Episode Two: Squish & Squash ~ The Pom‑Pom Pair of Pandemonium

with

Fudge, Keeper of the Magical Menagerie, Floofy Ginger Overlord of Level 16, and Snack Acquisition Specialist

Greetings, my floofy furiends, it is I, Fudge, returning from Level 16 with another instalment of magical mayhem. Today's featured creatures are small, round, supurr squeaky, and responsible for at least four glitter‑related incidents this week alone. And not to ever be mistaken for a dog toy! MOL

Yes.

It's them.

Squish and Squash.

These rare pom‑pom beings were rescued from The Clockwork Labyrinthan evil dungeon dimension, and a place where time looped. They arrived in a state of trauma, but after my dedicated and extensive rehab programme, they're bouncing, squeaking, and shedding sparkles like sentient confetti.

And now they live here.

With us.

Forever.

Bringing joy and mayhem in equal amounts on a daily basis.

If mew missed my first post.

🌳 Welcome to the Magical Forest on Level 16🌳

A place so enchanting, even reality takes a holiday.

Deep beneath BBHQ, far below the sensible levels where things like "logic" and "filing systems" allegedly exist, lies Level 16, home to our breathtaking, nanobot‑crafted 15‑acre Magical Forest, created specially for the refugees by Deezul the Badger, who tries to keep the nanobots contained. In this instance, he failed.

So, if mew've ever wondered what happens when ancient enchantments, rogue creativity, and a team of over‑enthusiastic nanobots collaborate … this is it.

This isn't just a forest.

A serene, enchanted forest landscape featuring a crystal-clear lake with four moss-covered floating islands. The lake reflects the surrounding vibrant greenery and golden sunlight filtering through towering trees with bioluminescent leaves. A cascading waterfall flows from mist-shrouded cliffs in the background, while rolling meadows dotted with wildflowers and soft magical mist create a dreamy, otherworldly atmosphere. The scene evokes a sense of tranquility, wonder, and surreal beauty. at www.bionicbasil.com

It's a whole world tucked away deep inside the bunker.

Click the link to Episode One above to read more about this magical place, which, in all honesty, is the only place to be right now in this crazy world we live in.

Today's Creature Feature Stars?

Two pom‑pom beings of pure chaos and questionable wisdom.

Two squeaky spheres of delight and unquestionable loyalty.

Two puffballs who should never be left unsupervised with glitter, sentient stationary, emotional energy, or snacks.

Yes, my magical furiends…

Two magical pom-pom creatures—Squish (pink) and Squash (orange)—sit joyfully in an enchanted forest. Surrounded by glowing butterflies, sparkling trails of glitter, and bioluminescent trees, they radiate whimsy and warmth. A waterfall cascades in the background, and soft mist drifts over mossy ground, creating a serene, magical atmosphere.

Introducing:  Squish & Squash ✨

The Pom‑Pom Pair of Pandemonium

Species: Pom‑Pomeranium Elementalis

Age: Unknown

Origin: The Clockwork Labyrinth

Current Status: Bouncing around Level 16 unsupervised (help)

Squish (pink) and Squash (orange) may look like harmless, squeaky pom‑poms, but do not be fooled. These two are:

fully fluent in human English

capable of performing mind melds like a tiny, fluffy Vulcan

able to share thoughts, memories, and even snack cravings telepathically

emotionally contagious (if they giggle, everypawdy giggles)

able to summon glitter storms with a sneeze

and somehow always in the wrong place at the right time

They were rescued from The Clockwork Labyrinth, as were all of the creatures that will be featured in upcoming posts.

Since then, they've become Level 16's unofficial cheer squad, chaos generators, and emotional support pom‑poms. They finish each other's sentences, and have the uncanny ability to appear exactly when mew say the word "snack."

They can also mind‑meld without warning, especially with me. Well, Squish imprinted on me in that terrible place, so that's that! MOL

One moment mew're thinking about lunch, the next Squish is staring into your soul, saying:

"I agree. Cheese is destiny."

And honestly?

She's not wrong, especially if it has catnip in it! MOL

📚 Squish & Squash's Official Duties (According to Squish & Squash)

1. Glitter Field Generation

They produce glitter.

Randomly.

Magically.

Emotionally.

Sometimes telepathically.

They insist it's "ambient joy."

