Hello fabulous library guests
and
Welcome to my first review of the new season!
Thank mew for joining me in the stacks today, it's so lovely to be back in the hot seat at the Mewton-Clawson Library after my summer jollies, and I really have missed mew all.
Though I must admit that I've not done much other than sleep, snooze, eat and read while on my vacation.
I've also been hunting for new books to share with mew over the coming review season, and I've found a lot of fabulous cozy mystery's that I think mew'll love to read.
I recently purrchased a new Kindle paperwhite e-reader, my old one was from 2011 and I decided to treat myself as apparently mew can read this new one in all light settings, whereas my old one mew couldn't and with my eyesight not being as good as it once was, this should be a blessing and fabulous addition to my library.
And finally, before we dive into this week's review, I do hope mew've all had a wonderful summer and did all the things mew wanted to do!
1. When I turned ______________, I _________________.
2. My favorite breakfast is ____________________.
3. I'm so glad I live in a world where _________.
4. _________ is not complete without _________.
The P.A.'s answers are...
1. When I turned 17, I couldn't wait to get my driving licence. I also learned how to drive an HGV, how to operate the old army crane we had at our yard for loading shipping containers and how to use the Hiab crane on the back of the flatbed lorry.
2. My favourite breakfast is a full English breakfast, no black pudding though. But I am quite partial to a croissant or a fruit platter too, and I do like proper toast with butter as well! LOL
3. I'm so glad I live in a world where we have convenience. Although I do see that things are taking a backwards turn right now, and if younger generations don't get a grip on things by the time they are my age, we'll be back in the Dark Ages. And if they think robots are the way forward, they've never seen The Terminator.
4. My world is not complete without my husband or cats.
Let's see what I've got to show mew this time!
This week's top book pick is...
Mewton-Clawson Library Copy
Here's a little snippet of the book blurb:
Have you ever wished your cat could talk to you? If so, allow my story to be your cautionary tale.
My aunt Lavender is in danger and it's up to me and my reluctant familiar to save her.
Unfortunately, the sassy cat isn't big on the whole concept of teamwork.
With no idea where Lavender is and our leads in short supply, we turn to an archivist who might have the answers to our questions. But when he turns up dead under suspicious circumstances, our last glimmer of hope goes dark.
Mew may remember that
my last review before my summer vacation was the first book in the Nine Lives Magic Mystery series, so I thought I would continue until the series is complete.
And I've just checked the author's website and discovered that the fifth and final installment will be released on the 16th of October, I'm not sure if that includes the audio version, but definitely the kindle version.
Anyhoo, let's jump into my review, so what did I think of the second book?
Selene the talking cat is back and as feisty as ever with her new owner/cat servant the ever-suffering Cora, and they are still looking for Aunt Lavendar who has mysteriously disappeared without a trace.
Their hunt is hampered by the fact that Lavender is a hoarder and her house is filled to overflowing with stuff, but nevertheless, they continue their search for clues which in turn leads to another body, and another mystery to solve.
Book #2 as in Book #1 is full of fun, witty characters, and a good plot with all the twists and turns that make a good cozy mystery great reading.
I am really enjoying this series, and think that if mew like your cozy mysteries as much as I do, mew'll really enjoy it too! I particularly the narrator, as she really brings Selene's character to life.

I really hope I enjoy the book as much as I did if I decides to read it.
It's time for me to say BFN or bye-fur-now as mew know the drill, so many books, so little time and I'll be back next week with another specially paw-picked book just for mew, and don't furget that all my previous reviews can be found on my Book Review page.
Until next time...
Keep calm and read more books
