Welcome to another furbulous week at BBHQ, today we're continuing our crystal journey and this time, we've got a lovely gemstone to share as Penny asked us; what is Shungite good for?

What is Shungite good for?

Shungite is a solid black crystal; it only comes in the shade of black, and the polished stone has a satin finish. It is approximately 2 billion years old, so way older than the dinosaurs, how about that! It is 98% carbon and contains trace amounts of fullerenes, which we'll talk about below. The polished stones are usually supurr smooth and very tactile. Although it looks like coal unpolished, it is actually much, much stronger, and it's only found in one mine in a remote region of Russia, Karelia.

At BBHQ, we have a few tumble stones which live in front of the computer monitors, and others are dotted around the house near electrical items, and we'll tell mew why in a moment.

Fudge really likes the energies of these crystals, as mew can see below.

Here's a little bit about the gem lore regarding this intriguing crystal. Shungite contains fullerenes which supposedly are amazing antioxidants that can attract and neutralise harmful EMF's aka electromagnetic frequencies, like wifi or just the normal electromagnetic frequencies emitted by power lines, the wiring in your home, cell phones, or TV's etc... Shungite apparently absorbs these negative frequencies/energies which can attack our DNA, hence the reason we keep ours next to the computer and other electrical items.

Wearing a piece of Shungite as a pendant or bracelet is said to create a natural forcefield around your body to help protect mew from daily EMF radiation, which is everywhere, and it assists in blocking free radicals. 

Shungite is also said to help with transformational energies, so if mew feel like mew need a bit of detox whether from devices or emotional issues, this might be a stone to explore further.  It is a very grounding stone, so if mew're feeling like mew need more structure in your life, this could help according to the books we've read.

The ideal placement for Shungite is on the Root Chakra, but as we said, it can be worn anywhere on the body for pawsitive effect.

There's so much information about this crystal, far too much for our small post today, check it out on google and mew'll find a wealth of stuff including Shungite water, although we've never tried that at BBHQ.

It is not an expensive crystal and comes in all shapes and sizes. Next time the P.A. is at the gem show she's going to get a pyramid-shaped one to add to the collection. We even have little charms on a couple of our collars.

Welcome to November and as it was Halloween yesterday, we thought we'd share our favourite spooky mandala again.

We're continuing our crystal journey, and this week, we've got a fabulous creation to share as Penny also asked us; what is orgonite good for?

What is orgonite good for?

Although orgonite is not actually a crystal, it does have crystals inside the organic resin, and they could be anything from clear quartz to a full combination of different crystals, usually the more common ones which we've talked about in our previous posts.

Here's Fudge with some of our orgonite, the tall one on the left is called a tower and the smaller ones are called cakes, although mew wouldn't want to eat them! MOL

Last week we talked about shungite and how it supposedly assists with neutralising harmful EMF frequencies, though long before we knew anything about that crystal we found out about a manmade creation called orgonite which is basically constructed from several elements usually including different types of metal filings, crystals, copper wire on occasion which is then encased in organic resin.

When we first discovered this device way back in the early 2000's, they were very basic to look at much like the small cakes above, now with all the resin art, some are absolutely extraordinary works of art.

This pyramid is one of our recent additions, with a clear quartz point wrapped in copper wire sitting on a bed of blue tourmaline chips, with a layer of copper filings.

So what is orgonite and how does it wurk we hear mew ask?

Orgone is the name given by Wilhelm Reich to a certain kind of energy found everywhere around us, especially in nature. It's like chi or prana energy, and Wilhelm discovered way, way back that the positive orgone energy enabled living things to exist in a healthy positive state, however, there is a deadly orgone energy which works in the opposite way to the good stuff. Wilhelm did oodles of research into the properties and through this research, he created the first orgone accumulator which he discovered had the properties to neutralise nuclear radiation.

And so orgonite was created. It apparently works in a similar way to shungite, supposedly ridding our environments of harmful EMF's and electromagnetic smog, thus transmuting unhealthy energy into healthy energy, creating a more vibrant environment filled with more life-giving chi or prana.

There are many benefits to having orgonite inside and outside the home such as; it's an efficient cleaner of stagnant energies, it improves sleep, reduces anxiety, removes negative energy from the environment, brings more energy in, balances moods, assist with mental calmness, helps your plants grow and lots of other positive effects. 

 

 We have the little cakes all over the house on our wifi access points & router, and all the devices which emit EMFs, so in the same places as the shungite, as we like a double whammy protection effect. We have the orgonite cakes around the garden too, around the perimeter so the energy is always delightful outside. Whenever anyone comes to BBHQ, they always comment on how serene and tranquil it feels, and often we've found that peeps are so relaxed they'll just fall asleep!

While we understand that some peeps would be very sceptical of crystals and orgonite, that's why we always encourage mew to do your own research and figure out what's best for mew on the path mew're walking. 

The P.A. and dad both keep a small piece of orgonite on them during the day, and mew can get all kinds of cute pendants and smaller pieces to wear or carry for purrsonal EMF protection, which is especially good as carrying cells phones and/or tablets etc all day and having them in close proximity to your body is not a good thing.  

There are lots of different websites to find out everything mew would need to know, as obviously we're only giving mew the cliff-notes or a little taster here.
