I'm feeling much better this week and as mew can see we've decided that Spring has Sprung as we're so sick of looking at the winter banner now! MOL
Mew may remember on Wednesday, Amber said I had a surprise fur mew. Well sadly the surprise isn't exactly fantastic, the P.A. is totally gutted and so disappointed. Let me tell mew the story...
Last June me and The Hoard bought the P.A. a ticket to Blogpaws in Myrtle Beach, as fur the previous 3 years there had been several incidents that prevented her from going. So we were determined that she had no excuse fur 2017. That said obviously me and The Horde can't go in purrson as we're from the UK, so I said to the P.A. get a cuddle clone of me made to take with mew.

So in January we went to the Cuddle Clones website and added a gazillion pictures of me and gave instructions fur my doppelganger to be made. Bearing in mind that it cost $460.00 US dollars to have it made, shipped and then the duty/VAT coming into the UK. [And it was a gift fur the P.A. from her mum].
Yesterday the box arrived and the P.A. was so furry excited, as were we, that was until she opened the box. Then this happened:
WHO IS THAT?
The P.A. wept! I wept! The Horde wept!
Like what the flip happened? They had about 15 magnificent photos of yours truly - front, both sides, rear, tail, close-ups of my face etc and this is what they produce?
Jeez dudes at the Cuddle Clone place, are mew blind?
The P.A. is emailing them to see what they have to say about it, because as far as I'm concerned it's just so not good enough fur the money paid.
What do mew guys think?
And what the flip is the P.A. going to do now, as they take up to 3 months to make!

DeleteAwww Murli and I LUVZ plush-animal cats! (She likes to cuddle with them, just like me lol) We have lots of them. I think it's totally adorable in itself, it's just not looking much like you. (I can't help but find all kitty plushies totally adorable & always have a hard time not to bring them home when I see them somewhere lol).

Hi Natascha & Murli, oh we love plush anipals too, the P.A. has a bit of a thing fur soft-toys, she even has her furry furst teddy from like a gazillion years ago!! MOL And while the plush above is kinda cute, it's supposed to look just like me! :( XOX

DeleteOMC Basil, dat's just pawful. It's cute and all, but it fur sure ain't anythin' like you. Altho' we have to be honest, we've seen a couple of those things and we didn't think they looked much like their dopplegangers either. Maybe they had a sale on gray furs and thought you wouldn't notice. We think da PA should insist on a new one as a rush order. We mean, make 'em drop everythin' and concentrate on just makin' you. Surely ifin they did dat, it wouldn't take no 3 months. Who knows, there may be some gray kitty out there wonderin' why he's brown. MOL Gotta laff right? And by da way, we's got on our bobble hat today. We're so glad you're feelin' better. Sendin' hugs and purrayers fur all.

DeleteWe're glad you're feeling better, Basil! We love the spring graphic for the parade. That representation of you is disappointing. If you tell them your Mum is taking it to BlogPaws, they might be motivated to rush things a bit on a better model (great publicity for them at the conference!!!). I haven't decided if I'm going to the conference yet, but if I do, your Mum will be on the top of my list of people to spend time with along with Erin's Peep!

DeleteGood grief! Doesn't look a cotton-pickin' thing like you Basil! Those things are HORRIBLY EXPENSIVE so they better do something about it. Wonder if they could put a BIG RUSH on a replacement (free of course!). If you can't get the clone in time - do we we do at Cat Scouts - have your P.A. make a "Flat Basil" (cardboard cutout of YOU) to take. It's better than nothing - that's how Cat Scouts visit each other and on posterboard it's easy to do. Keep us posted - hopefully you'll get another clone in time!

DeleteBasil, something has gone seriously wrong here. It does not look like you and I do know that I have seen Cuddle Clones that DO look very like their owners.
ReplyDeleteOne or two bloggers have them on their blogs so check them and see. I will be frank, cry I would scream the place down - but the acid test is how they respond to your contacting them. If they move to make it right then you can be reassured that they are doing a good job and they care.
I hope to heaven they do as this is an unconscionable about of money to layout for a bitterly disappointing experience.

DeleteI agree with Dash. Maybe there was confusion in the packing department and they sent your P.A. a kitty that was sorta like Basil. Is it pawsible that there is a Basil clone out there but with different coloring? BTW...me and my mom will also be at Blogpaws. Purrrs!

DeleteMe and my dad just looked at the Cuddle Clones site and he pointed out how the examples of their work aren't purrfect either. Look at the dog on the left. Too much white under the chin. Look at the calico kitty. Chest markings aren't right. Mom hired Felt2Rescue to make a clone of me, and she had to wait ten months. Maybe Cuddle Clones is rushing too fast to get their clones out the door. Too bad. I'd ask for my money back.

We think the P.A. should send it back. She can make a flat Basil to bring to BP. That's what our Mom has done in the past. Our mom is excited that she will get to meet yours at BP! We think you need a refund, and since you already paid all the shipping and VAT you oughtta be able to keep the mistake cat...some company did that for petcretary once when they sent her the wrong thing, they fixed the trouble and let her keep the wrong item too,MOL!
