Happy Wednesday, and thank mew so much for stopping by. Pull up a chair, get comfortable, and let’s dive into what’s been happening at BBHQ over the last few days.

The Weather Report

The weather has remained cooler, a little breezy at times, with a splash of rain and low-20s temperatures, which, in all honesty, has been utterly glorious!

Though we keep seeing all this stuff online about getting extra food in, and emergency supplies because of the supurr El Nino that's building in the Specific Ocean - yes we know it's really the Pacific, but we prefer Specific! MOL

So we're not quite sure what that means, but it seems like a bit of pre-winter prepping is in the offing!  

This Week's Flower Offering

Just look at the colour of that; it is so intense, fiery, and honestly quite volcanic, mew should see them in real life, quite breathtaking in their meauty.

This year's flowers haven't done that great in the relentless scorchio sun, so seeing this the other day was a total win for that garden border! MOL

First up in the news...

Fudge's Listening To Rain


Fudge, an orange tabby with soft stripes and bright green eyes, sits close to a window, gazing upward as he listens to the rain on the glass roof. A gentle pitter-patter rain fell on the catservatory roof the other day; the sun was still shining as it fell, and Fudge sat there listening and watching the large drops roll down the glass.

 Melvyn's Supurr Chilled

Finally this week...

Twilight Smooch

Today's Really Random Photo


We were going to share more bunker pics today, but then we remembered we haven't shared any moon pics for sooooo long, and the reason for that is we haven't seen it much this year. 

Quite bizarre, but it's been below the horizon unless it's waxing gibbous prior to the full moon.

A bright full moon glows behind drifting clouds in the night sky, while large green leaves in the foreground are lit by warm artificial light. The contrast between the cool moonlight and the golden illumination on the foliage creates a striking, slightly surreal dusk‑to‑night garden scene.

Now here's the really strange thing... mew know we watch the moon; we've done it for years and years, so we're pretty familiar with where we normally see it from the BBHQ garden at different times of night.

But lately, its position from our particular viewing spot has seemed completely out of whack with what we're used to seeing. And on the night of the eclipse, it really had us scratching our heads.

In our highly scientific BBHQ opinion, the moon still has an operating virus. We call it Moodvid!!! MOL

The Weather Report

Well, we did get the rain; it wasn't quite biblical, but the courtyard did get flooded to over ankle height. How do we know this? Because the P.A. had to go and shut the library door, and she waded through it while we all watched on from the catservatory! MOL 

It rained very heavily on and off, with several rather dazzling lightning storms, and a lot of thunder for a few days, but we did get a nice Bank Holiday Monday. 

Going forward, it remains unsettled, but so it goes; at least we aren't freezing or boiling, which is always a blessing! MOL

This Week's Flower Offering

Three daisy‑like flowers with bright yellow petals fading to soft pink near their deep purple centres bloom in a rustic wooden planter. These have done so well in the little flower box under the gazebo. There are three in total: this one, a blue one, and a white one. They are so pretty, but this yellow one is our favourite!

Melvyn's Catservatory Sun Puddle

 Fudge's Flat Out

Finally this week...

Parsley's Checking Out The Clean Patio

Today's Really Random Photo


This is the bunker's main purrsonnel lift or elevator; what could possibly go wrong?

Basil, a cat dressed in tactical gear and a red beret, stands inside a metallic futuristic elevator at BBHQ. The walls are lined with glowing panels displaying humorous system messages, including sarcastic remarks from the elevator’s AI about Basil travelling to Level 9. Floor indicators show the lift descending from Level 3, and a button panel invites him to “press paw to confirm.” The scene blends sci‑fi style with playful humour as Basil faces the chatty elevator on his way to another mission.

🛗 Essential Elevators

Getting around seventeen levels of BBHQ requires something a little more substantial than your average lift.

Enter Essential Elevators ~ a heavily reinforced, military-grade elevator big enough for ten fully armed cats, assorted equipment, and whatever questionable artefact somebody has decided to bring home this week.

It’s fast. It’s reliable. It’s virtually indestructible.

Its A.I. is also incredibly snarky.

Ask politely for Level Nine, and it may question your life choices before closing the doors. Press the wrong button and expect commentary. Press the emergency stop and… actually, just don’t.

There is one other tiny quirk.

Essential Elevators occasionally ignores the floor mew selected and takes mew somewhere else entirely.

Not because it’s broken.

Apparently, it simply knows better.

As Posie and Snowie discovered when they requested Level Eight and were cheerfully deposited on Level One instead, Essential Elevators really does live up to its unofficial motto:

“The only elevators to take mew where mew didn’t know mew wanted to go!”

So today I’m going to Level Nine.

At least, that’s where I’m hoping to end up.

The Weather Report

OH MY COD!!!! Mew'll never believe it, but it's stayed cool, so much so that a discussion about making a fire or putting on the heating was had! MOL

It's been rather refreshing, to say the least, and we've had a little more rain too. Though we have a truly dreadful, Biblical forecast for later on tonight and into the small hours of Thursday, so we'll be on flood watch.

We'll let mew know what happens!

This Week's Flower Offering

Parsley's Damp Stretch on The Sofa


Parsley, a sleek black cat, lies on his back on a dark sofa, paws curled and body relaxed in a long stretch. His fur looks slightly damp from being out in the rain, catching the light against the cushions behind him, including a plaid one and a speckled one, creating a cosy, contented BBHQ moment.

Parsley got a little damp in the garden, then decided to dry himself off on the sofa.

Fudge's Checking Out The Catmint


Fudge, an orange tabby cat with a fluffy tail, stands on a sunny patio and leans toward a flowering catmint plant, sniffing its small purple blossoms. So Fudge was inspecting the catmint plant on the back patio, as the P.A. had given it a little trim the other day. He wasn't very happy... he's rather precious about the catmint plants.

After taste-testing several leaves, he declared.

"It's fine, I can deal with that!"

In other news

Smooch's Relaxing in The Garden 


Smooch, a tripawed white cat with black patches and a tripawed stance, lies stretched out along a wooden slatted garden bench on a sunny day. His body is fully relaxed, head resting sideways, surrounded by lush green foliage that frames this peaceful BBHQ garden moment.

Smooch was enjoying a little catnap on the rear deck as the late afternoon sun is really nice here.

He said, though, he was actually snoopervising the P.A. while she was cleaning up the raised beds at the side of the summer house.

 Basil in BBHQ Bunker with The P.A.

Inside a warm, steampunk‑styled BBHQ bunker workshop, The P.A. sits at a desk covered in sketches, pencils, and a detailed blueprint for a six‑wheeled vehicle labelled MOG1. In front of the desk, the small armoured MOG1 vehicle is parked, carrying Basil—dressed in military gear with a red beret—at the front as Wing Commander, with some kitten recruits seated behind him. Glowing monitors, signs, and mechanical details fill the background, creating a cosy, whimsical command‑centre atmosphere where Basil and The P.A. work side by side.

Oh, this did tickle me no end... the what-if picture...

The P.A. in the bunker, creating MOG1 for some kittens who just happened to need a home and found their way to BBHQ... no, there are no new kittens at BBHQ, just in case mew're wondering.

And of course I had to try the kitten-sized version of MOG1 ~ I think it really suits me! MOL
