Welcome to the BBHQ Midweek News Round-Up!

How's your week going? 

We did get a couple of sunspots, very briefly. Parsley is enjoying one below, but then it rained. And rained. And rained some more. Then it got colder. Then it warmed up a couple of degrees. Then got even colder. All in all, a really horrid weather week.

And all the low-lying fields are like lakes, totally flooded. Years ago, when this happened, and then it froze really hard, the P.A. would go ice skating; she said it was great fun. We said, nah, mew can keep that! MOL 

Good news, though, the Spring bulbs are growing rather quickly. Maybe by the month's end, we'll have a bit of colour. The P.A. still has some roses to prune, but it's too cold and damp; she needs a portable heat lamp to keep her warm while she's in the garden! MOL

And if mew've missed Spring as much as we have, here's a little throwback to April 14th last year... because we all need colourful flowers to look at.

First up in the news 

 Smooch Is Making An Enquiry


Smooch, a white cat with black markings on its head sits indoors, looking directly at the camera with a serious expression. The cat is perched on the P.A.’s lap. Behind them is a softly lit living room with a television screen glowing blue, a white cabinet holding a plant and a framed cat photo, and a pink cat tree.

Smooch got on the P.A.'s lap. He does this after dinner every night. The pawrents retire to the upstairs sitting room. Smooch is first on the sofa, usually Fudge turns up within a few minutes, then Melvyn. 

So Smooch has about four minutes to enjoy a completely uninterrupted brush session.

Pandora Didn't Want To Share The Snuggle Mat

Parsley's Brief Sunspot

Parlsey found a sunspot and enjoyed it for five minutes before the clouds came and ruined everything!

Welcome to another BBHQ selfie selection, and it's been a while since all of us were here. This week, we went down to the field to the bench and captured a wintry scene.

The effect was created using Befunky: Watercolour 3 GFX + colour changes to hue and saturation.

Epic Wednesday Greetings Furiends

Welcome to the BBHQ Midweek News Round-Up!

How's your week going? 

Snowmaggedon didn't arrive after all those HORROR WEATHER PREDICTIONS. But it's only February, and yep, there's still a chance right through March, so we may get some at some point, though it's not guaranteed. We'd actually prefer it missed us altogether! MOL

The weather in recent days has been getting cooler. It was sunny on Caturday and Sunday, but the wind chill has plummeted to minus fingues since Monday. Roll on Spring, and talking of warmer months, we noticed a lot of the bulbs are growing really well, so with a bit of luck we should get some colour ... soooon .... but not soon enough!   

It was a full moon on Sunday, so here's the obligatory moon photo.

It was quite odd, one second the moon wasn't there, the P.A. even checked her moon app to see where it should have been in the sky. And then the clouds parted, and it was visible.... MOL

First up in the news 

Fudge and Parlsey on Pawtrol


Fudge, the ginger cat, and Parsley, the black cat, sit side by side on a paved area, gazing out over a gravel-covered yard. Their backs are to the camera, creating a peaceful scene of quiet companionship. A green bush frames the left side, while a black container rests on the right, adding balance to the tranquil outdoor setting.

It's been damp, did we mention that? 

So Fudge and Parsley decided that they'd do their garden pawtrol by the gazebo.
    
Fudge insisted that he could see everything from the sofa, and it was much more civilised than going and getting one's paws or fur wet if they went deeper into the garden.

Parlsey agreed, and they had a lovely time! MOL

Smooch Is Damp - Melvyn's Sneaky Ambush


Smooch, a white cat with dark markings, sits in the foreground on a woven rug, gazing directly at the camera with slightly damp fur. Smooch went on a covert solo mission into the coal box and came out looking like Parsley. Well, that is a slight exaggeration. He was a muted black, so the P.A. had to wash his fur with a warm flannel. He didn't like the hair dryer, freaked out and went to sit by the woodburner

He'd just got dry apart from his chest fur, when Melvyn thought it would be a good idea for a sneak ambush ... yeah ... guess what Smooch did?
