Furbulous Greetings Supurr Furiends
Welcome to the BBHQ midweek news round-up!
What's the Mewton-Clawson weather been like this week? Well, it's been a mixed bag of MEH! Cooler, rain, wind, with the occasional sunny spell with more heat than a solar flare thrown in to keep things interesting.
Oh, and do mew remember that the P.A. purchased some new plants the other week? They were from an online garden place and, by all indications, had really great reviews and quality plants.
Well, things really went to fluff last week, as they were supposed to have been delivered on Tuesday, so the P.A. stayed in waiting for the delivery, and she was watching the camera to make sure she didn't miss it. Anyhoo, halfway through the allotted two-hour delivery time, a text pings up on the phone to say. 'WE'RE SORRY WE MISSED YOU, PLEASE RESCHEDULE.'
WHAT THE FLUFF!!!!
The doorbell never rang, nopawdy even stepped foot on the drive. Odd, yes? The P.A. contacted the delivery company via their online chat and was told that no one was in to accept the delivery.
This gets better.
The P.A. then responds with; I was here. They weren't. I have video footage of the time they said they'd attempted the delivery, and unless they were using a Klingon invisibility cloaking device, no one attempted anything.
The chat went suspiciously silent, and she waited and waited until the chat expired, and she had to start all over again.
The same thing happened again, and when the delivery company realised they'd been caught out, they came back with; the property was not accessible due to a road closure.
The Main Street was closed. However, the diversion from the point of closure back onto Main Street was less than a minute, but the driver refused to go on a tiny detour.
Anyhoo, after waiting for three days and each time nothing arrived, multiple rescheduling calls and emails, the plants turned up on Friday. Well, four out of five boxes did; the fifth box still has not appeared at the time of writing this on Tuesday afternoon - it's still M.I.A.
The plants which did arrive on Friday, arrived in a half-dead state, and the company had this to say after the P.A. sent them photos: I'm sure they will perk up and thrive for you and added that they looked healthy.
Let us show mew one of the photos:
Do these look healthy to mew? Wow, if that's what they think healthy plants are, there's no fluffing hope.
Sadly, the chrysanthemums above didn't survive the weekend and are now in Flower Heaven.
And there's a load more in similar condition.
So here we are, waiting for a resolution on the plants, as the company doesn't care that part of the shipment is still missing, and 70% delivered are only fit for the compost heap. Never again will the P.A. buy plants online from that company.
The moral of the story is don't buy plants online; it only leads to disappointment.
On a much happier note:
Guess what we saw the other night?
A baby hedgehog, and he's tiny, so we're going to make sure that he has every chance of getting to the desired weight before hibernation sets in. He must be from a second litter; this has occurred before, so as we said, we'll endeavour to give him the best chance of survival possible. We've named him Chomps because he makes so much noise when he's eating. It's adorable! MOL
Just so mew know how small he is, the bowl diameter is 5 inches or 12.5 cm. What a cutie! ❤️
Anyhoo, let's look at this week's top headlines.
First up in the news this week
Melvyn Asks Amber For A Pay Rise
Poor Melvyn finally got up the courage to ask Amber for a pay rise. He's been interning at the Mewton-Clawson Library for about three years, and Amber hasn't really been a very good boss because she's spent any money she's managed to get her mittens on on books and not on the hired help.
And by the look on her face, Melvyn is going to be disappointed again!
Meanwhile, on the other side of the sofa
Fudge's Response To Melvyn Asking For a Pay Rise
Fudge knows exactly what Amber is like with the library coffers. He knows that Melvyn has more chance of being on the cover of Mogue than Amber ever giving him any cold, hard cash!
OH DEAR!
But Fudge did say this to Melvyn. "Dude, Parsley's now the library manager. Go ask him."
Next up in the news
Melvyn Asking Parsley For A Pay Rise
Oh, Amber is so sly! MOL
Finally this week
Melvyn's Modelling The Top Bandana Pick
This week, mew voted for Melvyn to wear The Owl Be Seeing Mew Bandana!
It was all fun and fluff on the catwalk at BBHQ this week. Fudge, who'd just washed Melvyn's ears, decided that he needed to snoopervise this week's catwalk.
He did cuff Melvyn around the ears at one point and made sure that he was always in the wrong place at the wrong time! MOL
Luckily, Melvyn, the ever-professional model, took it all in his stride!
Check out Melvyn's videos on your preferred social media channel:
Which one is your favourite this week?
Which one should he model next?
Here's the brand new bandana collection for September, hot off the ironing board in the BBHQ craft room.
The options are:
1. Owl Be Seeing Mew!
2. Catitude Graffiti
3. Panda-monium
4. Ballooning with Furiends
Only two left. Tell us your top pick for next week in the comments!
And guess what we got?
NEW FABRIC ALERT
This is why Melvyn wanted a pay rise. He took out a small loan from Pandora to purrchase some new fabrics for his bandana modelling, as he said, and I quote, "Mew have to be unique, it's no good wearing what everypawdy else wears!"
So, for October, there will definitely be the 3D spider and bat fabrics used, and we'll see what other Halloween styles we have in stock, as there are lots.
What a cute fabric haul.
Well done, Melvyn, mew've got great taste!
That's us done for today. We'll be back again on Friday, so join us then for more Fluffers and to see who's starring this week!
