Furbulous Greetings Supurr Furiends

Welcome to the BBHQ midweek news round-up!

Great news, we're actually on time this week, unlike last week's supurr epic fail! MOL

As it's been raining pretty nop-stop for the last week at BBHQ, we haven't got any new flower photos to share with mew from our garden.

Though we do have this!

The BBHQ Midweek News Round-Up ©BionicBasil® Giant Valerian Plant

The P.A. grows Valerian, and last year she took a small plant to nanny and grampaws house and planted it in one of the raised beds.

Now, our plants don't get much over a metre or yard tall, so we couldn't believe that this one grew 2.5m or over 8 feet tall. It is huge, and the scent from the lace-like white flowers was so intense that mew could smell it all around the garden.

The P.A. should have taken a picture earlier in the month when the blooms were more apparent, as it's now nearly finished flowering.

The white flowers look similar to cow parsley, not to be confused with giant hogweed, which is an immensely dangerous plant. Valerian is a prolific self-setter, and if mew looking for a highly fragrant, early summer blooming flower which is nicely architectural, this is one to add, although do dead head before it goes to seed otherwise mew'll have baby valerians popping up everywhere.

Anyhoo, let's look at this week's top headlines.

First up in the news this week

Amber Taking Time Out From Choosing New Books For The Library

The BBHQ Midweek News Round-Up ©BionicBasil® Amber Taking Time Out From Choosing New Books For The Library

Amber has been enjoying her summer break. She's surfed Amazon and Audible looking for new books to review, and just before she posed for this photo she finished a new cozy mystery which will be the first pick for the new review season later in the year.

She sends oodles of literary purrs to all her fans and says she misses mew all terribly on Fridays, that's why she's here today! MOL

Fudge Laughing About What Happened To Melvyn on The Catwalk

To get the full context of this photo mew need to watch one the of modelling videos below.

Mew see, we think Fudge is a little jealous of Melvyn's modelling career (well, it's not a modelling career per se, just a hobby which Melvyn enjoys), anyhoo watch the video.

Finally this week

Melvyn's Modelling The Top Bandana Pick

Guys, the Luscious Leopards won by a gnats whisker last week, so here's Melvyn looking epically epic in magenta and teal today!

And mew may notice that every time he walks into the sitting room, he pauses to see if anypawdy is waiting to ambush him from behind the sofa! MOL

Well, mew'll never believe it, but this week he did get ambushed in a sneak attack on the BBHQ Catwalk, and said sneak attack came from behind the sofa.

Poor Melvyn, it really fluffed his modelling vibe right up!

Check out Melvyn strutting his funky stuff on the BBHQ catwalk at:

And she needs her fur brushing! MOL

Finally, after many years of purrseverance, Pandora now actually likes being brushed and having a grooming session 3 to 4 times a week. And even though she gets more brush now, during the summer she still gets mats in her fur, but she's also supurr good about letting the P.A. snip them out. They are usually caused by seeds or something else in the garden!

Anyhoo, she's so good now compared to when she first arrived and mew could barely pick her up, let alone get a brush in the same room as her.

  8. Melvyn, I truly beg your pardon but I had to see that several times..and...well...I laughed. I am sorry. I know! Fudge told me to do it. By the way, if Mom can find Valerian seed she WILL grow some. But really does it look as fearsome as the Hogweed? I am not joking when I say if someone thought so, they might sneak in and bash it to smithereens. Amber...you look like you could use a few refreshing naps before you return to your duties as Librarian.

  9. What a lot of mews! We loved it all. Amber really isn't gettin' much of a vacation with all her perusing mew books to share. Giant plant looks a bit intimidating to me. Precious
