Mancat Monday at BBHQ ~ Starring Parsley aka Mr Sauce **AND DID MEW KNOW THIS? HE'S GOT A REALLY BIG SECRET TOO!!!**

It's Mancat Monday, and mew know what that means... it's a mancat zone! MOL  

Today, Parsley is here sharing all his rugged manlycatness, as we don't think he's featured on MCM for years either, like Melvyn last week! 

Isn't he a magnificent, handsome panfur! 

BBHQ'S HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE HOLDER

He's got the most lethal patherene claws.

His hobbies include a bit of rock climbing!

Birdwatching and nature is another favourite pastime.

And he's also dabbled in the highly lucrative trade of catnip selling, although this particular batch nearly tipped him over the edge, or off the table! MOL

Did Mew Know This About Parsley?

Parsley is a gentle giant; he has such a kind nature, and he's the resident heavyweight at BBHQ, weighing in at approximately 6.7kg - 14.77lbs. And this year, when he went for his annual check-up and boosters, the vet had the nerve to say he was a bit heavy. Cat Dad soon put that straight and said to the vet. "Dude, he's on a bulking phase!" MOL

In 2014 when he first arrived at BBHQ, he was called Parsons as he had a faint ring of white fur around his neck like a priest's collar, so that's what they named him at the rescue.

The P.A. wanted to call him Magic, Merlin or some other really unimaginative magical black cat name but after trying out all the usual names and he responded to none, she realised that he wasn't going to be easy to name. Then one day she was looking through a gardening book and saw the word parsley and had an 'ah-ha!' moment, and that's how Parsley got his new name, and slowly that evolved into Parsley Sauce and then we found that he really loves the name Sauce, so most of the time we call him Sauce, or Mr Sauce.

And on different days of the week, he likes to be different sauces, such as mint, BBHQ, chocolate, steak, peri peri, seafood, black sauce aka HP, caramel, etc... it changes with his mood! But don't ever call him Mayonaise; yep, that one is a huge NO-NO! MOL #truestory 

And we bet mew're wondering what the really big secret is?

Well, he's a biscuit-making machine. Seriously, he's a one-cat biscuit factory! MOL

Just look at him go, and he makes the best biscuits ever. In fact, he's a bit of a biscuit aficionado or a biscuit connoisseur.

Mancat Monday at BBHQ ~ Wing Commander Basil's Favourite Part Of The Garden in 2009 **AND DID MEW KNOW THIS?**

It's Mancat Monday, and mew know what that means... it's a mancat zone! MOL  

Today I am here sharing all my uber manlycatness, as I don't think I've featured on MCM for years! 

So we're travelling back to the most epically epic year of 2009 when I was in my uber chonk'a'licious era! MOL

Just look at me in my prime, even I can't catch my breath!!!! MOL

MY FAVOURITE PART OF THE GARDEN IN 2009

At BBHQ in the Spring of 2009, the P.A. and Dad did a little landscaping; the installed a lovely wildlife pond for the one resident frog, which mew can just see on the left of the photo, not the frog, the pond.

And on the other side of the path they created a mini stone circle just for cats. It's true, take a look below.

Mew see stone circles are in our DNA! MOL MOL 

I loved this rock garden more that mew could imagine.

And I spent countless hours that summer relishing in all that stone circle energy! 

Did Mew Know This About Me?

When I first arrived at BBHQ, I'd had four homes in two years, for some unknown reason I kept being returned to the small cat rescue shelter. But I understand why now; it was because I was meant to get to BBHQ, the P.A. and Dad, those other homes were not meant for me, BBHQ was, and the universe in those first two years of my life was orchestrating events to get me to there, and it did.

Mew know I spent many hours on Pawtrol in my life, and not only within the BBHQ compound, but also the field over the fence.  

And some summer evenings, when the moon was full and the air was still, I'd stay out really late and the P.A. would come looking for me down the field and carry me back home.

The P.A. would whistle when she required my presence, but on those hot summer nights, with all the little creatures rustling in the undergrowth, I must admit that I did purposefully ignore her. Hence the scenario above, when I'd be carried home! MOL

And finally,

I really loved cuddles, seriously I know it's hard to believe when mew read all our epic adventures, but I really did love getting snuggled and cuddled with the P.A. and Dad.

