Mancat Monday at BBHQ ~ Starring Parsley aka Mr Sauce **AND DID MEW KNOW THIS? HE'S GOT A REALLY BIG SECRET TOO!!!**

Mancat Monday at BBHQ with The B Team ©BionicBasil ®

Happy Monday Supurr Floofy Furiends

It's Mancat Monday, and mew know what that means... it's a mancat zone! MOL

Today, Parsley is here sharing all his rugged manlycatness, as we don't think he's featured on MCM for years either, like Melvyn last week

ManCat Monday at BBHQ ©BionicBasil® Pawesome Parsley Sauce

Isn't he a magnificent, handsome panfur!

BBHQ'S HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE HOLDER

He's got the most lethal patherene claws.

His hobbies include a bit of rock climbing!

Birdwatching and nature is another favourite pastime.

ManCat Monday at BBHQ ©BionicBasil® Pawesome Parsley Sauce Overwhelmed by Catnip

And he's also dabbled in the highly lucrative trade of catnip selling, although this particular batch nearly tipped him over the edge, or off the table! MOL

Did Mew Know This About Parsley?

Parsley is a gentle giant; he has such a kind nature, and he's the resident heavyweight at BBHQ, weighing in at approximately 6.7kg - 14.77lbs. And this year, when he went for his annual check-up and boosters, the vet had the nerve to say he was a bit heavy. Cat Dad soon put that straight and said to the vet. "Dude, he's on a bulking phase!" MOL

In 2014 when he first arrived at BBHQ, he was called Parsons as he had a faint ring of white fur around his neck like a priest's collar, so that's what they named him at the rescue.

The P.A. wanted to call him Magic, Merlin or some other really unimaginative magical black cat name but after trying out all the usual names and he responded to none, she realised that he wasn't going to be easy to name. Then one day she was looking through a gardening book and saw the word parsley and had an 'ah-ha!' moment, and that's how Parsley got his new name, and slowly that evolved into Parsley Sauce and then we found that he really loves the name Sauce, so most of the time we call him Sauce, or Mr Sauce.

And on different days of the week, he likes to be different sauces, such as mint, BBHQ, chocolate, steak, peri peri, seafood, black sauce aka HP, caramel, etc... it changes with his mood! But don't ever call him Mayonaise; yep, that one is a huge NO-NO! MOL #truestory

And we bet mew're wondering what the really big secret is?

Well, he's a biscuit-making machine. Seriously, he's a one-cat biscuit factory! MOL

Check him out on TikTok

Just look at him go, and he makes the best biscuits ever. In fact, he's a bit of a biscuit aficionado or a biscuit connoisseur.

Thank mew for joining us today, and we'll leave mew to bask in the magnificence of all Parsley's manlycatness and look forward to your company on Wednesday when we're back with The Midweek News Round-up; until then...

Mancat Monday at BBHQ with Smooch and Did Mew Know This?

Mancat Monday at BBHQ with The B Team ©BionicBasil ®

It's Mancat Monday, mew know what that means today and Smooch is here again sharing his exceptional, tripawed manlycatness and a mild purrchant for catnip

Doesn't he cut a magnificent specimen of a ruggedly handsome mancat?

We've also turned this fab picture into a puzzle, so play on Jigsaw Planet and see if mew can beat our time of 7 mins 38 secs.

Did mew Know this About Smooch?

We know in his last mancat pin-up post we revealed 3 things, but did mew know this...

Smooch always wants to help/snoopervise the P.A. in the craft room when she is making stuff for our Crafting with Cats posts, and this week was no exception! MOL

Can mew see the green fabric? of course mew can, well that was part of a previous craft post for our Easter Special, and Smooch was really wanting in on the action, though the P.A. reckons he was only there because the huge box of catnip was open!

Smooch said, and I quote, "The utter nerve to insinuate I was only there for the primo nip. I'm deeply wounded by such an unfounded accusation!"

Then I had to point out that he'd got catnip stuck to his chin, plus there was photographic and video evidence - OOPS!

Smooch in the Catnip on Mancat Monday at BBHQ ©BionicBasil®

Check out the video evidence on Instagram.

