A colourful Halloween-themed Midweek News banner featuring seven members of the B Team dressed in purple and black witch hats and cosy orange scarves. A central sign reads “Midweek News Round Up with The B Team,” while a speech bubble announces “Extra! Extra! Read All About It!” The cats are surrounded by glowing jack-o’-lanterns, bubbling purple cauldrons, sweets, candles, autumn leaves, newspapers and magical lanterns. Epic Greetings, Furbulous Furiends

Welcome to the BBHQ midweek news round-up!

Happy Wednesday, and thank mew so much for stopping by. Pull up a chair, get comfortable, and let’s dive into what’s been happening at BBHQ over the last few days.

The Weather Report

Oh good gravy, it was a supurr windy, gusty, blowy weekend, so much so that we didn't really go out much. The wind whipped around like a mini tornado; the trees whirled; it was quite surreal.

The P. A. says she's never seen it like that before in the garden, wind in all directions at once. Luckily, everything survived; the bottlebrush shrub got blown over, so that was left on the floor until the storm passed. It rained too; we didn't like that.

Panodra insisted on going outside; we watched. She lasted 15 seconds and then rushed back in, her fur everywhere - promise we didn't laugh - actually, we did! MOL

This Week's Flower Offering

A beautiful pinky magenta dahlia in bloom, featuring eight delicate petals with warm golden-yellow and orange centres radiating towards a dark burgundy middle filled with tiny yellow florets. Surrounded by lush green foliage and an unopened flower bud, the vibrant bloom adds a splash of colour to the garden. ©BionicBasil®

This is another stunning dahlia in the flower bed in front of the summer house.

Its colours are gorgeous: the magenta pinky tone with bright yellow-gold flashes; it is spectacular.

We were surprised they are all still flowering this late, but then the scorchio summer did set them back, and they only started to appear in September, so better late than never! MOL

Anyhoo, here are this week's top headlines.

First up in the news

Fudge and Melvyn Chillaxing

A fluffy ginger tabby cat lounges comfortably on a natural woven rug, gazing to the left with its front paws stretched out and bushy tail resting behind it. In the background, a tabby-and-white cat lies fully stretched out on the same rug, enjoying a peaceful moment indoors. ©BionicBasil®

These two were loving the warmth from the woodburner; Fudge was having a bath while Melvyn was flat out! MOL

Smooch's in The Basket

A white cat with black patches relaxes in a large wicker basket lined with a cosy, bright red fleece blanket beside a glass door. The cat looks content and slightly sleepy, nestled among the soft folds, while fallen autumn leaves and garden foliage add a seasonal touch to the peaceful outdoor scene. ©BionicBasil®

Smooch got in his basket for snuggles after he'd got a bit damp pawtrolling through the wet garden border and flowers; he was surrounded by leaves and debris from the weekend!

Not one fluff was given about the mess, he said, and I quote, it's ok, the P.A. will take care of it! MOL

Finally this week

Pandora's in The Kitchen

A beautiful, fluffy tortoiseshell cat with a thick, flowing coat of black, brown and golden fur stands on a natural woven rug in the kitchen, looking back over its shoulder. Black wooden dining chairs with striped cushions and cream kitchen cabinets complete the cosy indoor scene. ©BionicBasil®

Pandora was in the kitchen yesterday; she was avoiding Fudge, Melvyn and Parsley as they were playing in the sitting room.

It was too rambunctious in there for her! MOL

This was the moon Sunday at 9.13pm - just look at that halo.

A bright moon shines through a textured blue-grey sky, surrounded by a beautiful circular rainbow halo of soft red, yellow, green and blue. Dark green tree branches and delicate leaves frame the lower left of the photograph, creating a striking contrast against the glowing sky. ©BionicBasil®

It was incredible, and the clouds were amazing.

The BBHQ Midweek News Round-Up **THE YUCCA IN FULL BLOOM!** ~ Fudge's Looking Supurr Cute, Tuna Time with Pandora, and Melvyn's In The Box ~ **PLUS** ROBIN ~ AGAIN!

Seven cats sit in a vibrant autumn scene filled with pumpkins, sunflowers, red and orange leaves and fluttering butterflies. A sunset glows behind the forest, scattered newspapers lie among the foliage and one cat shouts from a speech bubble, “Extra! Extra! Read all about it!” The central text announces the Midweek News Round‑Up with The B Team in a bold, seasonal style.
This week on the news: ginger cuteness, tasty tuna, a new box and robin!

Oh gosh, the weather has been rainy, a bit windy, a bit drizzly, some sunshine, and a much cooler breeze. The temps are now hovering around 11C to 13C... so not bad, manageable, not cold enough for the woodburner to get lit yet! MOL

Still very much the same as last week, although apparently there's the first named winter storm heading in at the weekend, which we hope misses us.

This Week's Flower Offering

A yucca plant in full bloom at BBHQ showcases a spectacular spike of creamy-white, bell-shaped flowers rising above a rosette of long green leaves. Set against a backdrop of mature trees, garden shrubs, and bright red flowers, the sunlit display highlights the beauty of this striking architectural garden plant.