Everypawdy else calls it "a cleanup hazard."

2. Mind‑Meld Monitoring

Squish & Squash perform spontaneous mind melds to "check the vibe."

This is sometimes helpful.

Typical results include:

announcing somepawdy's snack cravings

revealing secrets no one meant to think loudly

diagnosing "low sparkle levels"

declaring a "snack emergency" based on shared intuition

Melvyn has started wearing a tin foil hat. Yep, that's so Melvyn! MOL

3. Emotional Amplification

If one creature chuckles, everypawdy chuckles.

If one creature panics, everypawdy panics.

If one creature wants cheese, suddenly the entire forest wants cheese.

They call this "community bonding."

I, Fudge, call it "a problem."

4. Squeak‑Based Communication

They squeak.

They chirp.

They hum.

They harmonise.

Sometimes this is adorable.

Sometimes it summons butterflies.

On occasion, it opens portals.

We don't talk about that last one.

5. Glitter Storm Forecasting

Squish claims she can "feel the glitter pressure rising."

Squash nods solemnly and says, "Yes. A storm approaches."

They are correct approximately 49% of the time.

The other 51% of the time, they cause the storm.

6. Snack Surveillance

They know when snacks are present.

They know when snacks are nearby. Even hidden, just ask Basil.

They appear instantly.

No one knows how.

7. Cheer Deployment

When morale dips, Squish & Squash activate "Maximum Encouragement Mode."

This includes:

synchronised squeaking

glitter spirals and rainbows

motivational bouncing

unsolicited hugs

chanting "MEW CAN DO IT" telepathically at full volume

Melvyn cries. (Yep ... Melvyn can be rather sensitive!)

Vera Prime writes haikus about it.

Reginald pretends to be annoyed but secretly enjoys the attention.

🧀 Snack Preferences

Squish & Squash are enthusiastic connoisseurs of:

Anything crunchy

(If it makes a crk crk crk noise, they're already eating it.)

Rainbow sherbet drops

They claim these "enhance sparkle output."

No one has verified this, but the glitter storms suggest it's true.

Cheese puffs

Squish calls them "yellow cloud snacks."

Squash calls them "destiny."

Anything labelled "Not For Pom‑Poms"

They insist this is a personal challenge.

Emotional snacks

If somepawdy thinks about food too loudly, they appear.

Teleportation?

Mind‑meld?

Snack‑sense?

No one knows.

They also enjoy sipping sparkle‑berry fizz while offering unsolicited commentary on everypawdy's "snack aura."

🐾 Fudge's Personal Review

Squish & Squash are, without question, two of my favourite magical beings in the entire forest, and that's saying something, considering I live with dragons, sentient glitter, and a wardrobe that hisses at me.

They are pure bliss wrapped in fluff.

Chaos in spherical form.

Their auras glow depending on their happiness level

Emotional support pom‑poms with sometimes questionable decision‑making skills.

I adore them.

Yes, they shed glitter like it's a biological function.

Yes, they mind‑meld without warning and announce my snack cravings to the entire forest.

Yes, they once caused a glitter storm so intense that Basil had to wear goggles in the bunker for three days.

But they are also:

the first to bounce over when I'm feeling low

the loudest cheerers when I accomplish anything (including waking up on my 5th alarm, I hit the snooze button a lot! MOL)

the warmest, squeakiest, most enthusiastic furiends a floofy ginger overlord could ask for

Squish is the pink embodiment of "What if happiness had no brakes?"

Squash is the orange embodiment of "I support this idea even though I don't understand it."

Together, they are unstoppable.

They make Level 16 brighter, louder, sparklier, and infinitely more fun.

And even when they accidentally summon sentient glitter or open a tiny time-loop by sneezing too hard, I wouldn't trade them for all the smoked cheddar in Reginald's stash.

In short?

They are chaos.

They are comfort.

They are furmily.

And I love them with all my floofy ginger heart.

💥8 Quotes from Squish & Squash 🪄

"We don't cause chaos. It just happens." ~ Squish

"If the glitter moves on its own, that means it likes mew." ~ Squash radiating an orange aura

"We sensed a snack. We arrived. Let's eat." ~ Both, in purrfect mind‑meld unison

"Time is bendy. Snacks are constant." ~ Squish

"If mew hear squeaking, that's us. If mew don't hear squeaking… that's also us." ~ Squash

"We don't read minds. Minds read us." ~ Squish, glowing slightly

"Bounce first. Ask questions never." ~ Squash

"Glitter is not a mess. Glitter is a lifestyle. Glitter is a choice" ~ Both, while shedding sparkles everywhere

And finally

"Commander Basil is the Greatest!!!"

