Furbulous Sunday greetings furiends
Welcome to another BBHQ selfie selection, and this week our adventures took us north to Hadrian's Wall.
The B Team's Hadrian's Wall Selfie
Luckily we got a nice sunny day, as it's been raining a lot this week at BBHQ. We had a supurr picnic, took a few snaps of this marvellous historical site and genreally had a totally pawesome time.
Here's a little bit of info from BBHQ's Expert Travel Guide, Smooch:
Hello epic travellers!
As we strolled along the olden path of Hadrian's Wall, we were completely amazed by the history that was all around us. This impressive structure was built by the Romans over 1900 years ago, and it stretches for miles across the breathtaking landscape of northern England. It's truly a testament to the incredible engineering skills of the ancient world.
When mew visit Hadrian's Wall, one of the most striking things is its enormous size. The wall stands at over 6 feet tall in some places, made up of thousands of individual stones carefully put in place by Roman engineers.
What's really cool is that much of the wall is still standing, and mew can explore sections of it on paw. As mew take in the stunning views of the rolling hills and countryside stretching out for miles, it's easy to feel like mew're stepping back in time.
For all the history buffs out there, there are plenty of museums and visitor centres along the wall that offer a fascinating glimpse into the lives of the Roman soldiers who guarded this frontier, as well as the local tribes who lived in the area at the time.
The wall spans 73 miles across multiple sites across Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear and Northern England and mew can visit over twenty sites including Chesters Roman Fort, Housteads Roman Fort, Birdoswald Roman Fort and Corbridge Roman Town.
Overall, visiting Hadrian's Wall is an unforgettable experience that gives mew a peek into a remarkable era of history. It's a must-see destination for anypawdy with even a passing interest in the ancient world!

ReplyDeleteMom would love to have seen Hadrians Wall while she spent so much time in Europe. There is an amphitheater in Germany that she was amazed to see...not knowing the Romans conquered there as well! Seeing the Apian Way was enough to awe her into total silence as she stood and contemplated it.
