What a truly pawesome stone circle! It was much bigger than it looks here! MOL

Here's a little bit of info from BBHQ's Historical Travel Guide, Smooch:

Greetings to all the history aficionados and travel enthusiasts out there!

This week we visited the Sunkenkirk Circle, a Neolithic/Bronze Age stone circle situated north of Hallthwaites, Cumbria. This ancient site is believed to have been constructed around 2000-1500 BC, (although there is conflicting data on the time range), and it is an epically epic place to visit for anypawdy interested in the history of prehistoric Britain. The Sunkenkirk Circle is a large stone circle with a diameter of approximately 28-ish metres. It is made up of 55 stones, with the largest being over 2 metres high. Obviously, we had to scale the circle down in our selfie as mew wouldn't have seen us! MOL There are only around 30 of the original stones still standing.

It is speculated that the stones were quarried from nearby outcrops and transported to the site using primitive methods such as ropes, sledges, and rollers. It is not entirely clear what the circle was used for, but archaeologists believe that it may have had religious or ceremonial significance for the people of the time, the same as most of the stone circles of this era. As we walked around the site, mew can sense the immense effort that must have gone into its construction. The stones are placed in a precise circle, and some have markings that are believed to have had astronomical significance. The site is also surrounded by a ditch that is believed to have been dug to mark the boundary of the circle. Visiting Sunkenkirk Circle is a truly paw-inspiring experience that offers a glimpse into the mysteries of Britain's ancient past. If mew ever plan a trip to Cumbria, be sure to add this fascinating site to your itinerary.

We're off to snoopervise the removal of potted fruit trees from the veggie garden. Finally, in the next couple of weeks, the gravel will arrive, so we can finally finish the space and get it all set up for the growing season. Yes, we will share photos when we're done.

The P.A. also went to a local nursery the other day and bought some new herbs. They also had some lovely veggie plants, so we're quite excited to get everything sorted.

Smooch is just gearing up with his chef's apron ready for the big Sunday lunch cooking session, as mew know how he likes to be in charge of everything! MOL

We'll be back tomorrow with another Brain Training post, or it might be a Colouring with Cats; at this point, we haven't made up our minds!

We do hope mew have an epic day and remember to...