In a futuristic control room filled with glowing screens and digital interfaces, Basil—a tabby brown and white cat wearing a red collar—sits at a command desk.On the desk are Squish and Squash, two fluffy pom-pom creatures, pink and orange respectively, with large expressive eyes and joyful smiles. Rainbow trails and glitter swirl around them, adding a magical touch to the high-tech setting, creating a whimsical blend of fantasy and sci-fi.

Basil sometimes gets a little fraught when they set off the alarms! MOL #OHDEAR

🔮 Coming Next Time…

Mew've met Reginald.

Mew've survived Squish & Squash (and the glitter uprising).

But now … something new is shimmering on the horizon.

A tiny purply‑pink and turquoise creature has been spotted flitting around the Magical Forest, humming softly and leaving faint trails of sparkles that smell faintly of stardust, frangipani, and optimism.

Allow me to introduce …

✨ Glimmer ~ the Whimsikin

Small.

Soft.

Suspiciously sparkly and decadently pawesome.

And capable of vanishing mid‑sentence when emotionally overwhelmed.

Glimmer is gentle, curious, and possibly the most soothing creature ever to float into BBHQ, which is saying something, considering the competition includes lavender fog, enchanted scrolls, and Melvyn's emergency biscuits.

What adventures await?

What secrets does a Whimsikin hold?

And will Basil tolerate yet another magical creature hovering near the Control Room consoles?

Find out in Episode Three… coming soon!

Until then, my magical furiends…

Stay curious.

Stay chaotic.

And remember:

If your glitter twinkles, Squish & Squash are nearby.

If your scroll hums, Reginald's your dragon.

And if mew feel a tiny warm glow in your heart for no reason at all…

Glimmer has already found mew.

Until next time…

Snack responsibly, sparkle kindly, and never trust glitter without a teaspoon.

Episode One: Reginald the Archive Dragon

with

Fudge, Keeper of the Magical Menagerie, Floofy Ginger Overlord of Level 16, and Snack Acquisition Specialist

Greetings, my furbulously floofy friends!

It is I, Fudge, your resident ginger icon, reporting live from the Magical Forest on Level 16, a place filled with wonder, enchantment, and creatures who absolutely do not respect purrsonal boundaries or snack storage protocols.

As the appointed Keeper of the Magical Menagerie since 2018, when all the magical creatures were brought back from The Clockwork Labyrinth as dimensionally displaced refugees, I’ve decided it’s high time I introduced mew to the extraordinary beings who now call BBHQ home.

Each post, I’ll be sharing one creature from my magical entourage, along with insider gossip, snack preferences, and any incidents involving unexplained bunker happenings, scrolls, fog cannons, or emotional meltdowns, etc, and I'll let mew in on a little secret: I will be adding these notes to my upcoming books that I'm writing, called;

The BBHQ Creature Compendium ~ How To Survive Level 16 and Still Come Out Floofy

plus

Creature Herding for Newbies

And for those of mew who haven't read the original adventure linked above, or are a little bit lost, let me tell mew about the forest.

A symmetrical arrangement of 14 whimsical, cartoon-style fantasy creatures surrounds a central pink ball with a face. 🌳 Welcome to the Magical Forest on Level 16🌳

A place so enchanting, even reality takes a holiday.

Deep beneath BBHQ, far below the sensible levels where things like “logic” and “filing systems” allegedly exist, lies Level 16, home to our breathtaking, nanobot‑crafted 15‑acre Magical Forest, created specially for the refugees by Deezul the Badger, who tries to keep the nanobots contained. In this instance, he failed.

So, if mew’ve ever wondered what happens when ancient enchantments, rogue creativity, and a team of over‑enthusiastic nanobots collaborate… this is it.

This isn’t just a forest.

It’s a whole world tucked away deep inside the bunker.

