Pawesome Friday Greetings Furriends
Welcome to the Pet Parade and our weekly news round up!
It is absolutely SCORCHIO here, it's fantastic although we could do with some regular rainfall between the hours of 12am to 5am nightly as some of our trees are shedding leaves its that dry.
So what's been happening in Mewton-Clawson we hear mew ask... well the runner beans have been decimated by slugs & snails and the peas are not that great either, don't ask about the tomatoes or lettuce and definitely not the purple broccoli. The P.A. has bought some extra slug traps which mew fill with beer, yep those slugs & snails are going to get mightily drunk, though sadly it's too late fur this years crop, but at least we'll be ready fur next year and the P.A. is going to make a new veg garden down the side of the house where it gets all the afternoon sun, so we'll be sharing that with mew when she gets started on it.
And this is what we've been doing all week in rotation! MOL
In other news the furst cut of catnip is drying under the carport, we've got four big bunches hanging and we're nearly ready fur a second cut once the flowers are out.
If mew're getting low on your catnip stash mew know where to come.
So it seems the veg garden is a total bust this year but the catnip crop is definitely bumper! MOL

How awesome that you are beginning to harvest your catnip! Ours needs some cutting back at the moment.
ReplyDeleteFresh nip is always the best!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry about the veggie garden and those rotten slugs, but I'm glad your catnip crop is doing so well - and really, isn't that the most important crop of any season?? LOL!! Enjoy it!

Sorry about the veggie crop but it sounds as if the main thing is that the catnip is plentiful. ☺
ReplyDeleteIsn't it lucky that slugs and snails don't seem to like the nip! Sorry about the veggies though.
ReplyDeleteWay too hot here even to play with catnip! What you need is a squadron of blackbirds to sort them pesky slugs and bugs and snails out. My nip turned out to be lemon balm! Yup I got fleeced by that travelling seed salesperson. Lemon nip, anyone?

I HATE slugs. But buying them a few rounds!? Hehehehehehe.
ReplyDeleteSlugs are such awful creatures. I am glad they left the nip alone :)XO
ReplyDeleteToo bad that your garden has taken a beating from the heat! Especially your cat nip!
ReplyDeleteAnd slugs...yuck...
Mom does not mind the garden variety anymore since she encountered Banana Slugs on Vancouver Island!
