Here's a little bit of info from BBHQ's Historical Travel Guide, Smooch:

Greetings fellow travellers and history lovers!

This week we had the purrleasure of visiting Machrie Moor, a site of great historical and cultural significance. The area is located in the heart of the Scottish island of Arran, and is home to a number of impressive megalithic structures, including this one, the Machrie Moor Stones, once thought to be part of a much larger circle containing 7 or 8 stones in a circle of approx 13.7m. The Machrie Moor Stones is a set of three towering monoliths that rise over 15 feet tall, and were undoubtedly utterly magnificent, not to mention supurr imposing. These paw-inspiring structures, which were built over 4,000 years ago by the ancient peoples of Scotland, are shrouded in mystery and intrigue. While their exact purpose is not entirely clear, researchers believe that they may have served a ceremonial or religious function, as is the general consensus on most of these ancient monuments. As we gazed upon the Machrie Moor Stones, we couldn't help but feel a sense of reverence and wonder. The stones seemed to exude an otherworldly energy as if they were imbued with some ancient power or wisdom. But the Machrie Moor Stones are just one part of a larger network of megalithic structures that dot the landscape of Machrie Moor, which include several other smaller stone circles and standing stones located nearby. Together, these structures form a complex and interconnected web of ancient architecture that is truly breathtaking to behold. In addition to these impressive megaliths, Machrie Moor is also home to a number of other archaeological sites, including burial cairns, hut circles, and field systems. These sites offer a fascinating glimpse into the daily lives of the people who lived in the area during the Bronze Age. Overall, our visit to Machrie Moor was a truly unforgettable experience. The combination of ancient history and natural beauty make this site a must-see for anypawdy interested in exploring the rich cultural heritage of Scotland.

We're off to get snuggled in front of the fire as it's been freezing all week and like icicles outside, so no garden safari will be happening today.

Pandora, Parsley and Smooch will bip in and out a few times, but they won't stay in the garden long, just long enough to do their business and then come hurtling back inside! MOL

Smooch will also be on lunch patrol, as it's his favourite day of the week and Amber will be reclined on the sofa for most of the day, with Fudge keeping her company.

Do join us again tomorrow, when we're back with another episode of Cats Have Problems Too, and check out this week's Despurrate Dilemma and again on Tuesday with Chapter Six in our brand new thrilling adventure, Claws of Terror.

We do hope mew have an epic day, and remember to always...