The moment mew step through the shimmering threshold, the air shifts; warmer, softer, tinged with wildflowers and something sweetly indefinable. The trees tower above, their leaves glowing with bioluminescent veins that pulse like gentle heartbeats. Some trees hum. Some whisper. Some giggle if mew tickle their bark. Every tree has a purrsonality, and none of them believe in “quiet.”

The canopy above adjusts to your mood, bright and sunlit when mew’re joyful, dusky and star‑speckled when mew’re contemplative. It’s a forest that listens, responds, and occasionally offers unsolicited advice.

Scattered throughout are several crystal‑clear lakes, each one reflecting a different sky. Some show the real world. Others display constellations from forgotten realms. A few reveal your future snack choices. Tiny islands drift lazily across the water; floating moss beds purrfect for naps, miniature forests, glowing mushrooms, and the occasional creature who prefers solitude and snack deliveries by boat.

Waterfalls cascade from colour-changing 'mood cliffs', tumbling into pools that glow from within. One waterfall occasionally turns into rainbow mist if mew compliment it. Behind the largest falls lies a cavern filled with crystals that hum harmonies when mew enter via the secret path.

I discovered it first and declared it is my “Thinking Spot,” though I mostly nap there, but don't tell anypawdy! MOL

Between the trees lie pockets of rolling meadows, each one a different shade of dreamscape. One meadow is filled with knee‑high flowers that change colour when mew purr. Another has grass so soft it feels like walking on clouds. A third is home to butterflies made of light who follow mew around like tiny floating fans.

The entire forest is alive, not in a spooky way, but in a deeply comforting, “mew belong here” way. Magic drifts through the air like pollen. The light is always purrfect. The temperature is always “just right.” Time moves differently, slower, kinder, as if the forest wants mew to stay just a little longer.

It’s the kind of place where worries dissolve, naps hit different, snacks taste better, and every creature, from pom‑pom fluffballs to crystalline dragons, feels at home.

It’s a sanctuary.

A playground.

A refuge.

A dream made real.

And once mew’ve breathed in that enchanted air, the rest of the world feels just a little too ordinary.

Today’s Creature Feature Star?

A dragon.

A miniature dragon.

A miniature dragon with a clipboard.

Brace yourselves.

A small, blue-scaled dragon named Reginald stands in a cozy library, wearing a red cloak fastened with a button and holding a clipboard. His large green eyes and prominent blue spikes give him a whimsical yet scholarly appearance. Surrounded by stacks of books, scrolls, scattered papers, and a glowing candle on a wooden table, Reginald appears deep in magical or administrative work. The warm, dimly lit setting emphasizes his role as a fantastical archivist. at www.bionicbasil.com

🐉 Introducing… Reginald

Species: Crystalline Archive Dragon

Age: Unknown (he refuses to disclose and says it’s “totally irrelevant to his professional image”)

Current Posting: Level 6 Library Archive

Special Skills: Fog cannon operation, scroll whispering, emotional triage, dramatic entrances

Reginald originally hatched in the Magical Forest, but one afternoon, after I told him about Melvyn having a near nervous breakdown over a thesaurus that called him “mediocre,” he decided the Library Archive was where he was needed.

He stomped up to Level 6 wearing a purple cape he made from a curtain and tieback tassel, carrying a clipboard he stole from Parsley, and announced:

Never fear, Reggie is here!

Melvyn fainted.

Vera Prime applauded.

The prophecy scrolls hummed in approval.

It was a whole thing.

If mew missed Melvyn's Mewsings and Reginald's antics, click here to go to Episode One

📚 Reginald’s Official Duties (According to Reginald)

1. Fog Cannon Calibration

He installed two fog cannons in the archive.

No one asked for them.

No one approved them.

He insists they are “essential for dramatic effect” during filing emergencies.

2. Scroll Emotional Assessment

Reginald claims he can “taste narrative tension.”

He licks scrolls.

We’ve stopped trying to stop him.

3. Cupboard 7B Mediation

Cupboard 7B is temperamental.

Reginald is the only one who can coax it open without it hissing or quoting ancient curses.

4. Motivational Fog Deployment

When Melvyn spirals (which is hourly), Reginald releases a gentle lavender fog and says things like:

“Inhale confidence. Exhale chaos. Repeat until scrolls stop whispering.”

“Breathe in the lavender. Breathe out the existential dread.”

“Fog is clarity in disguise. Let it settle. Then file your feelings alphabetically.”

