Happy March the 1st and roll on Spring!
And as mew can see to celebrate such a momentous occasion we've changed our loved-up header to a rather spiffing Spring one, as we are looking forward to some warms imminently, although the fear-monger climate-change weather peeps keep threatening us with another Beast from The East snow storm phenomenon like we experienced in 2018, and mew can see exactly what the first Beast did to our pond in 2018 by clicking here. So we'll wait and see if it arrives sometime this month. Though in all honesty, we'd rather it didn't and it can fluff right off to the North Pole, and stay there.
We've also created new springy graphics for our posts, as we really wanted to move away from the frosty winter vibe.
Also, all of us have just been to the vets for our yearly boosters and wellness check. Parsley is weighing in at a rather hefty 6.7 kg, Melvyn is 5.4 kg, Smooch is 4.7 kg and Fudge is 5.8 kg. Amber and Pandora refuse to share their stats, citing that highly sensitive information is private and confidential.
Melvyn has a tiny bit of gingivitis on one tooth, which we will monitor, and Smooch has had to have an extra blood test, so we'll update mew on that when we have more news.
Apart from that, all went well. But the really funny thing is, our boosters were due in December, but apparently there is a shortage of vaccines, and we had to go on a waiting list until they became available. Tres bizarre for sure!

Parsley Went Missing in Action
On Sunday evening about 11pm when we were locking up and about to head off to bed, we noticed that Parlsey hadn't appeared for his bedtime treats, which is very unusual.
He normally spends his evenings in the sitting room on the sofa near the fire or upstairs on his silk sofa in the dressing room. So the P.A. went upstairs to see if he was lurking anywhere and couldn't find him, then a search of the entire house began, we even went outside and checked the shed, summer house and garden, but he wasn't anywhere to be found.
Then dad checked the airing cupboard for a second time and out he popped. He must have quietly slipped in when dad got a towel for his shower at about 9pm and gone for a snooze in the heat.
Anyhoo, while he'd been in the airing cupboard on a stealth mission, he must have accidentally knocked the boiler valve and on Tuesday we had no hot water or heating. Dad told the P.A. in the morning that there was no hot water, so luckily we have an electric shower, although mew could probably spit faster than the water flow.
And it wasn't until 6pm when the P.A. noticed that the house felt cold that she discovered that we had an imminent disaster. Luckily dad arrived home from work and sorted it all out and got the boiler working, but the P.A. had to drain one of the radiators a little as it refused to comply and heat up, but after it was all ok.
So the moral of the story is this; be extra vigilant when opening the airing cupboard in a low-light situation especially when black cats are lurking!

Smooch is Under a Bush
We had a bit of sunshine on the weekend, although the wind was quite cool, so Smooch got himself huddled under the hedging on the patio and enjoyed this sheltered sunspot for about an hour.
We've never seen him in this spot before, in fact, we've never seen anypawdy try this one before. Normally he gets in his basket by the patio doors and hunkers down in the wool blanket, and he loves it in there. So we'll keep an eye out to see if this spot gets used again! MOL
