 Epic Greetings Furiends

Welcome to the BBHQ midweek news round-up!

We hope mew are having a lovely week.

Let's begin with the weather report.

Well, compared to last week, it has improved somewhat. However, Good Friday and the Easter weekend were rather overcast, and Caturday evening was like a whirlwind. But then on Monday the sun came out, and again on Tuesday, with it being even warmer.

The P.A. has had to fill the birdbaths up and water some of the pots as everything has dried out. It seems quite mad after all the rain over the winter, but then so it goes! MOL

Last week, on Wednesday, was the full moon, and the photo we shared was from Monday evening. Here's the actual full moon:

A nighttime sky with a bright full moon partially hidden behind thick, swirling clouds. The moonlight creates a glowing halo with subtle rainbow hues around the cloud edges. In the foreground, a silhouetted pergola or garden structure is outlined by small string lights. Bare tree branches stretch in from the right side, adding contrast against the illuminated clouds. The scene has a calm, atmospheric feel. The bottom of the image includes the text “copyright www.bionicbasil.com"

It had a really pretty halo around it, and the clouds were quite atmospheric, so all in all, not a bad moon pic! MOL

Now let's look at the news.

A bright spring border made of lush green grass topped with alternating pink and white tulips, accented by small yellow flowers. Taller blades of grass rise behind the blooms, creating a fresh, cheerful, garden‑themed decorative frame.

First up in the news this week...

Pandora Showing Off The Tulips

Pandora, a fluffy dark‑coloured cat sits on a light wooden deck beside two small solar garden lights. Behind the cat is a garden bed with green plants and tall dried stems. To the right, a terracotta pot overflows with blooming pink and purple tulips. A dark wooden fence frames the background. The scene feels peaceful and homely. The bottom of the image includes the text “copyright www.bionicbasil.com.”

Pandora loves the pink and magenta tulips!

And honestly, who can blame her?

These tulips below have been blooming for a week or so, but the centre flowers were being a little resistant to opening; they were closed on Caturday, but on Monday they burst forth!

A collage of four side‑by‑side photos showing a rectangular black planter filled with blooming tulips in shades of purple, pink, and a few red‑orange accents. The planter sits on a sunlit patio surrounded by wooden structures and garden greenery. Bright daylight highlights the vivid colours of the flowers. The text “copyright www.bionicbasil.com” appears at the bottom centre.

Hopefully, more will be out in front of the catservatory over the next few days, as they seem to be a little slow to emerge.

The red ones we shared last week have been blooming for days; if the others are out for next week, we'll definitely share!

Next up in the news...

Fudge and Smooch Nose To Nose

An orange cat with a fluffy tail stands on a sunlit wooden deck, leaning forward to touch noses with a white cat marked with black patches. The second cat sits inside a large planter filled with tall, grassy plants. Bright sunlight casts clear shadows across the deck, and stone pavers form the background. The text “copyright www.bionicbasil.com” appears at the bottom.

Fudge and Smooch were nose to nose on the back deck.

Don't ask what they were discussing, because we have no idea! MOL

In other news...

Melvyn's Flat Out on The Huge Cushion

Melvyn, a brown black‑and‑white tabby cat lies stretched out on a large, colourful patchwork cushion made of floral and patterned fabric squares. To the right stands a tall pink cat tree with multiple levels, sisal‑wrapped scratching posts, pom‑pom trim, and several plush toys. A woven basket filled with more toys sits beside it. On the left, a pink paw‑print stool and a fluffy pink chair add to the cosy indoor cat space. Light wooden flooring and a beige rug complete the warm, playful setting. The image includes the text “copyright www.bionicbasil.com.”

While everypawdy was outside, Melvyn decided to get comfy on one of Fudge's favourite snooze spots!

Don't tell Fudge! MOL

And finally, this week

Melvyn's Modelling The Top Bandana Pick

Ballooning with Furiends won the vote last week.

He spent ten minutes rolling all over the place before the P.A. managed to get this photo! MOL

Melvyn a white, black‑and‑brown tabby cat lounges on a dark textured outdoor mat near a brick wall and white door. The cat wears a colourful bandana decorated with cartoon designs, including a pink rhino, clouds, stars, and playful patterns. Reflections of greenery appear in a nearby window, and outdoor furniture and plants create a cosy patio setting. The text “copyright www.bionicbasil.com” appears at the bottom.

So much cuteness is happening right now! MOL

A curved string of pastel pennant flags hangs in gentle arcs, with triangles in soft blue, pink, yellow, and green. At each peak of the curve sits a white flower with a yellow center, giving the decoration a cheerful, festive look suitable for celebrations or spring‑themed designs.

Which one should he model next?

Here's the April Bandana collection.

As spring is now officially here, we chose some more colourful and bright bandanas for this month.

Five colourful triangular bandanas are arranged on a light wooden surface, each with a different vibrant pattern. Designs include hot‑air balloons and animals, stylised floral motifs, large pink flowers on teal, playful pink cats on black, and a yellow‑and‑pink floral print. Text reads “The April Bandana Collection at BBHQ.

The BBHQ Midweek News Round-Up **FULL MOON VIBES INCOMING!!!** ~ Smooch Says Mew Missed A Bit, Fudge's Favourite Grass Spot, and Parsley's Outdoor Snuggle Spot ~ **PLUS** Melvyn's Modelling

 Epic Greetings Furiends

Welcome to the BBHQ midweek news round-up!

