The sheep were quite happy to be in our selfie, they are, Betsy Boo and Baa-bra! MOL

Last week we visited the Nine Maidens, and this week, it's the Nine Ladies! MOL Is the number NINE significant, or is it just a red herring? The mystery just keeps getting more mysterious!

Mew know, one thing that we've learnt on all our Stone Circle trips is that, still today, nopawdy has definitive proof of what they were actually used for.

We purrsonsonally think that aside from the obvious religious aspect and the definite astrological links, we think that our ancestors had magic. Real magic and that these stone circles were really portals, as mew'll find that most of them are built directly on top of ley lines.

Where we live there are no ley lines in the county, so there's no stone cirlces. How did our ancesters know about those energetic energy rivers beneath the ground?  And then build these incredible monuments directly on top of these invisible, energetic underground rivers, yet what we find even more mysterious is that nopawdy actually talks about this.

Mew know, we thank Bast for the show Ancient Aliens, as those dudes are right on the money with their theories!

>^.^<

Mew know how much we love ancient standing stones and stone circles, see our previous trips to:

Here's a little bit of info from BBHQ's Historical Travel Guide, Smooch:

Greetings fellow travellers and history lovers!

The Nine Ladies Stone Circle, located in Stanton Moor, Derbyshire, UK, is a remarkable prehistoric monument that dates back to the Bronze Age. It is believed to have been constructed around 3,000 to 4,000 years ago, making it one of the oldest surviving stone circles in the country. The Nine Ladies Stone Circle is made up of nine standing stones, each of which is approximately 1 metre in height, arranged in a circular formation with a diameter of around 11 meters. The stones are made of millstone grit, a type of sandstone that is common in the area. The purpose of the Nine Ladies Stone Circle remains a mystery, although there are many theories about its original use. Some experts believe that it may have been used for religious or spiritual ceremonies, while others suggest that it was used for astronomical observations or as a meeting place for local communities. Despite the uncertainty surrounding its origins, the Nine Ladies Stone Circle is an impressive and fascinating sight to behold. It is surrounded by beautiful countryside, with rolling hills and verdant forests stretching out in every direction. If mew're interested in exploring other historical sites in the area, there are several other places of interest nearby. Wingfield manor, for example, is located just over 9 miles from the Nine Ladies Stone Circle. The Arbor Low Stone Circle and Henge is another nearby site, and is one of the best-preserved prehistoric sites in the UK. Visiting the Nine Ladies Stone Circle is a must for anypawdy interested in history, archaeology, or ancient monuments. It is a truly remarkable site that has stood the test of time, and continues to captivate visitors from all over the globe.

Anyhoo it's time for us to go and snoopervise in the garden, as the Spring clean up is under way. But only a mild version, as we leave all the fallen leaves in the garden borders, and we don't snip any of last years dead flowers, (apart from roses) as we've found that lots of insects use them as homes over the winter. So it will be a bit of sweep around and general tidy up.

Smooch is already camped out by the oven, waiting for the P.A. to turn it on, and this week he's got a big bit of juicy steak for his lunch, honestly no wonder he parks his bum up and refuses to move. And don't worry we all get a little dish with some of the tasty steak.

Do drop by tomorrow as we're sharing more Valentine's crafts for cats, and if mew missed anything so far, here are the links:
