 Smashing Greetings Supurr Furiends

Welcome to the BBHQ midweek news round-up!

It's been a little hit-and-miss with the weather this week, and while there have been some nice sunny spells since Caturday, the wind has been gusting on and off, with intermittent showers.

Anyhoo, a few of the tulips have made an appearance in the last week, which has been nice, but we think a lot of the bulbs have probably rotted due to the excessively wet winter.

We like these fancy pink ones!

So we have made a note to buy some extra bulbs later in the year to plant for next spring.

How are your spring flowers coming along? We do hope mew've got a lot more colour than we're experiencing! MOL

First up in the news this week

Parsley's Brush with Wind

The BBHQ Midweek News Round-Up ©BionicBasil® Parsleys Brush with Wind

On Sunday, the wind was quite ferocious, and yet, Parsley still wanted to go outside. When he got to the end of the path, a huge gust blew in.

It scared him, and he had to hurry back to the gazebo.

He's now decided that when it's windy, the basket is the place to be, well that is, unless Smooch got there first! MOL

Next up in the news

Fudge and the Jumbo Cushion

The BBHQ Midweek News Round-Up ©BionicBasil® Fudge and the Jumbo Cushion

The P.A. was going to start work on another book that needed finishing on Monday afternoon, but in true P.A. avoidance, she looked for a completely random, non-important, completely unnecessary and total waste of time project to kill a few hours instead of writing.

So she headed into the craft room and made this jumbo cat cushion for no reason whatsoever, like seriously she could have completed a chapter or two, but no, sewing it was.

Anyhoo, we really like the cushion, and if mew want to see a little video of construction, click here for Instagram or here for TikTok.

What do mew think?

Her excuse was, that there were a load of old pillows piled up in the craft room and a pile of fabric squares that were surplus to requirement.

  1. Your tulips are beautiful.

We have flowers here but need a bit more rain. Not storms mind you, lest someone get any ideas, but some rain.

It does look like Parsley ran into "a right smart o' wind," as I've heard it called.

The giant cushion looks like a worthwhile project to me, and might be part of structured procrastination.

The bandana is fabulous, Melvy, but something is wrong with the links as I couldn't get to any of the videos on two different devices.

The spring garden bandana might bring more spring weather with it, it's worth a try.

  2. Melvyn, the yellow haze, purrlease. And Lynn watched all about that cushy new bed being made. If you had the vicious grey squirrels we do, they'd have ate all the tulip bulbs. No need fur the rain to ruin them,, mol. Precious

  4. Love the beautiful flowers and that cushion is pawsome.

I choose Spring Garden for next week.

  5. Your tulips are very pretty! We tend to let things grow wild here so we have these blue wildflowers called spiderwort. They're everywhere right now. Iris are coming out too. Love all your kitty pics and Melvyn's walk with roll is fun! We like the spring garden bandanna for next week.

  8. We vote for Yellow Haze, Melvyn! Parsley, we don't blame you for fleeing that gusty stuff. INside is much better. Maybe you can join Fudge on that amazing cushion your PA made. :)

  9. The tulips are lovely. The azaleas are starting to come out. The red is in full bloom but it is always earlier than the others. the winter before last all of our begonia bulbs rotted, so at the beginning of last winter we dug the new ones up and kept them in the bottom of the airing cupboard. I have put them in the greenhouse now in potting compost to grow on a bit before being planted out. They are a bit slow but hopefully another month will make a difference.
That was some cute rolling from Melvyn.