Happy April Fools Day ~ Did mew prank anypawdy today?

We didn't because that kind of behaviour happens all the time at BBHQ, so we thought we'd take the day off! MOL

Oh good gravy, the weather, let's talk about that for a moment, it's been windy, blustery, gusty and cold. Mew know the really funny thing, that after it's been a supurr blustery day right up until bedtime and later, blowing wildly and being totally obnoxious, guess what?

In the middle of the night, it's calmer than a mill pond, every night, not a puff of a breeze or whisper of air, just completely still. How's that work? It's not a recent thing either.

Anyhoo, it's a full moon tonight, so here's Monday night's offering, not great, but better than nothing.

A nighttime garden scene featuring a small white shed outlined with warm string lights, framed by bare branches and a metal archway. A bright almost full moon glows in the deep blue sky above, casting soft light across the quiet BBHQ garden.

We'll take some proper pics tonight, for next week.

Good news, the hedgehogs are visiting, three so far, so we'll keep mew posted on that.

The tulips are bursting forth in a riot of colour, which pleases us tremendously as we are so over the winter.

A black circular planter filled with bright red tulips and lush green foliage sits on a gravel surface outside a building. The tulips are in full bloom, their vivid red petals contrasting with the greenery and the reflective window behind them

Look at that red, isn't it glorious? Here's hoping that more will burst forth for next week.

Anyhoo, let's look at what's been happening at BBHQ.

A bright spring border made of lush green grass topped with alternating pink and white tulips, accented by small yellow flowers. Taller blades of grass rise behind the blooms, creating a fresh, cheerful, garden‑themed decorative frame.

First up in the news this week...

Smooch Says Mew Missed A Bit

White cat with black markings stands on a wooden deck, mid‑meow, looking up as if calling for attention. A white bench and a metal planter with greenery sit behind him, creating a cosy outdoor BBHQ scene.

Smooch was on the rear deck by the pond, complaining that somepawdy had missed a spot of green algae under the bench. Yep, he threatened that whoever it was needed to get back out there and finish the job properly.

We can't share the P.A.s response, as we're nice cats, and what she said fell well outside those parameters! MOL

Next up in the news...

Fudge's Favourite Grass Spot

Fudge, a fluffy ginger cat, walks through long green grass in the BBHQ garden, partially hidden by plants. A large weathered terracotta pot and dense evergreen branches create a rustic, leafy backdrop, with a small black garden light nearby.

On a little pawtrol Fudge went to his favourite clump of grass and had his fill. Then he furry kindly left a furball on the doormat by the patio doors.

He is so thoughtful, don't mew think?

MOL MOL

In other news...

Parsley's Outdoor Snuggle Spot

Parsley, a sleek black cat wearing a green collar, lounges in a patch of sunlight on a wooden threshold. He’s stretched out on an orange‑and‑red patterned mat, with soft indoor carpet behind him, enjoying his favourite cosy outdoor snuggle spot.

We did get a bit of sunshine yesterday, so while the P.A. was in the craft room, Parsley enjoyed a supurr snuggle spot in the doorway.

And finally, this week

Melvyn's Modelling The Top Bandana Pick

And now, fashion fans, it’s time for Melvyn’s moment…

He got a head start with the Cute Pink Cats bandana.

Melvyn, a white, black and brown tabby cat, stands on a dark kitchen countertop wearing a colourful bandana decorated with pink cats, flowers, and leaves on a black background. Soft daylight from a nearby window brightens the kitchen, with pale cabinets and small appliances in the background.

Apologies, the photo is a little blurry, Melvyn was supurr effervescent yesterday and couldn't keep still! MOL

Midweek News Banner ©BionicBasil® Spring 2025

 Epic Greetings Furiends

Welcome to the BBHQ midweek news round-up!

Happy April!

What another glorious week at BBHQ! The sun has been shining, meaning we've had oodles of sun puddles coupled with lots of lounging in the warms.

But it's still horribly cold at night, but we can deal with it because the days are so sunny! MOL

Oh, and just look at this, the hyacinths have bloomed!

The BBHQ Midweek News Round-Up ©BionicBasil® The Hyacinth's Are Blooming

If mew missed the long road to bloomage, click here to catch up.

They bloomed fully on the weekend; they are the first ones. There are some pinky coloured ones that are about to emerge, and all the tulips and anemones are gathering steam now, so perhaps in the next week or so, there'll be a blooming marvellous display.

We can't wait to see that, and of course, we'll be sharing it all here, so mew can enjoy the flowers too!

Fudge Has A Question

The BBHQ Midweek News Round-Up ©BionicBasil® Fudge Has A Question

Remember last week? When Fudge was willing the catmint to grow.

He was mightily fluffed off when he saw a pot full of hyacinths blooming and looking supurr colourful and pretty.

So he asked them why are they in full bloom and is the catmint is in some sort of stasis?

He waited twenty minutes for an answer, but none came, so in his frustration, he went and verbally blasted the catmint.

Needless to say, the catmint remained in its 'stasis' state and refused to be taunted into growth by Fudge. Who is now sulking somewhere in the bunker! MOL
