The BBHQ Midweek News Round-Up **Fantastic Foxgloves!!!** ~ Fudge's Relaxing in The Garden, Smooch's in The Summerhouse, and Parsley's Under the Log Basket ~ **PLUS** Melvyn's Modelling

Furbulous Greetings Supurr Furiends

Welcome to the BBHQ midweek news round-up!

Happy Wednesday, pawesome furiends, and thank mew so much for dropping by. Relax, get comfortable, and let’s dive into what’s been happening at BBHQ over the last few days.

The weather, well, not much of a report, more of a frigid washout with a few sunny spells here and there. The temps have been very cool, the rain very wet and rather offensive with big, chubby drops, and the sun, when it appeared, warm but not warm enough.

However, according to Cat Dad's weather app, this weekend it will get back towards normal June temperatures, with a possible high of 26 Celsius on Caturday, so we are really looking forward to that! MOL

And then the UK weather peeps are predicting another supurr scorchio heatwave, allegedly, with a huge red alert starting around June 19th/20th with highs of 34C in certain places - so prepare for instantaneous combustion like a vampire in sunlight from that date - we'll believe it when we see it.

Mew know what makes us MOL so much is when mew see weather maps now that are essentially inferno hell maps: deep bloody crimsons, angry dangerous reds, vile unpredictable oranges, and all the colours completely unnecessary in weather descriptions.

We remember the good old days, with a nice little pale green map of the UK, and cute stickers of a yellow sun, a white cloud, a cloud with rain, a cloud with rain and lightning, a little gusty depiction, a sun and cloud, etc...

What we want to know is why all the red tones? Odd! MOL

Here's this week's flower offering, two fantastic foxgloves.

A tall flowering foxglove stands in a lush green garden, its vertical column of bell‑shaped blooms fading from pale green buds at the top to soft purple and white speckled flowers lower down. Dense foliage surrounds the plant, creating a vibrant, natural BBHQ garden scene.

The one above is so delicate, like a pastel presence shimmering among the green foliage.

And this one below, a gorgeous magenta, a colour that pops like a little firecracker from under the shade of the trees.

A tall magenta foxglove flower grows beside a tree trunk, its tubular blossoms arranged in a descending cluster. The blooms are deep purple‑pink with speckled white interiors, contrasting against the rough textured bark and surrounding green foliage.

We did have some meautiful peach-toned ones, but at the moment they are not showing, but we'll see if the weather warms a little and they might come out to play! MOL

Anyhoo, let's look at this week's top headlines.

First up in the news this week

 Fudge's Relaxing in The Garden

Fudge, an orange tabby cat wearing a red collar with a small bell relaxes on a large smooth grey stone millwheel outdoors. He is stretched out comfortably, surrounded by greenery and flowers in soft natural light, creating a peaceful garden scene at BBHQ.

In a brief dry spell, with a bit of sunshine, Fudge got on one of his favourite spots, the big, granite millwheel.

When it's really warm, these stones heat up like a nice hot water bottle, and everypawdy loves a turn! MOL

Next up in the news

Smooch's in The Summerhouse

Smooch, a white cat with black markings and a red collar stands on a blue‑and‑white textured rug inside a wooden summerhouse. He looks to the right toward a multi‑level sisal‑covered cat tree topped with a colourful woven mat. Wooden walls and soft natural light create a warm, cosy indoor setting.

Smooch said it was too windy under the gazebo, and insisted on the summerhouse being opened so he could snooze on the huge cat tree in there.

He was just checking if anypawdy had been on the blanket lately! MOL

 Parsley's Under the Log Basket

Parsley, a black cat relaxes on a stone surface in a shaded outdoor area, lying beneath a metal log basket filled with wooden logs. Plants, wooden boards, and small pebbles surround the scene as he rests comfortably in the cool shade.

In another brief sunny dry spell, Parsley decided he needed to get under the log basket. Personally, I think he was looking for spiders! MOL

Finally this week

Melvyn's Modelling The Top Bandana Pick

Last week, mew voted for the supurr cute Caticorn bandana; Melvyn loves this one. His favourite toy is a unicorn, so he was bursting with joy! MOL

A white cat with brown and black markings sits on a dark kitchen countertop wearing a light‑blue bandana decorated with cartoon caticorns, rainbows, and stars. A small yellow tag hangs from the bandana. Kitchen cabinets, a fridge, and ceiling beams form the background as Melvyn models the caticorn bandana.

Look at him, this is his faraway gaze, he was dreaming of unicorns! MOL MOL

Furbulous Greetings Supurr Furiends

Welcome to the BBHQ midweek news round-up!

