Wunderpurr greetings fabulous furiends

Today we're sharing one of our *sponsored posts with mew from the fabulous peeps at...

... who emailed us a few weeks ago and asked if we'd like to try their brand new waterless pet shampoo, not just for cats, but K9's, bunnies and even horses can use it too. So we said we'd love to try a sample here at BionicBasil HQ.

So let's show mew what was in the box.

We were sent 2 bottles, the larger one is the original waterless shampoo and the smaller bottle has a blend of essential oils that are believed to repel fleas and ticks.

About Nilaqua:

Now we know that all mew kitties and peeps are thinking; we cats lick our fur so what's in the bottle and is it safe, as we asked that question right from the get-go.

And we were assured that, yes it is completely safe for cats; as mew know we wouldn't try anything if it wasn't.

Here's what else they have to say:

 First of its kind
The first deep cleansing waterless shampoo that also deters unwanted critters.

Using natural oils
Your pets health is our top priority. That's why we don't use any strong chemicals. Just natural, essential oils.

The Big Test:

Now as mew know, we're not the kind of kitties who get bathed, as in actually bathed in the bath, a sink or similar. None of us has ever had that experience, the most we've effur had is being gently washed with a warm, damp flannel should we come home aftur a rather durty excursion. So this was a whole new experience for The B Team... watch the video to see who got partly washed and how it went down... FYI we tested the original formula...

As mew saw, young Fudge really didn't want his ablutions videoed - oops!  So we had to wait for Dad to come home to offur assistance in Round Two and where we showed mew a quick spot clean on the back of his neck. And yes his eyes were like dinner plates, but we think he did tremendously well and he did get extra treats for his purrticipation. The P.A. says his fur where she did clean it smells heavenly and felt so soft once it was completely dry.

Our closing thoughts

While Fudge didn't make the best shampoo model today, we still think this product is really great.  The P.A. said she wished there was something like this available when she had her horses and dogs years ago. One of her ponies was called Charlie, he was pure white and he loved rolling in the filthiest, muddiest place in the field and he'd always do it the day before a show or event - it was like he knew that they were off to compete.

So having something like this as an emergency clean-up without having to resort to an allover wash would have been brilliant, especially in the colder months.

Also the P.A.'s last dog, the cutest little Jack Russell you effur saw: Miss Daisy Mai [OTRB Sept 2010] had a dreadful habit of rolling in rather 'yucky stuff' when out on walks and she hated to be bathed in the sink, so this again would have been excellent to clean her up aftur one of her little misadventures.

Now, these products aren't 100% natural or organic, which may put some pet owners off, but we think fur a quick clean up or a clean-up on the go for K9 owners especially, that this is a really fab product and would make an excellent addition to your pet necessities in your supply cupboard.

And let's not furget that as it's waterless, so it kinder for the planet too and we really like that a lot!

We would like to say a special thanks to the pawesome peeps at Waterless/Nilaqua fur giving us the oppurrtunity to try out their innovative waterless pet shampoo~ THANK MEW FURRY MUCH!

  2. I get show baths about twice a month (whether I'm doing shows or not - to keep both my human and me in practice), but these sound good for in between, when I'm doing hospital visits, and I'm not 100% fresh - better than wipes.

  8. What a star Fudge could be, just has to settle his nerves before hand.... maybe a nip spritzer would do, I know it would me! I have to say that this product sounds awesome, and we are impressed at the ingredients too. Sounds like a winner!

  9. That does sound like a good product. It would have been ideal for Eric. He had a thing about pheasant poop, and even though he loved water he didn't appreciate getting his head and neck washed in the horse trough when he rubbed his face in it in the fields.
