 Epic Greetings Furiends

Welcome to the BBHQ midweek news round-up!

Happy Wednesday!

Well, what a week, it just goes from bonkers to even more crazy. The washing machine died and went to washing machine heaven on Sunday. Good news, we've got a replacement coming on Thursday, same model, so that was unlucky and lucky! What with the dishwasher, the tumble dryer, and the radiators, things have been really fluffed as of late.

The weather has been a mix of sun, clouds, intermittent sun with clouds and full cloud coverage with wind. The wind was getting up yesterday, and it was a bit too cool for our liking, so we stayed inside, out of the frigid air. Then, last night, it rained with bluster... we hope that fluffs off soon.

But some good news, the hedgehogs are back.

Here's the first picture of one of this year's baby hedglings. The P.A. put some special hedgehog crunchies on the stepping stone

A small hedgehog eats from a pile of dry food on a stone pathway in a softly lit nighttime garden. Raised beds and planters filled with plants line the path, creating a cosy, welcoming scene. This image appears in the BBHQ Midweek News Round‑Up announcing that the hedgehogs—“the Hedglings”—have arrived at BionicBasil®.

We've seen three so far, paws crossed, there's some more in the next few weeks.

And here's this week's Spring flowers.

A black rectangular planter filled with blooming purple tulips sits outdoors on a tiled surface beside a wooden post. A small solar garden light nestles among the flowers, with a neatly trimmed green hedge in the background. Featured in the BBHQ Midweek News Round‑Up at BionicBasil®, celebrating the new tulips now in bloom.

These are some of the new bulbs we mentioned last week. They are just about to pop.

We can't wait to see the others when they emerge.

And now let's look at this week's news.

A bright spring border made of lush green grass topped with alternating pink and white tulips, accented by small yellow flowers. Taller blades of grass rise behind the blooms, creating a fresh, cheerful, garden‑themed decorative frame.

First up in the news this week...

 Sauce is In The Shade

A black cat sits on a gravel path in a sunny garden, positioned in the cool shade beside a raised wooden planter filled with lush greenery. A brick wall with climbing plants forms the backdrop. This photo features Parsley, also known as Mr Sauce, in the BBHQ Midweek News Round‑Up at BionicBasil®.

Parsley, also known as Mr Sauce at BBHQ, was sitting in the courtyard's shade the other day. A few paces back, he could have been in the sunshine.

Next up in the news...

 Pandora's Sunny Spot

A fluffy tortoiseshell cat sits on an antique wooden sleeper in a bright spring garden, surrounded by blooming yellow daffodils. A small black garden ornament rests beside her, with a red wheelbarrow and white summerhouse in the background. Pandora found a sunny spot the other day.

And the daffodils are looking furbulous.

 Fudge's Not Happy

A ginger cat sits beside a large terracotta pot filled with blooming pink and purple hyacinths in a sunny garden. He appears unimpressed as sunlight casts his shadow across the pot. Green foliage and spring flowers surround him. Featured in the BBHQ Midweek News Round‑Up at BionicBasil®, highlighting Fudge’s “not happy” moment.

Fudge was a little hissed off as the P.A. wouldn't let him on the roof; she blocked him just as he was about to launch off the dustbin.

She later found him sulking in the garden! #OHDEAR

And finally, this week

Melvyn's Modelling The Top Bandana Pick

Guys, we're going to make mew laugh now, the P.A. got this month's bandanas in a right twist and muddle, it wasn't Pretty Garden for this week, it was Colourful Owls! MOL OH MY Cod, she seriously needs a day off!

Melvyn looks adorable, and look, he's waving to his fans in the garden - well, the flowers in the pots! MOL

Melvyn, a white tabby with black and brown markings models a colourful owl‑patterned bandana in a two‑photo collage. In one image he sits calmly facing the camera; in the other he reaches a paw toward a window, appearing curious or waving at this fans! LOL A woven rug and wicker basket create a cosy indoor setting. We'll sort out some new bandanas for next week and see if the P.A. can get it right next time! MOL #pawscrossed

The BBHQ Midweek News Round-Up **More Spring Flowers & Blue Skies** ~ Fudge's Rooftop Mission, Parsley's Garden Pawtrol, and Smooch Got The New Rug First ~ **PLUS** Melvyn's Modelling

 Epic Greetings Furiends

Welcome to the BBHQ midweek news round-up!

As mew can see, we've moved on from the St Paddy's Day festivities of recent days, so don't expect any leprechauns, rainbows or pots of gold to unexpectedly appear, although given the nature of things at BBHQ, all of the aforementioned could actually pop up anytime! MOL

Right, let's begin with the weather. Last week's news mentioned that it had remained dry with a few light drizzles. This week, no drizzles whatsoever, in fact, it has been intermittently sunny with dark clouds threatening rain, but it never reached BBHQ. Well, if it did, it was overnight, and we missed it.

