Supurr Monday greetings meautiful furiends

We do hope mew had a pawesome weekend, and if mew missed our epic Stonehege selfie yesterday, go check it out as we couldn't believe what an epic picture it was!

We're continuing with our fun crystal series again, and today's epic stone is one of our purrsonal favourites.

Crystal of The Week

&

What is smoky quartz good for?

Smoky quartz is such a beautiful gemstone.

It comes in all shades of rich browns, some are very deep in colour, going to almost black and others can be almost clear. They can be tinged with yellow or goldish tones too.

Here at BBHQ, we have tumble stones - top right picture, some of the obelisks - bottom right, and a few multi-terminated clusters, and some elestial specimens. One of which has a small bubble or pocket of water in, these particular crystals are called enhydros.

So let's tell mew a bit about the gem lore surrounding these lovely, rich-toned stones. Smoky quartz is purported to be an excellent stone for grounding or earthing, and there are other ways to do this, which we talked about it here. It also appurrently resonates with the base chakra and would be great to use in a meditation purractice as it assists in raising your vibration, and it's supposedly a great stress reliever.

If mew're looking for a protective stone that absorbs negativity and apparently geopathic stress/electrical smog too, this would be purrfect for that. They are great dotted around the house, obviously out of the way of small, inquisitive paws though! MOL

In some books we've read, they say that smoky quartz assists with bringing a sense of emotional calmness and helps alleviate feelings of depression, negating negative patterns and helping to boost pawsitivity.

Smoky quartz is also said to help with manifestation; if mew're planning things, this stone may help with focus, and keeping mew grounded as mew wurk towards your goals.

It's a really gorgeous stone, and the P.A. doesn't leave home without her smoky quartz bracelet; she loves it.

Mandalas on Monday ©BionicBasil® Colouring With Cats #115 Melvyn and The Smoky Quartz Flame

Melvyn was really fascinated by this smoky quartz flame; it's called a flame because of the carving style; if mew look closely, mew'll see it does resemble a flame. Anyhoo this is our smoky quartz flame at BBHQ, it is a little darker in places than the picture suggests, and as mew can see, a lot is happening inside the crystal structure. The P.A. says it's quite incredible to use a really bright torch and a magnifying glass to look inside the crystals - it's really amazing what mew might see.

If mew're looking for a crystal to add to your collection, this one would be epic as it's a gorgeous stone to have.

**LOVE TO COLOUR** Colouring with Cats #129 ~ Getting Your OM’s on with Mandalas on Mondays ~ Crystal of the Week PLUS **Your Crystal Questions Answered** What Is Larimar Good For?

Turquoise Mandalas on Mondays Banner 2020 ©BionicBasil® getting your Om's on and unleash Your Zen Harmonies

Supurr Monday greetings beautiful furiends

Welcome to another fun week at BBHQ and today, we're continuing our crystal journey. This time, we've got a lovely gemstone to share as Jen asked us; what is larimar good for?

Crystal of The Week

&

What is Larimar good for?

Larimar is just one of those stones that draws mew in. They have the most exquisite tones of aqua, bluey-green and turquoise with white, it is a semi-opaque stone in all shades of the aforementioned blue hues. It was only discovered and made available to the gem market as we know it in 1974, and it comes from the Dominican Republic, so it's a relatively new find.

Fudge is wearing one of the P.A.'s favourite pendants, and we do have a few tumble stones too, although they are quite small as larimar can be quite expensive, especially the brighter, aqua blue tones.

Let's tell mew a little bit about the gem lore surrounding this beautiful stone. Larimar is reported to be a very protective crystal, and its name is translation means tranquility. So if mew're looking for more harmony, relaxation and peace in your life this could be worth looking at.

Larimar is also purportedly very spiritual and assists in reaching deeper states of meditation. It is also said to raise consciousness, and helps with spiritual connections, for instance with the angelic realms and/or angelic beings.

If mew're looking for more going with the flow in life, for instance; if mew feel like mew're constantly swimming upstream, against the flow, this may be one to try, to help dissolve blockages, self sabotaging thoughts/feelings, and assist in moving through life with more fluidity. Try wearing a pendent or bracelet etc... and see if it helps.

A supurr stone for the throat chakra, although as with all chakra placements, it could be placed wherever mew feel it would be most beneficial.

The P.A. finds wearing crystals as jewellery is far easier than carrying around a pocketful of rocks! MOL  Although she does have a small zip purse in her handbag with an assortment of stones in.

If mew're drawn to this stone, buying one in purrson is the way to go, as then mew can actually see the stone mew are actually getting. It's difficult to buy some crystals online, and there's nothing worse than opening an internet bought crystal and it's nothing like the one mew thought mew'd bought. Unless the listing says, that mew are definitely getting the one in the picture.

Many thanks for emailing us Jen, and we hope that answered your question.

If mew have any crystal questions; email us, DM us or ask us in the comments below.

**LOVE TO COLOUR?** Colouring with Cats #130 ~ Getting Your OM’s on with Mandalas on Mondays **PLUS** Crystal of the Week & Your Crystal Questions Answered **What Is Shungite Good For?**

Turquoise Mandalas on Mondays Banner 2020 ©BionicBasil® getting your Om's on and unleash Your Zen Harmonies

Supurr Monday greetings beautiful furiends

Welcome to another furbulous week at BBHQ, today we're continuing our crystal journey and this time, we've got a lovely gemstone to share as Penny asked us; what is Shungite good for?

Crystal of The Week

&

What is Shungite good for?

Shungite is a solid black crystal; it only comes in the shade of black, and the polished stone has a satin finish. It is approximately 2 billion years old, so way older than the dinosaurs, how about that! It is 98% carbon and contains trace amounts of fullerenes, which we'll talk about below. The polished stones are usually supurr smooth and very tactile. Although it looks like coal unpolished, it is actually much, much stronger, and it's only found in one mine in a remote region of Russia, Karelia.

examples of shungite healing crystal

At BBHQ, we have a few tumble stones which live in front of the computer monitors, and others are dotted around the house near electrical items, and we'll tell mew why in a moment.

Fudge really likes the energies of these crystals, as mew can see below.

Cute ginger cat inspecting 2 shungite crystals

Here's a little bit about the gem lore regarding this intriguing crystal. Shungite contains fullerenes which supposedly are amazing antioxidants that can attract and neutralise harmful EMF's aka electromagnetic frequencies, like wifi or just the normal electromagnetic frequencies emitted by power lines, the wiring in your home, cell phones, or TV's etc... Shungite apparently absorbs these negative frequencies/energies which can attack our DNA, hence the reason we keep ours next to the computer and other electrical items.

Wearing a piece of Shungite as a pendant or bracelet is said to create a natural forcefield around your body to help protect mew from daily EMF radiation, which is everywhere, and it assists in blocking free radicals.

Shungite is also said to help with transformational energies, so if mew feel like mew need a bit of detox whether from devices or emotional issues, this might be a stone to explore further.  It is a very grounding stone, so if mew're feeling like mew need more structure in your life, this could help according to the books we've read.

The ideal placement for Shungite is on the Root Chakra, but as we said, it can be worn anywhere on the body for pawsitive effect.

There's so much information about this crystal, far too much for our small post today, check it out on google and mew'll find a wealth of stuff including Shungite water, although we've never tried that at BBHQ.

It is not an expensive crystal and comes in all shapes and sizes. Next time the P.A. is at the gem show she's going to get a pyramid-shaped one to add to the collection. We even have little charms on a couple of our collars.

If mew're looking for more EMF protection, we share another interesting item with mew next time.

Many thanks for DMing us Penny, and we hope that answered your question.