“Breathe. Sip nip tea. Ignore Vera’s haiku about your emotional fragility.”
“Let the fog soothe mew. Let the scrolls sort themselves. Let Melvyn cry in lowercase.”

5. Filing Rituals

He performs interpretive dances to “align the archive’s emotional frequencies.”

The mice join in.

Melvyn cries.

Vera Prime (formerly V1.0) writes haikus about it.

6. On-site Data Destroyer

He incinerates sensitive papers, old hard drives, etc., that are no longer needed at BBHQ. Using concentrated controlled bursts of flame, of course, and only in BD1, aka Bomb Disposal Room 1. The first time, he got a bit effervescent, and fire extinguishers were deployed; now, he's more careful! MOL

🧀 Snack Preferences

Reginald is a connoisseur of:

Smoked cheddar

Aged Gouda

Anything labelled “Do Not Eat – For Experimental Purrposes Only”

Scroll crumbs

Melvyn’s emergency biscuits (he denies this, but the crumbs in his spikes tell another story)

He also enjoys sipping brimstone and lava tea while judging Melvyn’s posture.

🐾 Fudge’s Personal Review

Reginald is a delight.

A menace, yes.

But a delight.

He’s efficient, sparkly, and has the emotional intelligence of a seasoned therapist with a fog machine. He once stared down a cursed thesaurus until it apologised. He reorganised the prophecy scrolls by “vibe.” He told Vera Prime that her haikus lacked depth, and she has been trying to impress him ever since.

He is, in short, exactly the kind of chaos BBHQ loves.

Although Basil sometimes complains when he discovers that his office has been used as an impromptu pawty room on occasion, though he never mentions it... Mew only know because he'll stomp into the Control Room clutching rainbow streamers, and say, "Not again!"

16 Quotes From Reginald

“I don’t do chaos. I do structured whimsy.”

“Scrolls are like emotions ... best filed before they explode.”

“If it doesn’t sparkle, is it even a solution?”

“I’m not dramatic. I’m atmospherically enhanced.”

“Fog is not a distraction. It’s a lifestyle choice.”

“I lick scrolls for nuance. Don’t judge me.”

“Melvyn spirals. I choreograph.”

“My clipboard is enchanted. It knows when mew're lying.”

“I once reorganised a prophecy by mood. It wept with gratitude.”

“I don’t burn documents. I liberate them from relevance.”

“Cupboard 7B respects me. Mostly because I bribed it with lavender mist.”

“I am not a miniature dragon. I am a compact archivist with flair.”

“Vera Prime writes haikus. I edit them for emotional clarity.”

“The glitter calculator fears me. As it should.”

“I am the fog. I am the flair. I am the filing system.

"When chaos erupts, join in, it's the only thing to do!"

A small blue dragon-like creature with large green eyes stands in a whimsical library filled with scrolls, books, and magical fog-emitting devices labeled “FOG FORT” and “FOG CANNON.” Wearing a maroon cape and holding a clipboard, the creature appears to be deep in thought or mid-research. Sparkles and floating particles enhance the enchanted atmosphere, while a box labeled “SCROLL FORT” overflows with parchment. The scene blends fantasy and academia in a playful, imaginative setting. at www.bionicbasil.com

🔍 Field Notes from Level 6

A few highlights from Reginald’s first week:

He declared Melvyn “emotionally dehydrated” and made him drink three cups of catnip tea.

He convinced the glitter calculator (P.U.M.A.) to stop unionising by offering it a fog bath.

He taught the library mice a filing chant. They now sing it at dawn.

He built a “Fog Fort” out of scrolls. It is structurally questionable but aesthetically pleasing.

He told the Wedge of Wonder that its aura was “a bit clingy today.” The Wedge hummed in embarrassment.

🔮 Coming Next Time…

Prepare yourselves for Squish & Squash, the pom‑pom duo of pure joy and questionable decision-making. There are only two of them, pink and orange, and they have recently discovered glitter. I'm afraid, not of Squish and Squash, but the glitter, it is now sentient, so I keep a teaspoon on me at all times, well, it worked for Parsley! MOL

Stay chaotic.

If your scroll hums, Reginald’s your dragon, and if mew'd like to read more about his adventure in the archive, click here to go to episode one.

Until next time... Snack responsibly, scroll wisely, and never trust glitter and most impawtantly...