And the most shocking thing so far this year - we've had blue skies in the last few days more than once.

Now for this week's **SPRING** update.

A vibrant spring garden filled with colourful flowers, moss‑covered rocks, and bright green foliage. A birdbath with two small bird figurines sits to the right, reflecting the surrounding blooms. Shiny garden spheres are nestled among the plants, and bare branches in the foreground hint at early spring growth.

It's so lovely to finally see a little splash of colour in the garden ... and yes, we know there are lots of dead leaves in the flower bed. There's a reason for this: while the main bulk of the fallen leaves are composted in the autumn, the P.A. makes sure that all the flower borders have a nice thick layer over them, so it not only protects the bulbs and plant roots from frost, it also acts as a habitat for insects and other creepy crawlies in the garden.

She will probably put fresh compost on top in the warmer months, once the inhabitants have woken up and come out of hibernation. Plus, it acts as a lovely weed barrier too. Much cheaper than the bark, which the birds fling everywhere.

Yep, the birds at BBHQ are that rude, no due care or attention, or fluffs are given when they are in the midst of bark flinging! MOL

Are mew ready for this week's news?

First up in the news this week...

Fudge's Rooftop Mission

FUDGE - An orange tabby cat walks carefully along the edge of a tiled roof, looking down as if planning its next move. The reddish‑brown tiles have small patches of pale lichen nestled between them, creating a dramatic backdrop for the cat’s rooftop adventure.

Fudge was back on the roof, for a change. He said he needed to spy on Smooch because Smooch keeps showing up with black, dusty paws.

Fudge's sneaky report details that Smooch does, in fact, go into the coal pile, for what, remains to be determined.

Also, Smooch hates getting his mittens washed after this excustions! MOL  #OHDEAR

Next up in the news...

 Parsley's Garden Pawtrol

A black cat wearing a collar sits on a stone garden path surrounded by purple flowers, green foliage, and a large ceramic pot with a solar light. Trimmed bushes and tall trees frame the sunny garden scene as the cat looks off to the side, appearing to survey the area on “pawtrol.”

Parsley was enjoying the sunshine on his pawtrol around the garden. He found a nice sheltered spot where the cool breeze didn't ruffle his fur.

He said, and I quote, "It was epic until a large cloud came along and ruined all the warms!"

Smooch Got The New Rug First

A white cat with bold black markings lounges on a woven beige rug, stretched out comfortably on its side with hind legs extended and front paws bent. The wooden floor frames the cosy scene as the cat enjoys first dibs on the new rug

The P.A. got a new rug the other day, and rolled it out in the catservatory temporarily while it fully unfurls and becomes less of a trip hazard.

It hadn't been there for two minutes, and this happened.

Yep, Smooch is now the proud owner of a brand new porch rug ... MOL

And finally, this week

Melvyn's Modelling The Top Bandana Pick

Last week, mew obviously all voted for The St. Paddy's Day bandana, so here's the little dude sharing all the luck of the Irish! MOL

A white‑and‑tabby cat stands on a glossy black granite surface wearing a black bandana patterned with green shamrocks. A modern kitchen with cream cabinets and a large stainless fridge appears in the background, along with a white orchid. The cat looks alert and slightly to the left, framed with a clean white border.

Doesn't he look epic?

Oh, and W.D.G. still hasn't arrived back at BBHQ; he's decided to extend his vacation a little longer!

As Melvyn's modelled this bandana before, mew can watch his previous catwalk strut on your preferred social media channel:

A curved string of pastel pennant flags hangs in gentle arcs, with triangles in soft blue, pink, yellow, and green. At each peak of the curve sits a white flower with a yellow center, giving the decoration a cheerful, festive look suitable for celebrations or spring‑themed designs.

Which one should he model next?

Here's the March Bandana Selection, and as we're headed full steam into Spring, we chose some colourful and bright bandanas for this month. Plus, it's St Paddy's Day, too, and how could we not have one for that epic day! MOL

Four colourful triangular cat bandanas are arranged in a neat grid on a textured background, each labelled 1 to 4 as part of the March 2026 Collection. Bandana 1 has a purple base with bright floral and butterfly patterns. Bandana 2 features a green background with whimsical spring illustrations including a girl, birds, flowers, and a dog in a basket. Bandana 3 shows a cream background covered in multicoloured owls with pink and blue rickrack trim. Bandana 4 has a black background decorated with vibrant green shamrocks for a St Patrick’s Day theme. The overall look is cheerful and seasonal, showcasing the variety of designs available for the BBHQ cats.

The March Collection:

1. Spring Vibes

2. Pretty Garden

3.  Colourful Owls

4. St Paddy's Day

One more to go! MOL

The BBHQ Midweek News Round-Up **Rainbows and a Fingernail Moon** ~ Parsley's Epic Find, Fudge Pawtrolling The Garden, and Smooch Loves His Spidery Basket ~ **PLUS** Melvyn's Modelling

Epic Wednesday Greetings Furiends

Welcome to the BBHQ Midweek News Round-Up!