Happy Wednesday, supurr furiends, and thanks so much for dropping by. Relax, get comfortable, and let’s dive into what’s been happening at BBHQ this week.

Here's the weather report: Well, after last week's supurr scorchio heatwave, it cooled down on Caturday, then even more on Sunday, the heavens opened Monday, and it rained all night.

And yesterday it was a mix of clouds and sun all day with a high of 19 Celsius, which is much more tolerable than last week.

Those high temperatures in the U.K. are suffocating, as it's so humid and unpleasant. We even got the portable air-con unit out, as the bricks warm up and then the house gets hotter and hotter until it heaves with heat due to the extra-thick walls.

Anyhoo, we like this week's weather better, and on Sunday we helped snoopervise in the veggie garden as the P.A. and Cat Dad planted: runner beans, peas, broad beans, lettuce, courgettes, tomatoes, mini cucumbers, all types of peppers, more tomatoes, more lettuce, shallots, and beetroot.

Plus nasturtiums as sacrificial plants, oh, and there was some basil, not me MOL, and coriander planted too, as the older herbs had wilted too much in the heat.

Cat Dad is planning to set up an irrigation system once the planting is finished. There are a lot more empty pots, and the P.A. will hopefully get some more compost and a few more plants next weekend, and we're done there.

Here's this week's flower offering, this time we're sharing the rose in the courtyard and the one at the back of the summerhouse.

A climbing rose bush covered in deep red blossoms grows against a brick wall beside a window. Glossy green leaves surround the clusters of roses, which cascade toward a garden bed filled with purple‑blue groundcover plants. Bright sunlight highlights the vivid colours in this BBHQ garden scene.

The blooms are incredible!

A lush flowering shrub covered in large clusters of creamy‑white blossoms, each made up of many small, tightly packed petals. The green foliage surrounds the blooms, with hints of pink flowers and darker leaves from nearby plants in the background, creating a vibrant garden scene at BBHQ.

We'll share more flowers next time, and if mew're wondering where this week's jigsaw puzzle is, there isn't one as last time's absolutely crippled them emotionally!!! MOL MOL

There are still two more to go, so don't worry, we'll share those after the P.A. gets over her boggle!

Anyhoo, let's look at this week's top headlines.

First up in the news this week

Fudge's on Garden Pawtrol

An orange cat with a fluffy tail sits on a stone garden path, facing away while surveying a lush, sunlit garden. Small blue flowers bloom in the foreground, and two garden lights sit among the greenery as Fudge keeps watch on garden pawtrol.

Fudge enjoyed a lovely garden pawtrol the other day, well, he does every day, but the P.A. managed to snap him in action, well, sitting there assessing everything! MOL

Smooch's Chillaxing Under The Gazebo

A white cat with black markings and a red collar relaxes on a beige cushioned sofa under a gazebo. Two large beige pillows sit behind him, and soft natural light filters through greenery in the background as tripawed Smooch chillaxes comfortably.

Smooch got himself under the gazebo for a nice chillaxing session; he knows where to get! MOL

 Parsley's Deep in Flower Garden

A black cat rests on a mossy surface deep within a lush flower garden, surrounded by green foliage and small blooms. Wearing a collar with a tag, Parsley blends into the shadows as vibrant leaves and plants frame him in the tranquil outdoor setting.

And Parsley decided to go off the beaten track, deep into the flower garden and get himself cooled down on one of the large moss-covered rocks for the afternoon. Yep, what a place to be! MOLA decorative floral divider featuring bright green grass topped with pink roses, small blue blossoms, and delicate white flowers arranged in a colourful, symmetrical spring design.

Finally this week

Melvyn's Modelling The Top Bandana Pick

The Psychedelic Feline bandana is this week's top pick. Last week we thought the P.A. might have finished the new collection, but sadly she didn't, so this month we're returning to some summer favourites!

Stylish white and tabby cat, Melvyn, models a vibrant yellow bandana featuring colourful cat illustrations and sun motifs, sitting confidently on a sleek black granite kitchen countertop. The modern kitchen backdrop includes white cabinets and a stainless steel range hood, adding an elegant contrast to Melvyn's playful pet fashion look. Perfect inspiration for cat lovers, pet accessories, and feline fashion trends. Seen on www.bionicbasil.com

Doesn't he look epic?

And as he modelled this bandana way back in March 2023, we have videos to share again!