A couple of weeks ago, we showed mew the yucca; it was just starting to flower.

Finally, it came out in full bloom; isn't it magnificent? The second spike is a little slow, though we'll keep an eye on it as it slowly emerges.

And if mew remember, we mentioned that the P.A. had snipped the pointy/spiky ends off one side last time; well, on Monday she finally snipped the other side, so it's now totally pointless!!! MOL

Also, the P.A. finally managed to plant over 100 tulip bulbs on Monday; she's still got about 30 more to go, plus 50 alliums, but she decided that she's going to plant the remaining tulips in two big terracotta pots along with some of the alliums for a nice display in the spring.

Anyhoo, here are this week's top headlines.

First up in the news

 Fudge's Looking Supurr Cute

Fudge, a beautiful long-haired ginger tabby cat, sits proudly on a woven rug at BBHQ, looking off to the side in a cosy living room featuring a wood-burning stove, black fireplace, cream armchair, houseplants, and warm home décor. The relaxed pose, fluffy tail, and striking orange coat make for a supurr cute portrait.

Fudge looks adorable here, yep, but in the next few moments he's probably going to go and annoy somepawdy! MOL

Next up in the news

 Tuna Time with Pandora

Pandora, a fluffy tortoiseshell cat, enjoys a dish of tuna on a wooden floor beside a woven rug at BBHQ. Warm sunlight illuminates the cat's richly coloured coat, while a cream bench and cosy home décor create a welcoming indoor setting.

Pandora got the tuna first the other night. Cat Dad always puts two dishes down, yes, spring water tuna only - and it's usually first come, first served.

Normally Pandora is last to the dish, but this time she beat everyone and scoffed it like a proper trooper! MOL

Finally this week

Melvyn's In The Box

Melvyn, a tabby-and-white cat, sits comfortably in a cardboard box on a woven rug beside sunlit patio doors, gazing out towards a garden courtyard with trees, shrubs, and a traditional brick building. Warm afternoon light fills the room, creating a cosy and quintessentially feline scene at BBHQ.

Melvyn was enjoying a new box the other morning while everypawdy else was on pawtrol in the garden. There was catnip, pom poms and lashings of fun; he had a ball!

The little robin is still bipping about.

A colourful European robin with a bright orange-red breast stands among wet pebbles and fallen autumn leaves beside a garden water feature at BBHQ. Surrounded by mossy stones and seasonal foliage, the charming garden bird is beautifully highlighted by soft natural light.

The P.A. was giving all the birdbaths a deep clean the other day, and up popped robin, again! MOL

See those rocks? He landed there and got closer and closer. He's so sweet; we think he's moved in under the carport permanently... The P.A. left him some mealworms the other day as a treat; he loved them!

The BBHQ Midweek News Round-Up **MORE DELIGHTFUL DAHLIAS!** ~ Parsley's Having Snacks, Smooch's Checking On The Catmint, and Melvyn's Top Pose ~ **PLUS** SNOWIE!!! MOL

It's raining!!! Well, showers, intermittently! MOL

We had a nice sunny Caturday, Sunday was sunny but cooler with a breeze. Monday was dull and rainy; yesterday we had sun, clouds, and rain, and today is forecast to be just clouds and sun.

All in all, not bad for the time of year, as the temps are still in the high teens.

No complaints from the B Team! MOL

This Week's Flower Offering

Two magnificent dahlias bloom in a burst of lilac‑pink radiance, their layered petals curling and folding like delicate silk ribbons. Each flower is full and perfectly formed, glowing against a backdrop of deep green foliage that frames their colour like nature’s own spotlight. Soft garden light catches the subtle gradients in the petals, shifting from pale lavender to rich berry tones, giving the blooms a dreamy, almost enchanted presence. Behind them, hints of the garden and a warm brick wall add depth and texture, creating a serene BBHQ moment that celebrates the quiet beauty of autumn flowers at their most vibrant.

This is one of our favourite dahlias at BBHQ; it flowers in mid to late September and is the most gorgeous lilac-pink shade. The petals are like an architectural masterpiece, and then there's this red one.

Two striking red dahlias bloom like perfect pom‑poms in the garden, their tightly layered petals forming glossy, rounded spheres that look almost sculpted. The foremost flower glows with deep crimson intensity, each petal catching tiny droplets of water that sparkle like beads. Just behind it, a second dahlia mirrors the same lush symmetry, accompanied by a small green bud waiting for its moment to unfurl. Rich green leaves cradle the blooms, adding contrast and depth, while the warm brick wall and soft glimpse of a window frame in the background create a homely, sunlit BBHQ garden atmosphere. The whole scene feels vibrant, fresh and full of life - a celebration of autumn colour at its most dramatic.

OMC! Just look at those raindrops on the petals, amazing... mew know this one too; could be one of our most favourite dahlias at BBHQ! MOL

Seriously, though, we adore all the flowers here; everyone is a favourite!

