Spooky Sunday greetings furiends

Welcome to another BBHQ selfie selection, this week we decided to visit Cillingham Castle, purrported to be the U.K.'s most haunted castle! EEEEEK!

Anyhoo, we were really lucky that it was a meautiful sunny day when we visited way back in the summer, so it didn't seem that spooky at all, although on a dark, misty moonless night, we can imagine what a fright-fest it would be!

It is such a lovely place to visit, and we had the best day, although Melvyn and Fudge did want to explore the dungeons further, but I said no, because the longer we're down here, the more likely one of mew fruitcakes will end up getting an unpurrleasant entity attached to mew and be bringing it back to BBHQ, and we have enough ghosts of our own already!

Anhoo, if mew love spooky goings on, check out the TV show, Most Haunted and their trip to Chillingham Castle

Here's a little bit of info from BBHQ's Historical Travel Guide, Smooch:

During our recent visit to Chillingham Castle in Northumberland, UK, we were enthralled by the sheer magnitude of its history. Built over 800 years ago during the reign of King Edward I in the 12th Century, Chillingham Castle has stood the test of time and witnessed a great deal of historical events.
Over the centuries, the castle has been home to many noble families, each of whom left their mark on the castle's architecture and design. The castle's construction is an impressive mix of Norman, Gothic, and Tudor styles, adding to its charm and grandeur. And there have been many battles fought in the area surrounding the castle over the centuries. However, what makes Chillingham Castle truly unique is its reputation as the most haunted castle in the UK. The castle's walls have witnessed some of the most gruesome and horrifying fates, and it is said that the spirits of former residents, prisoners, and victims still haunt its halls. One of the most famous ghostly figures is that of the 'Blue Boy,' who was bricked up alive in a chamber known as the Pink Room as a punishment for his disobedience. Visitors have reported seeing the apparition of the boy wandering the halls of the castle, or a blue flash of light in the area where his body was found, and some have even claimed to have felt his cold touch.
Another chilling tale is that of the White Pantry Ghost, a lady in white who appears in the castle's pantry and asks for water, a creepy story is on the Chillingham Castle website. Those who have seen her claim that she disappears before their eyes, leaving behind a sense of unease. Despite its haunted reputation, Chillingham Castle is a fascinating historical site. It has survived sieges, battles, and even a devastating fire in the 19th century. Visitors can explore the castle's many rooms, including the Great Hall, the Torture Chamber, and the Dungeon. Additionally, the castle has an impressive collection of art, tapestries, and furniture, giving visitors a glimpse into the lives of the castle's former residents. Our visit to Chillingham Castle was an immersive experience that allowed us to travel back in time and witness its rich and varied history. Whether mew are interested in ghosts, history, or architecture, Chillingham Castle has something for everypawdy, making it a must-visit destination.