Mancat Monday at BBHQ with Angel Humphrey & We Bet Mew Didn't Know This Surprising Fact About Him

Welcome To Mancat Monday 

And mew know what that means? It's pin-up time!

Today Angel Humphrey is here sharing all his uber manlycatness. 

Doesn't he cut a truly epic specimen of a ruggedly handsome mancat?

We can almost guarantee all the lady cats in the blogosphere will be swooning over this gorgeous house-panther pin-up! 

We Bet Mew Didn't Know This Surprising Fact About Humphrey? 

Humphrey was always quite the character. He was a big cat too, though not quite as big as Parsley who's our reigning heavyweight at 6.3kg or 13.88lbs. That aside as black cats go Humphrey was magnificent and very handsome.

He arrived in Mewton-Clawson on the 4th of February 2000; we can only remember the exact date as it was the day before the P.A.'s Birthday and was actually her fraternal grampa's birthday. She went to the rescue after her furst cat, C.J. Catkin departed at the furry young age of 3 due to complications aftur being poisoned by some total flufftard who hated cats near the P.A.'s old house.

So she arrived at the lady's house who rescued all the stray/feral cats locally and did all the TNR [she still does today] to find a lonely black cat sitting in a pen next to a tiny tabby.

Brenda said, "The black cat is called Max, and the full tabby is called Tammy. No one will want either of them because people generally don't want a black cat and the tabby is completely terrified of everyone."

Fifteen minutes later Max and Tammy were adopted and in the SUV on the way home to BBHQ.

Aftur that complete digression, we bet mew didn't know that Humphrey was originally called Max!  

He didn't like the name. In fact, he didn't respond to it all as he said it didn't suit him in the slightest and that Humphrey was the purrfect fit! MOL

Welcome to another selfie selection and today our theme is:

The Purrfect Panfur Pose by Parsley

This is one of our all-time fav pics of Parsley; he's notoriously difficult to take a photo of, so today we're using this epic throwback from October 2016. And if mew're wundering, the little white box on his collar was a tracking device we were testing for a company and did a review for.

The effect was created with Befunky, and it's a new one we haven't seen or tried before - Poly Art DLX 2 + adjustments to contrast and shadows.  

We also turned this fab arty-farty picture into a puzzle, so do stop by the puzzle page and take the Puzzle Challenge, see if mew can beat our time of 9 mins 50 secs. 

Anyhoo it's time for us to go and snoopervise the P.A. in the garden, as we're planting more catnip today, and a few other fun things. So we do hope mew have a totally terrific day and we'll be back tomorrow with another free mandala for mew to colour and another crystal of the week.

Black Cat Appreciation Day 2020 with Parsley Sauce ~ House Panther Extraordinaire

Welcome to

Black Cat Appreciation Day at BBHQ

Parsley aka Special Sauce 

We're going to let mew bask in the magnificence of Sauce! MOL

We hope mew enjoyed all that Sauce! MOL MOL

And we at BBHQ unequivocally and unanimously agree that...

And even though we, and all our cat blogging buddies around the wurld agree on the above statement, black cats are still notoriously the hardest to find homes for in shelters!  

This is absolutely ridiculous in our humble opinion, and apparently purrspective adopters don't want them because 'it's really hard to take a good picture of a black cat,' so it's all Social Media's fault that they aren't adopted as readily as other kitties. 

Let us tell mew this, it's hard to take a good picture of any cat without patience and purrseverence, the majority of us don't just sit there waiting for our hooman staff to take our picture all day - well some might - but most don't and therefore we find the above argument a moot point and really stupid. And furthermore, what's even more stupid is we can't imagine for the life of us why a purrspective adopter wouldn't want a miniature panther!

 Seriously, peeps go crazy over teacup, toy, miniature dogs etc... munchkin cats etc... so why wouldn't mew want a mini black panther because in essence that's exactly what they are. 

So if mew're looking to adopt a kitty, go adopt your own little panther, mew'll be so happy mew did, we can guarantee it.