How's your week going?

If mew remember last week, it had been raining, like we never thought it was going to fluff off. We were actually going to get the pirate ship out of the lagoon on Level 8 and go for a sail around the village, but then ... then ... after a particularly blustery and squally Friday, a double rainbow appeared.

Yes, we know there's only one rainbow visible in the photo; the second was too faint to capture on film.

Anyhoo, the weather dried up, it was a little drizzly late Caturday afternoon, but on Sunday we had a pawsitively heady 14 degrees Celsius. Monday was sunny, Tuesday sunnier, and today it's predicted to climb to an astounding 16 degrees.

Well, with that news mew can tickle my toebeans and roll me catnip! MOL

A bright rainbow arcs through an overcast sky, partially framed by the bare branches of a tree. It appears behind a brick building with a sloped roof, with a small evergreen tree nearby. In the foreground, a dark metal railing and some shrubs are visible, creating a peaceful outdoor scene at BBHQ.

This was the moon of Friday night, and I shall use the term Eric and Flynn's Mum mentioned in a comment a while ago. She said, and I quote, "This is a fingernail moon."

Wow, don't mew love that expression, it's EPIC!

A slim crescent moon hangs in a deepening blue evening sky above BBHQ. Silhouetted leafless tree branches and the dark tiled roofline of a building frame the scene, with a single cable stretching across the sky, creating a calm twilight moment.

So, there mew have it, rainbows and a fingernail moon, sun, warmth, very little rain, the bulbs are sprouting at a rate of knots, and the nights are drawing out.

So we've got oodles of happy, content vibes happening right now at BBHQ - it doesn't take a lot! MOL

Anyhoo, let's look at what the rest of the heathens have been up to this week.

A festive divider featuring a central pink cupcake topped with a red heart, flanked by pink gift boxes adorned with hearts and swirled pink lollipops. Smaller red hearts surround the arrangement, creating a cheerful and romantic design perfect for Valentine's Day or love-themed celebrations.

First up in the news

Parsley's Epic Find

Parsley, a black cat wearing a collar, sits on a gravel surface beside a terracotta pot filled with green leaves. He faces the plant intently, as if inspecting a single surviving sprig of catnip in the courtyard/garden at BBHQ.

Parsley couldn't believe his luck, normally everypawdy goes out of the patio doors during the winter months, but the other day, he decided he wanted to go out the back door, and he found this one lone sprig of catnip that survived the winter.

He was feeling so lucky, while Fudge below missed out completely! MOL

 Fudge Pawtrolling The Garden

Fudge, a ginger cat with a fluffy tail, stands on terracotta garden tiles facing a moss‑covered rock and green plants. He wears a dark collar and appears to be surveying the garden, creating a peaceful outdoor “pawtrol” moment at BBHQ.

Fudge went to check the catmint in the millwheel. He was deeply disturbed as the P.A. scalped it a few days ago.

He was not a happy camper. #ohdear

Bet he wishes he had gone out the back door instead!!! MOL

In other news...

Smooch Loves His Spidery Basket

Smooch, a white cat with black markings, is curled up in a wicker basket lined with a red blanket. A red heart‑shaped cushion sits behind him, creating a warm, cosy scene. The basket rests near a window with a few fallen leaves visible outside, adding a seasonal touch. If you look closer the basket has cobwebs....

So, mew may or may not remember; it depends on whether mew were here in January. The P.A. was washing all the blankets and snuggle mats around the house. She works through this endless task every few weeks.

Anyhoo, the basket under the gazebo, this one, with Smooch in. The day she wanted to wash all of these, Smooch was adamant it wasn't happening, because he was in there.

This is where he hangs out for hours at a time, and he was just drying out after a wander through the wet plants the other day.

So we're going to make mew laugh now, the P.A. went to pull the blanket out on the weekend, when he wasn't in it, and there was a fluffing ginormous spider peeking out from the side of the blanket.

Yep, the blanket didn't get washed again, can't think why??!!! MOL

And finally, this week

Melvyn's Modelling The Top Bandana Pick

Melvyn's modelling the final Valentine bandana today ~ Red hearts with red fringing

Melvyn, a white cat with brown, grey and black markings, stands on a reflective kitchen countertop wearing a black bandana decorated with red and pink hearts and a red fringe trim. Behind him are cream‑coloured cabinets, a tiled backsplash, and a window letting in natural light, creating a bright, modern kitchen setting.

Doesn't he look cute?

Sorry, the camera just isn't working at the moment. It seems rather odd; maybe it's time for a new camera! MOL

As soon as we get the videography back on track, Melvyn will be back on the catwalk properly.
