Hello gorgeous library guests

and

Welcome to the Mewton-Clawson Library at BBHQ

Thank mew for joining me in the stacks again today; and it's been quite a slow and sedate week at BBHQ, so much in fact that I even rearranged a couple of shelves in the library, and mew'll be seeing my discovery further down the post.

So anyhoo, after the shelf-shuffle, I decided to check out the BBHQ picture archives, and I found this fabulous foto from July 2017, and what a lovely summer that was, endless days of deliciously warm temperatures.

Book Reviews with Amber #164 ©BionicBasil® Dreaming of Summer

And I thought I could do with another warm summer like that to ease my weary bones, mew know getting older isn't a lot of fun, and my arthritis is starting to catch up with me a little. So bring on the sunshine and let me bask.

Oh, don't forget to check out the Fast, Furry and Dangerous rerun; we shared part 3 yesterday just in case mew missed it. Mew know I love rereading the adventures, they're just so exciting, and it was like yesterday when it all happened for real here at BBHQ!

And it was actually my idea to share this rerun, so I do hope mew're all enjoying it. I keep going on at the P.A. to get it turned into a book, though she just smiles, nods and says she's wurking on it.

Ah well, one day it'll happen. Let's hope it's not too long though.

Today the P.A. is also joining in Friday Fill-ins Blog Hop with the pawesome 15 & Meowing and Four-Legged Furballs.
1. I wish I knew how to play _________.

2. If offered a free trip to space, I would _________.

3. _________ is the most exciting thing in my life right now.

4. I could give a long lecture on the topic of _________.

The P.A.'s answers are...

1. I wish I knew how to play chess, it's one game I really regret not learning as a child. And throughout my adult-ish-hood I've often said to myself, you should really teach yourself to play, and maybe one day I'll be in the right frame of mind too.

2. If offered a free trip to space, I would definitely go; to explore new frontiers though avoiding all egg-laying, chest-bursting aliens! LOL

3. Gardening and the big Spring clean-up is the most exciting thing in my life right now.

4. I could give a long lecture on the topic of crystals and gemstones, chakra healing and lots of things metaphysical. Or sewing, dressmaking, pattern cutting and design. Gardening, growing plants and flowers etc, in fact, I could gab about quite a few useful topics! LOL

Let's see what I've got to show mew this time; during my little shelf-shuffle in the library, I came across this epic read and just had to share it again today!

I Am Not A Skunk

Here's a little snippet of the book blurb:

I Am Not a Skunk is Ellen Pilch's second picture book. It is about a homeless kitty excited to find a family, but must first convince them she is not a skunk. It is loosely based on how the author's cat, Emmy came to live with her.

**Review ReRun**

I reviewed Auwnty Ellen's furst book called Prancie's Prayer in October 2018, which I heartily recommend, and I was absolutely delighted to get a surprise copy of; I Am Not A Skunk in the post.

This is such a cute book fur youngsters and adults alike, a great little story, and it has NO SKUNKS in it whatsoeffur! MOL

The illustrations are amazing and really do enhance the tale, but as mew know, I don't do spoilers here, though I will say this; I think this is purrfect to teach younger readers compassion and kindness towards anipals, and I would recommend it without hesitation, and in my humble opinion it would make a purrfect gift fur any cat lover too.

Update 2021 - I do love this book as much today as I did in my original review from May 2019, and I really enjoyed sitting and reading it again. It brought me oodles of joy!  And if mew're looking for a gift, this is just purrfect.

Thank mew Auwnty Ellen, mew are epic, and I hope mew've got a new book coming out soon!

Hello gorgeous library guests and welcome to my private library much earlier in the week than normal, though there is a furry good reason fur this.

Last week I got a wunderful surprise in the post from my lovely Auwnty Ellen who writes the fabulous blog 15&Meowing, anyhoo I digress so in the envelope was her latest book fur younger readers which I thought was absolutely pawesome.

So I thought, fantastic I can review that next week... and then it hit me, not literally just figuratively that I only had one more review to go before my summer vay-cay and that was already booked up and had been fur a couple of weeks.

OMC, mew can imagine my horror when I realised I hadn't got a spare slot before my impending jolly hollies - OH MY WHAT A TODO!

So I had a little meltdown, while I considered my options...

Then it hit me again, not literally just figuratively that I'd have an inbetweener slot, so here we are with review 99.5! MOL

ENJOY!!!!

Feline Fiction on Fridays at Amber's Library featuring ~ **Prancie's Prayer ** by Ellen J. Pilch ~ Review #75

Hello gorgeous library guests and welcome to my private library

Happy Friday guys and how's your week been?

OH MY COD, my week was going swimmingly well until the P.A. saw that I was drinking rather a lot earlier in the week, so I was whizzed up to the vets on Wednesday morning fur a check-up - PFFFFFFTTTTTTTTT!!!

Anyhoo, I had a little kidney inflammation, so I had a blood test done and effurything was in their normal parameters except fur one of my kidney enzymes which was slightly elevated, so they did another test and the good news is all my levels are spot on - PHEW!

So I've been given a little medication to help sooth and reduce the inflammation and hopefully that will sort it out. But obviously the P.A. is watching me like a hawk and I feel like I'm under a microscope right now.

I have arthritis too, which has been monitored offur the last few months since it started to appear, but now I'm at the stage where I need a little assistance with pain management, so the vets have given me some medicine to help with that too, and with a bit of luck I should be feeling oodles better in the next few days, thank cod.

Thank mew fur all the well wishes on FB and many thanks to my beautiful sisfurs at The Crotchety Cougars Club fur purring up a healing storm fur me, ladies mew are epically epic and I love mew all - muwah - kisses to mew all.

Oh and just before we get to this weeks pawesome book, I have more good news ~ none of the other B Team memfurs have eaten my grass or pee'd on my bed, not mentioning any names, SMOOCH! MOL

And now I think it's time to share this weeks book.

This week I'm sharing

Here's the book blurb:

Prancie's Prayer is the story of an orange cat who finds herself homeless one cold winter. She has trouble finding something to eat and a warm place to sleep, but with a little help from above, she finds all of that and more in her wonderful forever home.

*    *    *

I was just admiring the cover before I settled in the Sky Lounge to read Prancie's Prayer when Fudge came in and asked...

Guess what? Fudge doesn't have a valid library card, or any library card fur that matter, so he isn't going to be reading Prancie's Prayer anytime soon! MOL

Anyhoo, let me tell mew about this gorgeous little book; it's written by our uber fab furriends from 15 and Meowing, mew should go check our their epic blog if mew haven't already, but I digress, Prancie's Prayer is such a delightful story and tells the tale of how Prancie got her furever home just before Catmas.

Abandoned and alone aftur being dumped by her previous peeps, Prancie had the extreme good fortune to arrive on the doorstep of Ellen, she really did pick the right house fur sure, and the rest is history; Prancie's purrayers were definitely answered.

There are full-page colour illustrations throughout which are absolutely amazing and really make the story come to life, and fur those of mew who have young children, grandchildren, nieces or nephews this would make a purrfect gift.  And if mew don't have any children, but love cats, I'm sure mew'd love it as much as I did.

I think this would make a pawesome gift fur Catmas, so if mew're looking for a really lovely tale, I cannot recommend Prancie's Prayer enough!

Thank mew Aunty Ellen and all at 15 & Meowing fur sending me my furry own purrsonal copy, and I've got it safely stashed away because it's all mine! MOL

15 and Meowing are having a give-away to win a copy of Prancie's Prayer on Goodreads, and mew have until the 29th of October to enter!
