Well, what a week! We'll just give mew the weather update, as we missed that last week; it has been so still for the last three weeks, like no wind at all, not even a whisper of a breeze and very overcast, although we did get a brief sunspot on Sunday (See Parsley further down the post), which was marvellous. We can't ever remember a time, at this time of year when it has been this still for this long at BBHQ; very strange indeed.
Then on Caturday night around 10PM, a radiator burst upstairs and leaked through the kitchen ceiling - great fun, NOT! So we've had no heating since then as the system had to be drained as there was no way to stop the water. Cat Dad has replaced the failed radiator, and he's just replaced the adjacent one, as it was the same age, to mitigate another disaster from that one in the future.
Plus, there are two more that need changing, which is happening as we type this, so hopefully, by tonight - Chewsday evening - the system can be refilled, and with a bit of luck, we'll be all warm and toasty again, as Smooch said, and I quote, "Dude, it's fluffing warmer outside!" See our first news story!
So the paint will have to come out and the ceiling redone in the kitchen; seriously, it never rains. It BURSTS!!! MOL
Anyhoo, let's look at this week's top headlines.

Smooch Says It's Warmer Outside
So our little tripawed dude, has been in his favourite basket under the gazebo feeling rather hissed off!
Even though there is a fire in the woodburner - and we burn approved smokeless coal before anypawdy wants to mention climate change - he's adamant that he's better off outside!

Melvyn's Modelling The Top Bandana Pick
Last week, mew voted for the Woodland Furiends bandana and suggested that Melvyn could model it in memory of Peanut and Fred, which he is honoured to do.
Which one should he model next?
That's us done for today, Amber will be back on Friday with a brand new book review and if mew missed any other posts, here are the links:

A burst radiator! Ugh! I hope the warm is back on soon.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get more sunshine soon, everyone needs it.
Nice job, Melvyn! I like those butterflies, I actually got a picture of one recently.
Thank goodness Cat Dad fixed those radiators, but of course the fluffin' weather turned warm right after he did. How about Bears and Bunnies next, Melvyn? We love that sunspot photo of Parsley. So handsome!
ReplyDeleteWe have had the same gloom and damp misty conditions. The local forecaster said that in the first 10 days of November we had two hours of sunshine. I must have blinked and missed them because I never saw any sun. Apparently we were stuck under an anti cyclone and the jet stream was on the wrong course to move it.
ReplyDeleteThe burst radiator was a nightmare, but very good idea to replace the others at the same time.
Melvyn did an excellent job modelling the bandana in memory of Peanut and Fred.
I vote for Bears and Bunnies next week.
I'd like to see you model #4 Melvyn. I luv flutterbies! We hope the coal is stoked and the radiators are steamin' hot by now. Our weather has been so not northern like, that a night without heat would be no fun, but not too cold. Climate change is caused by lotsa stuff, not our stoves. Smooch glad you had baskie full of blankies. Precious

ReplyDeleteSuch an inconvenient and expensive occurrence.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about the radiator! And the cold and overcast weather. Love the picture of Parsley in the sunspot! Good catwalk, Melvyn! We like Bears and Bunnies for next week!
ReplyDeleteSorry about the radiator burst. What an awful thing to happen. Glad dad replaced the other one to avert another disaster. Smart.
ReplyDeleteYour kitties are so precious.
Have a fabulous day and rest of the week. Scritches to all the kitties and a big hug to mom. ♥
A sunpuddle is worth it's weight in gold these days!
ReplyDeleteWhen it's colder inside than outside...well, that's a bummer...hope things are back to normal quickly.
Oh no, how awful about the radiator, what a mess that had to be. Great photos gang, y'all keep warm! Thanks for joining Angel Brian's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
