Furbulous Greetings Supurr Furiends
Welcome to the BBHQ midweek news round-up!
We can't believe that it's September already, and the last few days at BBHQ have been scorchio!
Summer arrived, but only for a week or so, apparently we've got this meautiful weather until early next week, and then it will revert to a typical British affair of gloomy days, rain and all the other weatherish things we're used to! MOL
And we just have to show mew Rachel's rose, it is blooming marvellous for its second flowering this season. In fact, we can't remember when a second flourish looked this good.
Plus Grampaw went to the local auction. Did we ever mention that he loves auctions? Anyhoo, he goes most weeks to check out what is on offer, and the P.A. loves old architectural salvage, so he often looks to see if there's anything worth bidding on.
This week, he bought these items for BBHQ.
A lovely stone pagoda, this isn't its final resting spot. Cat Dad just deposited it here until we can find the purrfect place in the garden.
And then Grampaw got these pawesome stone lions on plinths, which Cat Dad put on either side of the catservatory doors.
We aren't sure if they will stay in this location forever, but that's where they'll be for now. We have no idea how old they are as the stone is purretty weather-beaten, and there's not much detail, but that aside we really think they're epic.
It's a fluffing good job Cat Dad is strong, as he lifted them on his own. Luckily the lion and plinth are two separate pieces otherwise the P.A. would have had to get her gloves and lend a hand. She was just a bystander while Cat Dad did all the work, the only heavy lifting she did on Monday was pick up her phone and take a photo! MOL
Anyhoo, let's look at this week's top headlines.
First up in the news this week
Smooch's In A Bush
Smooch loves getting underneath this bush, with all the dead branches on. There are far nicer places to recline around the BBHQ garden, but this is his go-to spot of the moment.
He'd better make the most of it because the poor bush is on the list for removal soon.
Next up in the news
Parsley's Chilling on The Lawn
Parsley spent his Monday morning chilling on the lawn.
Now, mew may remember way back in June, that Cat Dad scarified the lawn, as it was full of moss and dead thatch. Then he sprinkled a bit of new seed around, and luckily the rains came and stayed for all of July and early August, and the lawn is looking so much better.
It's green instead of a sickly yellow colour, and there's lots of clover growing which we like because it naturally adds nitrogen to the soil which the grass loves. So for the first time in about the last three years the lawn is looking pretty good.
There are a few weeds that need digging out, but the P.A. will wait for the moment to strike. As a job like this, mew can't plan, it has to be one of the spur-of-the-moment things, otherwise if mew try to plan it, it will never happen! MOL
Finally this week
Melvyn's Modelling The Top Bandana Pick
Yes, finally Melvyn is back doing his thing. And let me tell mew, it's been about six weeks since he's done any modelling and he started to purr with joy when the P.A. clipped on this week's top pick, so he's evidently missed his modelling gig.
He strutted his stuff on the BBHQ catwalk, although Fudge did get in the way a couple of times, though Melvyn just cat-walked around him like the pro-meowdel he is!
Check out Melvyn's videos on:

Rachel's rose, the pagoda, and those lions are so epic, mew guys! It's nice to see you, Smooch and Parsley. And melvyn, we love that bandana on mew. How about Bear Necessities next? XO
ReplyDeleteI love that pagoda! The rose is beautiful too. Ours have literally been a bit of a washout this year. As soon as they are looking good along comes the torrential rain and gales. We seem to have had a permanent rose petal lawn this year.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a nice cool spot you have there, Smooch.
The twin lions are brilliant!
