Welcome to the BBHQ midweek news round-up!

Happy Wednesday, gorgeous furiends, and thanks so much for stopping by.

What a week, it vanished in the blink of an eye. Where is the time going right now? Is it speeding up? Or is time different at BBHQ? Probably, but that aside, we ran out of it again, we managed to reply to our blog comments, got the code pasted for the Sunday Selfies, and then boom, and it was Tuesday!

Hopefully, some hops will still be open, so that's our next port of call after finishing this.

So let's start with the weather report: it's been mostly dry, with cool wind, though biting at times, and the most offensive fur-ruffling abilities. We do not recommend spending time outside in that. We have had some nice but brief sunny spells, with Sunday being the nicest day of the week so far. 

But as this week progresses, it could, according to our weather app, reach a heady 19 degrees Celsius on Friday. Now that's something to look forward to! MOL

Oh, and here's this week's flower offering.

 The Red Tulips Are Blooming Epic

A cluster of vibrant red tulips, some streaked with orange and white, blooms brightly in a garden bed. The reds are so vibrant, and the ones on the right look like they have been painted, honestly, nature is amazing.

We are waiting for some black frilled tulips to appear; they are only just getting going, but if the weather is warmer, we may get blooms sooner. Here's hoping!

Parsley's In The Spidery Basket


A black cat relaxes inside a wicker basket lined with cream fabric and filled with red blankets and a red heart‑shaped cushion. Pandora's On The Deck


Pandora was enjoying a dappled spot on the deck

She's loving it there at the moment, but I suspect that this repeated display is a subtle signal that garden furniture, preferably supurr comfy with plush throws, is needed in this space, very soon!

Smooch is Snoozing in The Grass

Smooch was catnapping in one of his favourite spring spots.

Every year, he relishes his time napping in the pots with the ornamental grass, though he was a little hissed off, as the P.A. had just cut this one back, so it wasn't as springy as normal.

And finally, this week

Melvyn's Modelling The Top Bandana Pick

It was a tie between #3 and #5, so Melvyn made the executive decision and picked #3!

 As spring is now officially here, we chose some more colourful and bright bandanas for this month.

    The tulips are looking lovely. We have had mostly sunny weather with the same forecast for the next week. It would be great if only the NE wind would take a hike! Wind gusts today of 58mph make it feel so cold. The temperature is supposed to reach 18 on Thursday, but still with that confounded wind! What has happened to our warmer Southwesterlies??
    Parsley, have you not eaten that spider yet? You needed Flynn there, he would have despatched it in 2 seconds flat! I sent him into the bath when the need arose, my hero!
    That looks a nice sheltered spot, Pandora. Smooch looks very comfortable on the grass, trimmed or not.
    Melvyn, you model that bandana perfectly. I wonder which one it will be next week :)

      Parsley says he’s thinking about spider‑removal, but he knows Flynn would have sorted it in two seconds flat. What a total hero 🐾💛

    Melvyn he really put on quite a pose for us there. Looking so handsome all of you. In those tulips! Wow. We had a couple bitter cold mornings this week, the bird baths were frozen again. And now for a couple of days it's going to be extra warm, crazy weather.

    Wow, your tulips are amazingly gorgeous! And you even have then in pots on the deck. I have some itis in pots, but I should add in some spring bulbs for next springtime.
    All your kitties are enjoying the outdoors, too!
    We've had a lot of rain and storms, but Wednesday was lovely, about 75F, and a nice breeze to keep me cool as I was mowing the grass...once acre, takes about 4 hours...walking behind the mower...thankfully it is self propelled, I only have to steer it.

      All the kitties have been making the most of the outdoors between the rain showers, it sounds like mew’ve had quite the stormy spell too 🌧️⚡ But 75F and a lovely breeze for mowing sounds purrfect!

      And WOW… one acre, four hours, walking behind the mower?! That’s some serious dedication 💪🌱😹 We hope mew got a nice rest afterwards!
