Hello gorgeous library guests

and

Welcome to the Mewton-Clawson Library at BBHQ and thank mew for joining me in the stacks today.

Now I don't know about mew, but as I've got older, I get regular eye snot, see pic below. Especially in my left eye, and the P.A. stalks me around the house with those special eye wipes; she lurks behind the sofa, hides behind the chair, doors, literally crawls along the floor at the back of the kitchen island to creep up and ambush me to try and wipe my eyes, because if mew haven't guessed it's not something I enjoy at all.

ginger and white sitting on gravel looking grumpy

This crustacean here, was removed when I was sleeping if mew purrlease. There I was, fast asleep, minding my own business and all of a sudden I was roused from my slumber by a damp cloth being smooshed in my face. NOT PLEASANT!

If any of mew have any eye snot removal tips for the P.A. she'd love to hear them, as she told me she's fed up of crawling around the floor trying to outwit me.

Oh, and if mew hadn't noticed, this weeks photo is of yours truly enjoying some fresh air during the summer, I think my expression says it all.

Today the P.A. is also joining in Friday Fill-ins Blog Hop with the pawesome 15 & Meowing and Four-Legged Furballs.
1. I wish I could train _________________ to ____________________.
2. I am planning to get ________________ for ___________________.
3. I know it’s time to _________ when _________.
4. I felt brave when I _________.

The P.A.'s answers are...

1. I wish I could train _________________ to ____________________. Wow, so many answers to this one, if I could go back in time to when I left school I would have trained as a psychologist, then as a psychiatrist. Too late for that. I also wanted to be an Egyptologist, but there were no courses back in the day and I ended up at business college. I suppose right now if I were to train as anything it would be in alternative health.

2. I am planning to get a new vegetable garden for next year, Gods permitting! LOL

3. I know it’s time to order more coal and wood when the weather starts to get cooler.

4. I was brave when I was at a friends party in my mid 20's, and there were 4 big, drunk guys there who decided that everyone was getting thrown in the swimming pool, which I thought was pretty dangerous. They were absolute idiots and total bullys, anyway I didn't go to the party to get thrown in the pool, and when they decided I was their next victim, and they grabbed me most indelicately after I politely told them no, and to go away. And they held me by my upper arms/shoulders and a leg each and thought it was really funny, I didn't think it was funny at all. At that point, I went berserk. And I mean berserk, like a wildcat, the party pretty much stopped to watch me fight these four thugs off. I kicked the fluff out of the two holding my legs, to the point where they soon let go, and the ones holding my shoulders followed suit thereafter. Maybe I'm a party-pooper but I will not be man-handled against my will, in jest or not. Apparently, the two holding my legs, had bruises in the shape of my shoe soles all over their ribs the next day. Oh dear. You know what the local gossip was for the next couple of weeks.

This week's top book pick is...

Amber's Book Reviews - What Are We reading This Week ©BionicBasil® Yoga Kittens
Mewton-Clawson Library Copy

Yoga Kittens

by

 Daniel Borris

Here's a little snippet of the book blurb:

Stretching into impossible poses, these photogenic kittens could be the most relaxed cats of all time! This hilarious collection of photographs captures a broad cross-section of loveable felines practising yoga that's sure to claw its way into the affections of animal lovers everywhere.

Today I thought I'd share some epic cuteness with mew all, courtesy of professional photographer Daniel Borris in his book, Yoga Kittens.

Although there are only 15 kittens throughout, they are exceptionally cute kittens, each with a zen phrase, actually, we should have shared this one on our Monday post! MOL

And not a very large book in length or size, I would say this would make an ideal stocking filler, or mini gift for a cat lover, mew know an iddy biddy pressie of cuteness.

I did enjoy purrusing the pictures and imagine that mew would too, so if mew are looking for something for someone who love kittens, cats and yoga, this could be the purrfect gift. The reason for the 4 stars is I thought £4.99 was a little expensive for 32 pages, just my opinion.

I really hope mew enjoy the book as much as I did if mew decide to read it.

It's time fur me to say BFN or bye-fur-now as mew know the drill, so many books, so little time and I'll be back next week with another specially paw-picked book just for mew, and don't furget that all my previous reviews can be found on my Book Review page.

Until next time...

Keep calm and read more books

  1. I hope you come up with an easier way to get rid of those eye boogers sweet Amber. That was a good book review too. Hey, P.A., we enjoyed your answers and as to #4, aren't you glad they didn't have cellphones and cellphone cameras then?!?!

    1. Oh yes, it would have been a viral video for sure.

But NO means NO, and they shouldn't have done it. There were some much older people there too who also were man-handled into the pool, it was a complete debacle and I was the only one who stood up the the idiots.

  5. My Rosie is only 3 and gets the crust in her eye.She gets mad when I pick it out, but if her dad does it then she doesn't mind. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I have a BA in Psychology and wish I had become a psychologist. Maybe in our next lives. Kuddos to you for defending yourself against those idiots. And Amber, nice review, that looks like a cute book. Have a great weekend. XO

  6. Bullies stink! You get 2 or more together and their stupidity multiplies ten fold. Good for you getting some shots in. I don't have any suggestions on helping Amber's eye crustys. The book looks interesting. Have a good weekend!

  7. That's called assault, and you are lucky that you kicked the fluff outta those idiots!
When Tutankhamun's grave treasures visited the US, I read every book about Ancient Egypt, and played docent to friends at an Egyptian exhibit once.
May I dare recommend a wonderful book series, written by author Elizabeth Peters, about Amelia Peabody and her forays into Egyptology. A rare, dry humour, with tons of history, adventure, mysteries, and life in Victorian England and Egypt...I heartily recommend it!

  8. Amber if you just give in to it it goes easy. I had them my whole life and my last years Dad would wait till I was in bed, in my spot next to him and just reach over and pop it off with his nail. Done. Every now and again I would need a wipe but mostly just a little grab with his nail. Once I quit arguing about it, was no big deal.
Yeah, the book sounds cute but 32 pages? If it was 80-100 ok but too steep for us.
PS We just got "Zombies don't eat Catnip" and it looks like a lot of fun. Thanks Amber

  9. I find that a quick wipe against the leg shifts most things, Amber!
I do like kittens, I mean who doesn't, but last time Mrs H tried yoga she was knotted up for a week. I shall buy a copy for myself andNOT show Mrs H just in case she is tempted to try any of the poses!