Which one is your favourite this week?

Anyhoo, here are this week's top headlines.

First up in the news

 Parsley's Having Snacks

Parsley, the sleek black housepanther of BBHQ, leans over a white food bowl on a rustic cream‑painted table, enjoying a quiet snack with total focus and contentment. His glossy fur catches the soft indoor light as he crunches away, framed by the gentle clutter of his feeding station - a clear tub brimming with kibble, a black automatic feeder standing ready for future meals, and a matching white water bowl behind him. The distressed wood of the table, complete with a tiny orange clip hanging from the drawer, adds a homely, well‑loved charm to the scene. Warm wooden flooring and a woven rug complete the cosy atmosphere, making this moment feel like a peaceful slice of everyday BBHQ life where Parsley gets to enjoy his favourite nibbles in comfort.

Parsley was enjoying solo snack time in the kitchen... he really enjoyed no-pressure eating, and eating as much as he liked without Fudge trying to get in on the action! MOL

Next up in the news

Smooch's Checking On The Catmint

Smooch, the white tripawed boycat with striking black markings — including his unmistakable heart‑shaped patch - sits proudly on the sun‑warmed mill wheel beside a flourishing clump of catmint. His bright eyes are fixed on the delicate purple flowers as though he’s conducting a very serious horticultural inspection. The soft outdoor light catches the clean white of his fur and the dark patch on his head, giving him a gentle glow against the mix of gravel, greenery and the rustic wooden stake behind him. The catmint sways lightly in the breeze, its tiny blossoms adding a splash of colour that contrasts beautifully with Smooch’s crisp coat. The whole moment feels peaceful and purposeful, capturing Smooch in one of his favourite garden duties - making sure the catmint is growing exactly as it should at BBHQ.

Smooch sat on the mill wheel to inspect the catmint after the P.A. gave it a haircut in the summer after the first flowers faded, and his expert opinion is:

The catmint is ready for taste testing! MOL

Yep, the P.A. will pick individual leaves off and hand-feed him... so fluffing spoilt!

A symmetrical autumn divider featuring pumpkins, acorns, red‑capped mushrooms, berries, and warm red‑orange leaves arranged in a festive arc, creating a vibrant October harvest theme.

Finally this week

Melvyn's Top Pose

Melvyn, the handsome white‑brown-and‑black‑tabby boycat, lounges like a seasoned supurrmodel on a deep charcoal blanket, his body stretched comfortably on its side as he lifts his head to meet the camera with those soft green eyes. The gentle lighting picks up the warm tones in his fur, highlighting the contrast between snowy white and rich chocolate markings. Behind him, a pair of plush cushions - one a calm beige, the other patterned in bold black‑and‑gold geometrics - frame the scene, giving the whole moment a cosy, lived‑in BBHQ vibe. Melvyn’s relaxed posture and slightly tilted expression radiate quiet confidence, as though he knows he’s absolutely nailing his Top Pose for the Midweek News Round‑Up.

So Sunday afternoon... we mentioned on Selfies post that the P.A. was running on fumes; she sat down and ended up asleep with Melvyn snoopervising the nap.

When she eventually woke up... early evening, feeling like she'd slept for three days and had a bad hangover (she didn't! MOL), and Melvyn was right here.

We have one word:

ADORABLE!

Today's Really Random Photo

I bet mew're thinking exactly the same as last week, that I'd got another bunker picture for mew today... Sorry, not this week, but click these links if mew want to see what I've shared of the new extension so far:

Today, my lovely readers, I give mew SNOWIE!

Snowie, the white girlcat with bright amber‑gold eyes, stands poised on the weathered wooden fence as if surveying her entire BBHQ kingdom. Her short fur catches the afternoon light, giving her a soft glow against the vivid blue sky scattered with gentle clouds. Behind her, the red‑tiled roof and brick chimney rise warmly, framed by lush garden greenery that hints at a breezy autumn day. Snowie’s collar tag glints as she balances with effortless confidence, creating a moment that feels both adventurous and elegantly serene - a purrfect snapshot of her bold, curious spirit.

We found this epic photo while looking for something else entirely!

Snowie was gorgeous, and many of our long-time readers remember her so well, but for those of mew who've never seen her before, here she is, and she was the star of Monday's What The Fluff Q&A, so mew can go read more about her if mew'd like.

She was so lovely, she didn't meow or mew; she said "MEH!" in a voice that sounded like she smoked 40 woodbines a day since kittenhood! MOL

Snowie was pure white, with golden citrine eyes, and thick, dense fur like a mini snow leopard. She adored being brushed; her favourite brushing implement was the pet mit.

She only had one rule, and that was the 3 Pat Rule - anymore and mew'd get a swipe! Though, while not a true lapcat, she held the title of Cushion Queen, as she would nest in the nearest cushion behind the P.A. on the sofa and get close that way.

Snowie is still missed every day here at BBHQ, and today we're thrilled to share her with mew.

That's us done for today. Amber will be back on Friday with another fun book review, and if mew missed any other posts, here are the links:
