Wordy on Wednesday with Biblio-Kitty Amber #47 featuring Cats Can't Shoot: A Pru Marlowe Pet Noir

Welcome To

With me, Amber ~ The Self-Appointed Biblio-Kitty

Supurr salutations pawesome furriends

*waves paw*

Welcome to another wunderpurr Wednesday on the blog.  I'm so excited as my supurr exclusive Crotchety Cougars Red Bonnet arrived on Monday from 15andMeowing - now this is such a great honour as mew can't join The Crotchety Cougars Club until mew are 15, which as of next Tuesday I will be, but appurrently until then I'm not allowed to see, touch, wear or even sniff my new bonnet on the P.A. orders.

She said and I quote, "Amber it's not your birthday for another six days, you have to wait!"

"PHOOOOEY!"  I harrumphed and stomped off to my library in sheer disgust.

But let me tell me I will get to sneak a peek in that envelope when the Tyrannical Overlord aka the P.A. isn't looking! MOL

Oh and moving on now, mew remember that we're on the Halloween Trail of Spooky Weirdness throughout this month and today I'm sharing another picture the P.A. took on October's full moon while she was stood in the courtyard.  It's not as creepy as last weeks but still....

OMC what's that blue thing above the clouds?  And it's purretty big... EEEEEEK...  It wasn't in the previous pictures either, as the P.A. always takes 2 or 3 of the same thing - don't ask why, I don't know, she's just a bit nuts! MOL

And no it wasn't a satellite, or a plane, or a helicopter, or a radio-active wurm, or even a big glowy blue-burd!

Idea's anyone?

While mew ponder on the mystery of the blue orb, I think it's time fur this weeks book, so let's hop to it...

This week I'm sharing

Cats Can't Shoot

A Pru Marlowe Pet Noir

by

Clea Simon

Here's a little snippet of the book blurb:

When Pru Marlowe gets the call that there's been a cat shooting, she's furious. Animal brutality is the one thing that this tough animal psychic won't stand for, and in her role as a behaviorist she's determined to care for the traumatized pet. But when Pru finds out that the cat "did" the shooting - accidentally setting off a rare dueling pistol - she realizes something else is going on.

Cats Can't Shoot is the furst in the Pru Marlowe Pet Mystery Series and it didn't disappoint at all.  Pru can read the minds of animals, which is a gift I wish the P.A. had then she'd know exactly what I want and when I want it without me having to find her and tell her in purrson! MOL

But seriously this book has it all, suspense, drama, really good characters, a nice plot to lead mew along and keep turning those pages or in my case binge-listening.

Pru's cat Wallace is a great character and I'm hoping as the series progresses becomes more front and centre, and it's read by one of my favourite narrators too, Tavia Gilbert.

If mew haven't read or listened to this, I really think mew should, mew won't be disappointed.

Sadly it's time fur me to say BFN or bye-fur-now as mew know the drill, so many books, so little time and don't furget that I'll be back next week with another specially paw-picked book just fur mew.

Next week I'll be doing Wordy on Wednesday on Tuesday as it's my BIRTHDAY - WOOOO HOOOOO!

Happy reading or listening

Wordless on Wednesday with Humphrey

glitter maker

Greetings and many salutations wunderpurr furriends

We hope mew all had a supurr weekend

So sorry we didn't get to post yesterday fur the Pirate Q&A, we got a little distracted in the garden instead, but not to worry, we'll catch up with part 5 fur next week.

As mew can see we've been busy offur the weekend, Humphrey was the Garden Overlord, whoops sorry Overseer, and as he's the eldest and grumpiest cat in Sweepy Ville at the moment he took prime position in the sunshine on the millwheel.

He was most disgruntled to find out that the catmint is only just sprutting and is in no way ready fur a mass sniffing, chomping, rolling, biting, ripping and pulling session.  Mew can imagine his horror when he realised this - all I can say to that is MOL MOL MOL oh and MOL MOL MOL!!!!

We and what I mean by we is, the P.A. got the two raised beds planted with Gladi's, Dahlia's, Anemones, Gypsophila, Alium, and others that I just can't remember right now... well let's just say she planted blue ones, purple ones, yellow ones, white ones, red ones, pink ones, orange ones, etc, in fact I think it's easier to say the raised beds will be like a flowery rainbow if all goes to plan.

We all took turns to help of course.   Smooch rolled on the soil as she was trying to dig the holes, filling them in as fast as they were dug, Parsley tried to reposition the bulbs, so he says to a more upright and beneficial position - in reality it was more like fish them out and flick them somewhere else.  I sat and meowed fur food the entire time.  Amber played the chase the bulb packet around the courtyard and Snowie, well let's just say Snowie was assisting with the ankle weaving/tripping up thing and doing a most marvellous job of it.

Then it began to rain halfway through, so we all dutifully abandoned the P.A. and went indoors and watched from the french doors in the kitchen as it bucketed down and she got soaked. [MOL MOL don't tell her we laughed! MOL]

All in all we did a fab job and are most proud of our uber, mega gardening skillz, the P.A. would be completely and utterly lost without our help and neffer get anything down unless we were supurrvising.

This got me to wundering if all hoomans were the same, and needed constant surrpivision fur effury task they do....??? so we'll finish with a quick question...

Do mew supurrvise your hoomans with their daily activites?

See mew on the morrow when we'll be here with much thoughtless abandon

Purrs
