowers look really sad.
The lawn is like a scorched tinder box; even some trees are dropping their leaves to survive.
Here's hoping it cools down as the week progresses and we start to get a few rain showers, although huge rainstorms with copious amounts of water can fluff off, as that kind of rainfall will flood everything. And we don't need any of that drama.
And finally, before we go, we'd just like to say a huge congratulations to all the Certificate of Excellence winners from the Cat Writer's Association!!!
That's us done for today. We'll be back tomorrow with this year's Crafting for Your Shelters post, and Amber will be back on Caturday with a surprise book review. And if mew missed Monday's post, click here to catch up on The Complete Guide to Growing Catnip.
Epic purrs
Y'all are such characters! Hooray for the winner!!!
ReplyDeleteStay cool y'all!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Jess and Bella and Mango for the win! Nice to see you, Smooch and Fudge. Try to stay cool, sweet friends. We are so worried about you and our other pals in Europe -- that heat wave is so scary. XO
ReplyDeleteConcats to the winner!!
ReplyDeleteAnd we sure hope your temps will moderate back to normal, really soon. Sorry that your garden got so scorched :(
Congrats to the winner. Thankfully we have lower temperatures today and it is overcast. We do have 99% humidity this morning though. I hope none of the fires are near you. Most of the fires this way are moorland, most likely caused by people being careless with BBQs!
ReplyDeleteConcats to the winner!
ReplyDeleteWe are currently in a hot week, where the temps are up over 90F/32C.
Our yard is dry, and plants are withering. No rain of any appreciable amount predicted, just quick thunderstorms that race over.
Hope your heat has now disappeared!
Congratulations to the winner. That's an epic win.
ReplyDeleteSo you went outside and were happy to get back inside. All's well that ends well.
Have a purrfect day and rest of the week. Scritches all around and a hug to mom. ♥
Marvelous pictures of Smooch and Fudge! Concatulations to the winner! I hope y'all's temperatures come down soon. We've been hot but not as hot as Britain has been recently.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the lucky winner! It is hot and dry here too. I can't wait for fall. Please tell Amber to check her email. XO
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to the winners! Smooch, what the fluff were you thinking!?! That's too bad about your garden. Fudge's face says it all. Hopefully you'll get a gentle rain and some cooler weather.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the winner, BBHQ has the bestest loot! It seems to be hot everywhere, so stay cool kitties and hope for a nice light refreshing rain.
