Furbulous Greetings Supurr Furiends
Welcome to the BBHQ midweek news round-up!
Well, what's been going off at BBHQ this week?
Remember we mentioned that the shed/barn doors needed painting a while ago, (this pair are about 45 years old), well Cat Dad pulled the weatherboard off the bottom of the doors, and the rot was so much worse than we suspected. Take a look below.
The P.A. had planned to scrape out the rot and use a special wood hardener on the exposed areas, followed by a 'little bit' of filler (MOL MOL MOL) and just repaint them. Yeah!
So, anyhoo, the condition was way beyond any of the steps above so Cat Dad went to our local timber yard, got a few planks in the van, came back to BBHQ and made these new ones.
Aren't they epic? It's the first time Cat Dad has made doors, so we think he did a pretty great job.
This is the back view, and the P.A. gave them one coat of a wood preserver yesterday morning. They will get two more coats before being flipped over, and then she will repeat the process on the front before painting them in our BBHQ signature red gloss after the undercoat is applied. We'll give mew an update on this next week, as all products being used will need 24 hours between coats.
And the Midweek News wouldn't be the same with a blooming marvellous flower to share with mew, and this week, we're sharing a giant sunflower. It's about 9ft tall. It is staked, although the endless rain has made it droop now.
Anyhoo, let's look at this week's top headlines.
First up in the news this week
Queues Forming For Snacks In The Kitchen
There was a bit of a backup situation in the kitchen this week, as Fudge was taking much longer at the snack bar than normal. He'd already exceeded the allotted 3-minute time limit when Melvyn appeared, and Parlsey had already been waiting for 4 minutes because Fudge raced in and cut him off at the pass, jumping to the front of the queue! Just look at poor Parsley's face, he's almost passing out from hunger/starvation/boredom/queuing for so long! MOL
And who knows how long it will be before Melvyn gets a refill?
Now, I wonder if that's what last week's midnight meeting was about???
Fudge's inability to stick to time schedules when nomming snacks? I will investigate further and report back next week with my findings.
Next up in the news
Melvyn Posing In The Garden at BBHQ
Mew know Melvyn is on his summer modelling break, but he really wanted to take a snazzy photo in the garden this week, and we think he nailed oops, clawed it! MOL
What do mew think?
Finally this week
Amber's Taking A Break From Books
Don't panic, Amber was just resting between volumes! MOL
She has just finished the first book of the next review season and has already got the second one ready to go.
Amber says she's already found a nice selection for nearly the first half of the review season, and she can't wait to share her finds with mew all!
Many apologies for not having any new videos to share this week, we've been really rather slack on our social media for the last few weeks. We go through stages where we post up to 5 times a week, and then we fall off the planet and hardly post at all! MOL
But never fear, we will endeavour to post more soon when we can finally find the energy to do so!
That's us done for today. We'll be back tomorrow with a brand new Cat Hazards post and again on Friday, so do join us then, as mew know how much we love your company.
And if mew missed any other posts over the last week, here are the links:
