Hello meautiful library guests
and
Welcome to the Mewton-Clawson Library at BBHQ
Thank mew for joining me in the stacks today, and I found this gorgeous throwback photo of me in April 2015. Don't I look happy? MOL
The reason for my apparent displeasure:
I was being denied books for the M.C. Library. If I remember correctly, my line of credit, aka Parsley's credit cards, had been forcibly removed from my purrson mid-purrchase at Amazon.
And the P.A. refused to fund my purrchase with her credit cards, well, I had maxed those out the previous week. And Basil had told me to go get a job, and it was a really bad day at black rock for me.
Seriously, nopawdy understands how hard it is to set up a library from scratch when mew have no money of your own.
Luckily over the years, I've had a few side hustles: I even did pole-dancing for a while at the Fuskerton Miners Welfare, the tips were ok, but I didn't make any big money. Then I joined Paw-sies and sold pictures of my adorable toe beans. In fact, I did alright at that until the rest of The B Team discovered my secret and then delivered an ultimatum of no more smexy toe bean pics for sale online.
Then I tried selling on FleaBay, which was ok for a while but then everypawdy began to notice their stuff was missing, and Basil went berserk after he did a monthly inventory in the bunker and realised I'd sold one of his tanks. That tank sale did buy a lot of books! MOL
Anyhoo, my point is, it's hard setting a new project up from scratch, but I did it, eventually, and I'm now supurr proud to announce that I've now officially run out of shelf space, which means I really need larger premises.
I may start a go-fund-me, and see if I can raise any capital to buy a small castle, with a moat and working drawbridge! MOL
1. I am looking forward to _________ this month.
2. I am in need of _________.
3. _________ is my go-to _________.
4. When the weather is _________, I _________.
The P.A.'s answers are...
1. I am looking forward to some warmer weather this month. The beginning of May was rather cool, and April was positively horrid. So I'm ready for some sunny days, and yes, I know we had a few over the last 10 days, but it's gone cold again.
2. I am in need of a new lawn or new turf.
3. Amazon is my go-to place for most things these days. I just don't enjoy the shopping experience like I did years ago; the thoughts of trawling around a shopping centre truly repel me! LOL
4. When the weather is warm but not too warm, I am usually gardening. There's always a job at BBHQ, and if one isn't abundantly apparent, I will go looking for one as I know there be one lurking, waiting to ambush me!
Let's see what I've got to show mew this time.
This week's top book pick is...
Mewton-Clawson Library Copy
by
Danielle Garrett
Here's a little snippet of the book blurb:
After a stunning betrayal knocks me for a loop, I don't know who I can trust. The trail to finding Aunt Lavender is warmer than ever—but also more dangerous.
Can a visit to the local psychic provide the final clue? Or will her inclinations land us in the crosshairs of the kidnapper?
There's only one way to find out, and all I can hope is the crystal ball is clear enough to light the way.
Today I'm sharing book #5 in the Nine Lives Magic Mystery series, and if mew missed the reviews for books one, two, three and four, click the links below.
I know it's been a while since I visited this series, in fact, it was October last year for Purrfect Potions. So I thought I'd better get another one in this series ticked off! MOL
Cora is still on the search for Aunt Lavender who's gone awol. Cora's epically snarky magical feline familiar Selene, whose snark reaches new heights, even for her in this book. Plus she can be more of a hindrance than help at times, although she is rather comical at times, did I say that I think Selene and I would be great furiends! MOL.
Book #5 follows straight on from #4, so my advice is to start from the beginning and work through the series in order. I think trying to read them as stand-alone novels would be rather confusing.
So back to the plot. It seems to be one step forward, three to the side and four back for Cora, as with every promising lead she gets, it ultimately only delivers disappointment.
The twists and turns kept me engaged from cover to cover, and the author's clever and witty writing style added to the enjoyment. The characters were well-developed, making the story even more enjoyable. I would highly recommend Furry Fortunes to anyone who enjoys cozy mysteries and felines. Garrett is a furbulous author who leaves the reader wanting more, and I'm looking forward to book #6 next.
If mew have Kindle Unlimited, all eight books in the series are available now, and mew can also listen on Audible. This is my purrsonal preference for this series as I enjoy how the narrator brings Selene to life.
A Highly Entertaining Read or Listen - TOP PAW!

I really hope mew enjoy the book as much as I did if mew decide to read it.
It's time for me to say BFN or bye-for-now as mew know the drill, so many books, so little time and I'll be back next week with another specially paw-picked book just for mew, and don't forget that all my previous reviews can be found on my Book Review page.
Until next time...
Keep calm and read more books