Check out Melvyn's videos on your favourite social media channel below, and he chose classic 80s tracks to strut to:

The BBHQ Midweek News Round-Up **Lovely Lupins!!!** ~ Smooch and Sauce Plotting Chaos, Fudge Eating Cat Grass, and Pandora's Supurr Floof & Flat Out ~ **PLUS** Melvyn's Modelling

This week: Lovely lupins, even more floof explosions, puzzle chaos, and Fudge's favourite grass buffet! MOL

Furbulous Greetings Supurr Furiends

Welcome to the BBHQ midweek news round-up!

Happy Wednesday, supurr furiends, and thanks so much for dropping by. Settle in, get comfy, and let’s dive into what’s been happening at BBHQ this week.

Here's the weather report: after last week's big moan-and-groan session, the last few days have been deliciously warm. In fact, it has been scorchio, we even had 32 Celcius on Friday, although that cooled down about 2 degrees, which was still utterly delightful. Then it bipped up again and has remained scorching for the last few days.

Although last night we did get a thunderstorm to clear the air. We've had the fans running all day and night, even the catservatory has been off limits.

Let's just say this, so far, the best week of spring!!! MOL

And here's this week's flower offering: Lovely lupins!

A close-up view of tall purple and white lupin flower spikes blooming in the BBHQ garden, surrounded by lush green foliage. Behind the flowers, a gravel driveway, trees, and a rustic building create a peaceful outdoor backdrop in soft natural light.

This one always flowers first, and it bloomed a couple of weeks ago. The purple-blue hue is a feast for the soul, and seriously, Mother Nature is epically epic.

Pandora was just the other side, on the gravel, but this plant is so big that mew can't see her! MOL

Colourful Pleasure Coast ~ 1000 Piece Jigsaw

If mew've been following the P.A.'s Puzzle Pawty at BBHQ, here's number five. To see the others, click the links below:

OMC, this one was horrific!!! The P.A. and Cat Dad took over a week to do this. The palm trees, the houses, the beach and the sea - during construction, sentences like this were muttered many times over:

“Every piece looks like it belongs everywhere and nowhere at the same time.”

“I swear this sky has 47 identical shades of orange. Who allowed this?”

“Why does every palm tree leaf look like every other palm tree leaf?”

“This puzzle has personally attacked me and my entire bloodline.”

“I found three pieces that fit perfectly… until they didn’t. Total betrayal.”

"I hate this puzzle so much!!!"

“I’m convinced the manufacturer sprinkled in pieces from a completely different puzzle.”

“What the fluff, I'm questioning my life choices, my sanity, and the nature of reality.”

MOL MOL - Sorry to laugh, but it was hilarious; they even brought in reinforcements to assist with the final section in the middle.

It's available from Amazon UK - no, there are no links or affiliates here, just pointing the way, if mew're interested.

Anyhoo, let's look at this week's top headlines.

A decorative floral divider featuring bright green grass topped with pink roses, small blue blossoms, and delicate white flowers arranged in a colourful, symmetrical spring design.

First up in the news this week

Smooch and Sauce Plotting Chaos

A white‑and‑black tripawed cat named Smooch sits on the left beside Parsley Sauce, a sleek black cat, both wearing collars with tiny bells. They sit on a light wooden floor near a doorway, with a woven mat behind them and part of a decorative column to the right, looking as though they’re quietly plotting their next bout of BBHQ chaos.

Firstly, we don't know why they look so fuzzy and fluffy... maybe it's the light! MOl

Anyhoo, just look at them, mew know they are on with something, oh yes, Smooch is plotting, we're not sure what, but no doubt we'll find out soon enough.

And Parlsey looks like he's been press-ganged into whatever mischief is about to unfold.

As long as it doesn't involve a tank or a bazooka, I think we'll be good! MOL

Next up in the news

Fudge Eating Cat Grass

A ginger cat named Fudge walks through the BBHQ garden, partially hidden by tall grass as he munches enthusiastically on fresh cat grass. A large weathered terracotta pot sits behind him, surrounded by greenery and evergreen trees, creating a rustic, natural garden scene.

Fudge was doing some hardcore cat grass nomming the other day.

This is his favourite go-to Supurr Greens Self-Service Buffet in the BBHQ garden.

Pandora's Supurr Floof & Flat Out

A brindle tortoiseshell cat named Pandora lies flat out on a dark grey blanket on the couch, her supurr floofy coat spread around her as she relaxes among patterned cushions in a cosy indoor setting.

Pandora was flat out on the sofa having her fur ruffled by the fan. She's so floofy at the moment, and she's put a little weight on since her dental surgery earlier in the year.

For Cod's sake, don't tell anypawdy that we said she looks a little chonky!!! MOL

Finally this week

Melvyn's Modelling The Top Bandana Pick

Last week, The Purple Flowers bandana received the majority of votes, so here's BBHQ's resident Supurr Model doing what he does best!
