What's the Mewton-Clawson weather been like this week? Well, it's been a mixed bag of MEH! Cooler, rain, wind, with the occasional sunny spell with more heat than a solar flare thrown in to keep things interesting.
Oh, and do mew remember that the P.A. purchased some new plants the other week? They were from an online garden place and, by all indications, had really great reviews and quality plants.
Well, things really went to fluff last week, as they were supposed to have been delivered on Tuesday, so the P.A. stayed in waiting for the delivery, and she was watching the camera to make sure she didn't miss it. Anyhoo, halfway through the allotted two-hour delivery time, a text pings up on the phone to say. 'WE'RE SORRY WE MISSED YOU, PLEASE RESCHEDULE.'
WHAT THE FLUFF!!!!
The doorbell never rang, nopawdy even stepped foot on the drive. Odd, yes? The P.A. contacted the delivery company via their online chat and was told that no one was in to accept the delivery.
This gets better.
The P.A. then responds with; I was here. They weren't. I have video footage of the time they said they'd attempted the delivery, and unless they were using a Klingon invisibility cloaking device, no one attempted anything.
The chat went suspiciously silent, and she waited and waited until the chat expired, and she had to start all over again.
The same thing happened again, and when the delivery company realised they'd been caught out, they came back with; the property was not accessible due to a road closure.
The Main Street was closed. However, the diversion from the point of closure back onto Main Street was less than a minute, but the driver refused to go on a tiny detour.
Anyhoo, after waiting for three days and each time nothing arrived, multiple rescheduling calls and emails, the plants turned up on Friday. Well, four out of five boxes did; the fifth box still has not appeared at the time of writing this on Tuesday afternoon - it's still M.I.A.
The plants which did arrive on Friday, arrived in a half-dead state, and the company had this to say after the P.A. sent them photos: I'm sure they will perk up and thrive for you and added that they looked healthy.
Let us show mew one of the photos:
And there's a load more in similar condition.
So here we are, waiting for a resolution on the plants, as the company doesn't care that part of the shipment is still missing, and 70% delivered are only fit for the compost heap. Never again will the P.A. buy plants online from that company.
The moral of the story is don't buy plants online; it only leads to disappointment.
On a much happier note:
Guess what we saw the other night?
A baby hedgehog, and he's tiny, so we're going to make sure that he has every chance of getting to the desired weight before hibernation sets in. He must be from a second litter; this has occurred before, so as we said, we'll endeavour to give him the best chance of survival possible. We've named him Chomps because he makes so much noise when he's eating. It's adorable! MOL
Anyhoo, let's look at this week's top headlines.

Fudge's Response To Melvyn Asking For a Pay Rise
Fudge knows exactly what Amber is like with the library coffers. He knows that Melvyn has more chance of being on the cover of Mogue than Amber ever giving him any cold, hard cash!
OH DEAR!
But Fudge did say this to Melvyn. "Dude, Parsley's now the library manager. Go ask him."
