What's the Mewton-Clawson weather been like this week? Well, it's been a mixed bag of MEH! Cooler, rain, wind, with the occasional sunny spell with more heat than a solar flare thrown in to keep things interesting.
Oh, and do mew remember that the P.A. purchased some new plants the other week? They were from an online garden place and, by all indications, had really great reviews and quality plants.
Well, things really went to fluff last week, as they were supposed to have been delivered on Tuesday, so the P.A. stayed in waiting for the delivery, and she was watching the camera to make sure she didn't miss it. Anyhoo, halfway through the allotted two-hour delivery time, a text pings up on the phone to say. 'WE'RE SORRY WE MISSED YOU, PLEASE RESCHEDULE.'
WHAT THE FLUFF!!!!
The doorbell never rang, nopawdy even stepped foot on the drive. Odd, yes? The P.A. contacted the delivery company via their online chat and was told that no one was in to accept the delivery.
This gets better.
The P.A. then responds with; I was here. They weren't. I have video footage of the time they said they'd attempted the delivery, and unless they were using a Klingon invisibility cloaking device, no one attempted anything.
The chat went suspiciously silent, and she waited and waited until the chat expired, and she had to start all over again.
The same thing happened again, and when the delivery company realised they'd been caught out, they came back with; the property was not accessible due to a road closure.
The Main Street was closed. However, the diversion from the point of closure back onto Main Street was less than a minute, but the driver refused to go on a tiny detour.
Anyhoo, after waiting for three days and each time nothing arrived, multiple rescheduling calls and emails, the plants turned up on Friday. Well, four out of five boxes did; the fifth box still has not appeared at the time of writing this on Tuesday afternoon - it's still M.I.A.
The plants which did arrive on Friday, arrived in a half-dead state, and the company had this to say after the P.A. sent them photos: I'm sure they will perk up and thrive for you and added that they looked healthy.
Let us show mew one of the photos:
And there's a load more in similar condition.
So here we are, waiting for a resolution on the plants, as the company doesn't care that part of the shipment is still missing, and 70% delivered are only fit for the compost heap. Never again will the P.A. buy plants online from that company.
The moral of the story is don't buy plants online; it only leads to disappointment.
On a much happier note:
Guess what we saw the other night?
A baby hedgehog, and he's tiny, so we're going to make sure that he has every chance of getting to the desired weight before hibernation sets in. He must be from a second litter; this has occurred before, so as we said, we'll endeavour to give him the best chance of survival possible. We've named him Chomps because he makes so much noise when he's eating. It's adorable! MOL
Anyhoo, let's look at this week's top headlines.
First up in the news this week
Melvyn Asks Amber For A Pay Rise
Fudge's Response To Melvyn Asking For a Pay Rise
Fudge knows exactly what Amber is like with the library coffers. He knows that Melvyn has more chance of being on the cover of Mogue than Amber ever giving him any cold, hard cash!
OH DEAR!
But Fudge did say this to Melvyn. "Dude, Parsley's now the library manager. Go ask him."
Next up in the news
Melvyn Asking Parsley For A Pay Rise
Finally this week
Oh I don't like it when companys stretch the truth like that! That was sure a funny conversation about the pay raises too!!! Thanks for joining Angel Brian's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I'd be so MAD!
ReplyDeleteAww, c'mon, Amber...cough up some dinero for the boy.
My vote is for balloons.
I am so sorry that you got ripped off.
ReplyDeleteThe online nursery company sounds awful, and the delivery company as well. It's sad what some try to get away with.
ReplyDeleteI do hope Melvyn gets his pay rise, he's a good model and deserves to be able to keep up his career.
That online plant company deserves to go out of business! I hope they do the right thing and reimburse you. I have only twice had a problem and both times it was caused by Royal Mail delivery.. The first time I ordered tomato plug plants and they took about 2 weeks to arrive from dispatch and were of course dried out and dead. I contacted T&M and they immediately replaced them. The second time was during the pandemic and I ordered begonias. The box clearly stated keep upright and fragile, but I think they must have played football with it. My money was refunded with no quibble. Now things are back to as normal as they will ever be, I have gone back to buying in person.
ReplyDeleteI hope Melvyn gets his pay rise. He deserves it.
Melvyn, we wanna see #4, hot air ballons with cats! A pay raise, what's that? More treats? I'll take it. And Lynn is sad to see the plants are sad. Precious
ReplyDeleteNumber 4 is my pick for next week.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get your money back. Shame on them.
I think you need a pay raise too.
Have a purrfect day and rest of the week. Scritches to all the kitties and a big hug to your wonderful mom. ♥

ReplyDeleteWow, quite an experience with the plant company! The hedgehog sounds marvelous! Sounds like Amber is really putting her paw down about any pay rises! Enjoyed Melvyn's modeling session, and I like the pandas for next week! Those October fabrics look enticing!
ReplyDeleteThat is awful about the plants. I hope they will give you a refund if you keep after them. Sorry Melvyn, all funds are needed to purchase books. Maybe sell some bandanas. :) XO
ReplyDeleteChomps is really cute. Those plants -- and that awful good-for-nothing company -- are most certainly NOT. Amber sounds like a tough boss; we hope Melvyn can at least get a cost of living raise. We're liking the pandas for next week! XO
ReplyDeleteWe loved your videos! Watched all three of them! MOL!
ReplyDeleteWe like the Hot Air Balloons...we actually saw a couple of real ones on Wednesday!
Chomps is a cutie...petcretary eats chomps sometimes, its a brand of jerky sticks here, LOL!!! (Beef, turkey or venison)
What a shame about your plants. Sorry that happened.
I recently ordered a specific kind of uniform pants, and the company I ordered them from sent me the wrong ones. They said to keep them and they would send the correct ones...nope, they never came...but at least they refunded me my payment, because I had complained to Amazon as well as them.
Sorry that I've been AWOL...