So we'll leave mew to admire Smooch a while longer, and we'll see mew on Wednesday when we're back with the BBHQ weekly hot gossip; until then...

Keep calm and do manlycat things!

Welcome to The BBHQ Midweek News Round-Up ~ What Happened to Tammy? Melvyn's A Top Banana and What Do Tripaws Do All Day?

MidWeek News Round Up with The B Team ©BionicBasil®2022

 Epic Greetings Furiends

Welcome to the BBHQ midweek news round-up!

This week, the P.A. got a nasty cold, so she's been sneezing, coughing and sniffling everywhere, it started on Caturday and yesterday, she completely lost all sense of taste and smell, so we're wondering if it's a covid variation??? She's a little better today and can smell plus taste again, though not in its normal capacity yet.

This is why today's post is a little late, but better late than not at all! MOL

First up in the news this week

What Happened to Tammy?

If mew remember on Monday's post when Angel Humphrey was here, and we mentioned he arrived at BBHQ in 2000 with another kitty called Tammy, well Tammy became Millie or Miss Mildred Marbles. We have mentioned her before on the blog, but for those who missed it, here's all about Millie.

Miss Mildred Marbles ©BionicBasil® The Midweek News Round Up

Let's tell mew a little about her backstory.

Miss Mildred's story began at an old people's home in Mansfield, Notts. She was part of a 100+  feral colony, and slowly all of the cats were trapped and neutered, then rehomed.  Mildred escaped the trap for quite some time and lived in a broken greenhouse while the kindly residents still put food out for her. When she was eventually caught, Brenda our local Cat Rescue Lady had her neutered, and she was in the next cage to Humphrey when the P.A. was at the rescue. In fact, they were the only two cats there, the ones left behind. She was tiny for her age, no bigger than a 6-month-old cat when she was 2 years old.

When the P.A. brought the pair of them home and released them from the carriers. Humphrey settled in like it had always been his home, yet Mildred ran upstairs into the spare bedroom and hid up inside an antique bed. She spent 3 months in that room, hiding on the wooden lats up between the bed springs under the bed, so the P.A. set up a litter box and feeding station, so Mildred didn't have to go far. The P.A. also spent the next 3 months half lying under the bed trying to coax her out for up to 3 hours a day, and eventually, one day Mildred just appeared in the kitchen, sitting on the table and she never looked back.

Being from a feral colony she was terrified of people, but slowly as time went on she became the fussiest fuss monster ever; like seriously, mew would never have believed the turnaround in her trust and demeanour. She would chase the P.A. around for pats and then she'd start to dribble. Mew would have never thought that a cat so small could compete with the dribble levels from a St Bernard, but she did and won paws down.

She loved to play for hours on end, and to say where she started out in life and where she ended up, it was like North and South Pole. The difference was incredible.

Sadly in late 2008, she started to cough up blood, and after a trip to the vets, it was discovered she had a tumour between her lungs and nothing could be done to save her.

Miss Mildred departed over the Rainbow Bridge on the 29th of January 2009, and to this day no one has taken her crown for the fussiest, friendliest dribble monster in BBHQ history, and she was also the reason for so many other unwanted kitties being adopted by the P.A.'s friends because once they'd met her, they wanted a cat of their own.

Miss Mildred Marbles was truly amazing and is sadly missed every day too, and for such a small cat she had the biggest heart mew could ever imagine.

So that's what happened to Tammy. She had an epically epic life at BBHQ.

Melvyn's A Top Banana

The other day Melvyn was channelling his inner banana, after experiencing the Yeowww catnip banana and rainbow.

We think he was really having a good time!! MOL

Finally this week

What Do Tripaws Do All Day?

If mew've ever wondered what tripaws do all day, we can tell mew this; there's a lot of reclining in various locations around the garden, especially when it's sunny.

The BBHQ Midweek News Round-Up ©BionicBasil® What Do Tripaws Do All Day

Here's a typical afternoon in the life of Smooch. He's on the bench near the pond completely snoozing his fur off!

Although if mew asked him, he'd say he was guarding the catnip by the summer house, oh, of course mew are, with your eyes closed, upside down fast asleep!

