Hello meautiful library guests
and
Welcome to the Mewton-Clawson Library at BBHQ
Thank mew for joining me in the stacks today, and yesterday I was having a little hissy fit as Melvyn wasn't doing what he was told. Mew know these young interns think they've got rights; there's none of that malarky at the Mewton-Clawson Library!
There we were in the BBHQ kitchen, and I asked him to go over to the library and bring me the next four books off my to-read pile, and mew know what the little upstart said.
"Go get them yourself!"
Who the fluff did he think he was talking to?
So I sat Melvyn down to have a friendly chat, and after I explained that he'd have no access to any military, weapons, or ammo books and that I was revoking his access to the bunker indefinitely as well, he soon changed his tune.
Honestly, mew can't believe these young cats and the ideas they get, seriously, mew have to have respect for your elders and bosses. Do as mew're told or see what happens.
And when I say, those four books arrived on my sofa in the catservatory in less than two minutes, he definitely got my point.
Anyhoo, what books have mew been reading this week?
Apart from this week's top pick, I've also reread (R.R.) these plus one new book (N.B.):
Defiance by Lili St Crow Bk 4 Strange Angels (R.R.)
Reckoning by Lili St Crow Bk 5 Strange Angels (R.R.)
The Alpha Enigma by W. Michael Gear (N.B.)
Moving Pictures by Terry Pratchett ~ Discworld Series (R.R.)
So not a bad reading week at all.
Today the P.A. is also joining in Friday Fill-ins Blog Hop with the pawesome 15 & Meowing and Four-Legged Furballs.
1. Back in the day, _________________________.
2. ________________________ is an unconventional pet I would like to have.
The P.A.'s answers are...
1. Back in the day, life was so much simpler. This digital age, while good in some respects, has totally changed life as we know it, and not for the better in many areas of modern-day living. Now that almost everything is digital, one EMP, and we're all totally fluffed. But maybe that's the plan! I bet there's someone in an office somewhere just waiting to push the button to fluff all of the human race.
2. ________________________ is an unconventional pet I would like to have. There aren't any unconventional pets that I would have; cats are the only companions needed at BBHQ, plus the odd hedgehog or three.
Copycat Killing
A Magical Cats Mystery Book 3
by
Sofie Kelly
Here's a little snippet of the book blurb:
It's been raining cats and dogs in Mayville Heights. The small town has been deluged and now the local artist's co-op is on the verge of flooding. Kathleen has been helping her friends save their creations. The artwork survives but when a mask maker is found drowned in the basement, Kathleen questions whether the death was accidental. With the help of handsome detective Marcus Gordon and her cats' extraordinary powers of detection - it is up to Kathleen to unmask a killer.
Mew may remember a few weeks ago that I rediscovered this pawesome series, and I'm now on a mission to review the entire Magical Cats Mystery series before the end of the year.
Here are my previous reviews:
Book Three is a captivating and delightful addition to the Magical Cats Mystery series. Set in the charming town of Mayville Heights, the story unfolds against the backdrop of a torrential rainstorm that threatens to flood the local artist's co-op. The author builds a colourful picture of the small town, making mew feel like mew could be there.
The protagonist, Kathleen, finds herself embroiled in a puzzling mystery when a mask maker is discovered drowned in the flooded basement. As she questions the nature of the death, the stakes are high as the plot thickens. With the help of the dashing detective Marcus Gordon and her astute feline companions with extraordinary powers of detection, Kathleen is thrust into a thrilling quest to unmask a killer.
Sofie Kelly's storytelling is furbulous, weaving together an intricate tapestry of suspense, humour, and heartwarming moments. The novel's richly developed characters and the unique dynamics between Kathleen, Marcus, and her feline friends add depth and intricacy to the story, keeping mew eagerly turning the pages, wanting more.
And I must just add this. Hercules and Owen are two cats that The B Team would hire in a breath; what a pair of epic dudes with epic skills! MOL
The well-crafted plot is filled with clever twists and turns, ensuring that mew are kept on the edge of your seat until the very end. Copycat Killing is a must-read for fans of cozy cat mysteries, offering a purrfect blend of intrigue, charm, and feline-inspired sleuthing that is sure to leave mew despurrate to get your paws on the next book.

I really hope mew enjoy the book as much as I did if mew decide to read it.
It's time for me to say BFN or bye-for-now as mew know the drill, so many books, so little time and I'll be back next week with another specially paw-picked book just for mew, and don't forget that all my previous reviews can be found on my Book Review page.
Until next time...

ReplyDeleteExcellent job of managing your underlings, Amber!
ReplyDeleteI've tried to be a fangirl, but when in the presence of the object of my obsession, I turned into a block of wood.
So, I don't do that anymore, preferring to follow authors on FB or newsletters, and let their comments come to me.
That's alot of reading, Amber, and we're glad you got through to Melvyn! Good answers to the fill ins too. Great review and the book sounds intriguing!
ReplyDeleteYou sure put your paw down with Melvyn sweet Amber. Those were good fill-in answers and I sure agree with the two non answers. Great review too sweet Amber, that book sounds like a goodie. Thanks for joining Angel Brian's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

ReplyDeletePrecious
He did NOT say that to you!!! You sure put him in his place! We love Sofie Kelly's books :)
ReplyDeleteWhippersnappers must be reminded what they need to do to grow up to be in charge someday, and that is learn to take orders so they'll know how to properly give them.
ReplyDeleteIf they're waiting to fluff the human race, they've waited too long, we've done it to ourselves with war and toxins and everything else, I think.
I'm with you, no exotic pets and no autographs needed.
The book sounds great and I really do appreciate your linking up with Feline Friday!