Who does he think he's kidding???!!! MOL MOL

That's us done for today as the P.A. needs to go and find a box of tissues, as she's just run out.

Amber will be back on Friday with another fab book just for mew, and click the link if mew missed Monday's post click here to catch up on Man Cat Monday with Angel Humphrey.

Welcome to The BBHQ Midweek News Round-Up ~ Smooch Is Keeping The Catnip Warm, Snuggling with Fudge and Pandora and Melvyn Can't Decide What To Wear

MidWeek News Round Up with The B Team ©BionicBasil®2022

 Epic Greetings Furiends

Welcome to the BBHQ midweek news round-up!

It's been a bit fresh at BBHQ the last few days, and there we were thinking that the weather was going to warm up again; we were wrong!

And to make matters worse, energy prices and oil prices are at an obscene level. A level that is unsustainable for the vast majority. Mew know we don't really talk politics or current affairs here, but today we're making an exception.

Sadly the British Government has bitterly betrayed the British public and left them high and dry along with inflation rises, NI rises, Tax rises, and stealth taxes applied to drain the UK citizens even further.

How can a man who is richer than the Queen possibly have a grip on what or how an average family spends in a month to live and pay expenses?

How is it possible that the UK energy prices have gone up 54% when everywhere else in Europe it has only gone up approximately 4%? OK, so we're not part of the E.U. anymore, but why does that equate to such a drastic rise? Who the fluff negotiated a deal like that? A single-cell amoeba could have negotiated a better deal! It is a joke, a literal joke that we are in this position.

But the truly devasting thing is that no one in our worthless government is doing a single thing to resolve these heinous price hikes that are nothing more than highway robbery, while those energy companies literally bath in billions of profit each year and pay such tiny taxes because their companies are held in tax havens around the globe.

And the average citizen is taxed to death daily; the system is wrong, it is flawed beyond comprehension and yet the people in power throw away taxes collected from us like confetti, and when they've wasted and burned through billions, they apply even more taxes on us to pick up the shortfall.

Then they look at selling our national health service and selling anything they can to fill their coffers from misplaced spending and flawed, antiquated systems which benefit a few greedy and corrupt sectors and individuals. We used to really love Great Britain, but over the past 20 years it's become Grotty Britain, the roads are full of potholes, and there's litter dumped everywhere. Attitudes have changed dramatically, everyone wants to be the proverbial queen bee, yet most don't realise that to run a successful hive there needs to be worker bees too, and therein lies the problem. If there are no worker bees anymore to keep the machine's cogs running smoothly, everything will grind to a halt.

This new system and trend which has evolved over the last couple of decades will be the undoing of everything. The world ran like a hive, but now everything is unbalanced, so systems will fail, which in turn will cause others to fail until it all ultimately fails.

If mew look throughout history at great civilisations around the world that collapsed and historians and archaeologists have no answers as to why they failed. This is why they failed; we are actually living it now. Look at the fall of the Roman empire, a society that was the most advanced and forward-thinking of its time, full of prosperity and it failed.

They talk about climate change, the biggest climate change offenders are the big corporations, yet they want the general public to pay to fix everything. Everyone has got to have an electric car, but how is it possible to have one when the price of electricity is now so expensive, plus the actual cost of the vehicle itself is as much as a regular combustion engine. It is not a feasible solution, and there's zero incentive to have one.

We said 20 years ago that cars of the future should be fully self-charging with a dynamo/kinetic system, they should have solar panels built into the roof and bonnet, so they cost absolutely nothing to run. This technology is available, though there's no profit for greedy corporations with a vehicle like that, is there? So that's never going to happen.

Why do solar panels cost so much, if the world's leaders are so concerned about climate change, and why do they allow new build houses to be constructed without solar panels fitted? All new builds should be fitted mandatorily with solar energy. Our government is pushing air source heat pumps as an alternative for regular heating boilers, they cost upwards of 20K, like wow, who's got 20K to fit one? There is a government cashback scheme to recoup a proportion of the cost, but still, that's an enormous outlay for anyone. And after speaking to several sources regarding this new type of heating, the general consensus is that mew can have heat or water, because most of the systems are not man enough to provide both effectively, so therefore mew'd need to have another system in place to heat your water unless mew spend thousands more on a more powerful system, which kind of defeats the object.

The world is broken, and we don't know if it can be fixed. This great reset that is being spoken of, if it comes to fruition will only benefit the 1% as they will have their luxury islands to live on far away from us, and the others that we have seen on social media saying they'd love society to collapse so life would be more simple again are utter idiots.

That is a fanciful and romantic notion beyond absurdity. While it might be ok for a few days, the cold reality of such an event is this: no water, no power, no heat, no facilities, no hospitals, no medical attention at all, no food, no transport, no safety, no creature comforts whatsoever - no coffee to go any more peeps. It would not be fun at all, it would be a desperate battle of survival in a lawless world, and don't think for one minute that a little veggie patch in your back garden is going to save mew because there will be marauding murderous gangs rampaging for supremacy and supplies, yes it will be like a post-apocalyptic movie only worse.

We can now see why Mr Musk wants to move to Mars; perhaps he can take The B Team with him!

Now we've got all that off our chest fur, let's tell mew about what's been happening at BBHQ this week.

First up in the news this week

Smooch Is Keeping The Catnip Warm

The BBHQ Midweek News Round-Up ©BionicBasil® Smooch Is Keeping The Catnip Warm

We had one sunny but breezy afternoon, so Smooch decided that the catnip plant in the courtyard needed some extra warms from the cool wind, what a kind and considerate gesture.

As it's been fresh, we've had more snuggles with the P.A., we've essentially been keeping her warm.

Finally this week

Melvyn Can't Decide What To Wear

The BBHQ Midweek News Round-Up ©BionicBasil® Melvyn Can't Decide What To Wear

Melvyn got a few of his bandanas out the other day, as he was looking for something rather jazzy to wear.

But after spreading the bandanas all over the kitchen island, he still couldn't decide! MOL

Welcome to The BBHQ Midweek News Round-Up ~ The Nightwatch with Fudge & Parlsey - A New Cat on The Block, and Smooch is a Schlump

Midweek News Round-Up with The B Team ©BionicBasil® Winter Banner

Epic Wednesday Greetings Furiends

Welcome to the BBHQ midweek news round-up!

How's your week going? It's been really cold and wet this week at BBHQ, in fact it feels colder than last week, and we're not loving it! Where the fluff is Spring, we need some warms and sunshine stat! MOL

First up in the news this week

Apparently, there was a proximity alarm a couple of nights ago, and Parsley and Fudge were on paw to monitor the situation from the catservatory.

The Midweek News Round-Up at BBHQ ©BionicBasil® The Nightwatch with Parsley

Parsley stayed at ground level, while Fudge opted for a loftier lookout perch!

The Midweek News Round-Up at BBHQ ©BionicBasil® The Nightwatch with Fudge

When they handed in their reports, there was another cat in the courtyard attempting to steal the catnip who looked very similar to Fudge, although his floofy tail was a bit crooked and not as buoyant as Fudges.

Is there a spy trying to infiltrate BBHQ?

Is this floofy ginger doppelganger here to try and take the place of Fudge?

Where did this imposter come from?

Are his intentions purely motivated by our epically epic catnip growing in the garden, or are there more nefarious reasons waiting to unfold?

We'll have more on this story as it unfolds.

Next up in the news this week

Schlumpy Smooch was hanging out under the kitchen table.

The Midweek News Round-Up at BBHQ ©BionicBasil® Smooch is a Schlump

Mew see he was a little miffed as the P.A. didn't stop her embroidery immediately like she did the night before. He expected the P.A. to down tools instantly again, but she was adding some beading and asked him to be patient for a few more minutes while she finished the section she was working on.

Smooch went and sulked in the kitchen, and this is how she found him five minutes later. He needed extra cuddles and the promise of extra Dreamies at bedtime to get over his upset. Oh dear poor sulky Smooch! MOL

The P.A. sends apologies for no Haunted Happenings this week, getting the Crafting with Cats post ready and making the catnip cookies used up all her extra time, but she did ask us to share this;
